Thinking about Curses animatic

So I tried to figure out where the spirits were all coming from and which fights they did- I'm not 100% sure if the lore is that different vanity means it wasn't actually Cata? And so all the nohits up to Fargo's are his ancestors?

I'm not sure who the character in the SGAmod intro was? Did they actually die to Hellion? Is that how she killed the rest of the spirits too?

I want a bit of the first part of the song to be the nohit series up to Gensokyo, but I'm not sure if I want to do bosses or the reveal videos with the lore. Might just do a mix and stick with whatever vanity is in the reveal video for the series, or use whatever vanity is used for a specific boss. (I'll probably end up doing that.)

Also I just thought, about the EoL recognising him thing, technically no? I know it's just because tmodloader wasn't in 1.4 yet (I think), but if anything using mothron wings would look more similar to the 1st spirit I think.. Also, that spirit doesn't show up in aMiT but does in the Gensokyo reveal with Shadow lore, they're replaced with the Ultranium spirit. Just something interesting.

I realised after the Shadow clone fight, Shadow basically quotes SCal. I'm not sure if the whole thing was in the mod at some point, but I recognised it from somewhere and finally realised that somewhere is the voice acting at the start of Stained, Brutal Calamity (the theme video)

I guess I'll just use the tag #catacurses because I can't come up with anything more creative lol

[At first I was thinking of just yt membering, but my parent thought that patreoning was better because 1. 30% cut vs 8% 2. Youtube and google already get enough money (lol) and 3. More support :>]

Not sure I can really put into words how.. just.. happy- Cata, his content, his community, have made me the past almost two months I've known about his channel.

I've kind of said this before, but sometimes I was just feeling super down and then watched one of his videos and immediately was in a better mood.

Cata is the only youtuber I've seriously dedicated real time to drawing, and honestly? I think I can owe my current artstyle that I'm starting to really love to Cata, because his content somehow got me to say "I wanna do daily doodles!" and actually follow through.

I hope that someday I'll get around to finishing a longer project heh.. I'm still thinking of that Curses animatic..

Anyways- as with any character or cc I enjoy, I'm always all for lore, no matter how nonsensical it is, it just makes me happy figuring it out- or not figuring it out and just being completely confused lol. Watching through some of the no-hit series (only today did I get around to watching every no-hit series reveal), aMiT, and CwaCoM was super fun! I'm not sure where I was going with that, uh, just that I like the lore :)

I have no idea where that weird dashlike thing at the very start was, so I checked to make sure I didn't have any dash accessories for some reason

My heart was remarkably calm which is probably why it was successful lol- almost all the other ones my heart was going crazy. Three attempts total today and they all got to final phase in a row was probably why

I'm pretty sure Shadow's projectiles stop at around 4 seconds left on the debuff, so I was like 2 seconds away from that T-T

Then again I died because I didn't know you had to change directions at the end

I switched SoC for a charm of myths so I can skill issue more easily

It took me way too long to make this lol..

Was just gonna doodle some Shimmer moths.. Welp. Now I have a design for them I guess lol!

(Is it technically cata fanart..? for tagging.. Ehhh it's related to him (technically a part of him lol, right?) so whatever)

More about the design under cut:

I used Swallowtail butterflies as a reference but strayed a bit. Also I thought they'd be pinkish like the shimmer but no, they're really light blue and white? (From the "death" anim and cwacom)

So that's where the general colours are from, how Cata has had them show up ingame (though the ones guarding the pool are rainbow like Faelings, but who knows man.)

He said crystal-like body, and I decided to make it sort of blue lace agate-like. I love blue lace agate, I have some :) And no, I'm not going to draw that again probably because that was really hard.

I don't really know what was happening with the little section lines, they were just all over the place at the last minute heh

First almost a third of Cata's ptw segment that I was sketching to make into an animatic.

(The reference image I use for drawing him jumpscare during the chests part because I didn't finish that)

Soooo the motivation for this has apparently peaced out.. Maybe I'll come back to it during the summer or something! But here is what I have so far.

You can tell which parts were done earlier by the antennae design lol-

If I come back to this, maybe it'll be better because after running this account and doing a lot of doodles, I've gotten much better at drawing him quickly.

I'm considering changing the passtheplayer tag to one just for bigger projects because I still kinda want to try making that Curses animatic (I tend to start too many projects and never finish them..)

Guesss whaaat? More Cata boss? No way..

This was the very first attempt I did today and it's technically a pb? By like. One second. But we celebrate the little wins when we suck at the game :)

I got to final phase once more before stopping for now, and that time, I got screwed over by SoC, but three dodges triggered before I died because I was in the wrong place for the pattern lol

That final phase is actually so scary - you've gotten through the whole rest of the fight, heart already going because you've only gotten to third phase a few times, then boom your hp is completely gone, there's the arena limit, the tiny purple-black projectiles, the rainbow Sprocket lasers orbiting and going out and you have to remember the Shadow projectiles change speed and distance and move accordingly but at the same time as the Sprocket lasers as they go out slowly and its like AUGH

SKILL ISSUE

I think this is the most accurate sentence for final phase:

"Shadow keeps going hippity hoppity your hp is now my property and wombo-comboing my ass with Sprocket"

I decided to make a tag for Cata boss stuff. Not sure how long it'll take for me to beat it, but I also don't know if I want to maybe the BIGGEST maybe, nohit it?

Anyways, pb to the last attack of 3rd phase!

I didn't really have an idea as to how to actually dodge that scythe attack, ehm plus I thought the phase was over lol.. (one attack away from 4th phase!! Still technically the same day that I reached 3rd phase, woah. (Though I'm posting this after 12..)) My excited mouse movements at pb'ing right before immediately dying, you love to see it.

I don't understand how people are so good at learning bosses quickly and being good at the game- how have people learned to nohit this boss already?? I don't know whether they're just gamers or if I have more skill issue than I thought

Also, in all of the 4 videos I've seen, people are using Celestial Starboard and Soaring Insignia instead of Temporal Wings. I feel like they're better for controlling and that accelleration thing but I kinda want to beat it with Temporal Wings like it's meant to be done.

I was gonna draw my oc throwing a cake at him, then remembered art is hard. I'm still the one throwing that burger though. Yeet.

This burger does not have all the components of a "well made burger" according to cata's standards. It is designed to not make a massive mess as it flies through the air. Throwable burger. *Nods

Oh and he's just enjoying being silly with the helium from the bday art :)
