Iām still so mad bc how did they give us this scene just to completely disregard their relationship for the rest of the show..
I just wish there were more episodes about them and I wish Jack replaced Cory in some of the serious moments in Shawnās life..
also I hated that ep in s7 where they suddenly decided to start hanging out and getting to know each other bc thatās what they shouldāve been doing the past two seasons š as if Jack didnāt come there specifically to meet his family and wouldnāt try to get to know his brother
PLEASE that scene was so unnecessary but they just HAD to let us know that Eric asks Jack to kiss it better
Fic where the gang witnesses Jack kiss one of Ericās boo-boos like itās normal to kiss your friend on the forehead.
Eric hits his head and Jack, without thought, leans down to kiss where Eric hurt himself before moving on, only for all their friends to be looking like:
THIS!! like we know Eric and Jack are best friends bc theyāre always spending time with each other, but they rarely get any serious scenes/storylines that actually develop their relationship and they have so much potential and chemistry and can both relate to each other since theyāre older brothers
and I remember one episode where Jack was eating dinner with the Matthews, so they are somewhat close, but I still wish there were scenes focusing on Jack and how he was able to build a relationship with them. a scene where Alan is being the grown adult figure Jack very much needed at the time wouldāve been perfect
also Rachel agreeing to a relationship with Jack is so OOC for her. when she first moved in, she recognized that she was vulnerable after a break up and it was bad to date Eric or Jack, so thereās no way she would be okay with Jack (who is grieving his fatherās death) dating anyone
she really did deserve more and her and Eric couldāve been a great support system for Jack.. I hate how they turned it into a love triangle bc itās so boring and I literally skip past those scenes
Jack was in such a vulnerable place before he started dating Rachel and what he really needed was a friend or just some sort of comfort.. I donāt want to hate on Rachel bc her character is rlly just bad writing but that man was not in the right headspace to be in a relationship and someone shouldāve stopped him š
I feel like Jack just felt so lonely and needed to focus his emotions somewhere else. also I think he truly wanted to be with Eric and Rachel was the closest thing bc of their competition
omg Jackās characterization.. him not used to compliments + being a workaholic ā¤ļøā¤ļøā¤ļø this is perfect
A for Effort Chapter 3 is out!!! This will be 9 chapters long and chapters 4 & 5 are already completely written and waiting to be posted once 6 & 7 are totally done as well!
dude By Hook or by Crook is one of my favorite Eric episodes ever and it makes me so sad..
before this ep you never see Eric being serious and you never get a sense of any hardships heās going through and heās mostly girl crazy
- first of all, you begin to see how other people treat him and why he always acts dumb/goofs off
- his tutor just straight up not believing in him even though sheās supposed to help him.. and he sees his friend receiving actual help and imagine how much that mustāve hurt
- like he genuinely wants to try and doesnāt want the easy way out but his tutor is constantly putting him down in the most condescending way
- the ending scene in Feenyās office ā¹ļø he just accepts that heās dumb and truly believes he will never make it :(
- I literally love Mr. Feeny ugh their relationship is INCREDIBLE and heās the only person to never give up on Eric
other than his wanting to reconnect with his brother, Jack runs away from all serious and genuine connections. the fact that he didnāt speak to anyone after graduating is SO concerning.
it makes me sad imagining how lonely he must have been after splitting from Rachel and the fact that he thought abt Eric every day is CRAZY š
The fact that Jack was always telling Eric that the world was gonna crush him and that he leaved him behind to go with Rachel to Peace Corps. And then 15 years later, the world crushed him instead failing the principles that he had at a young age and joining a shitty company and admitting to Eric that leaving him behind was the worst thing that he had ever done in his life... I don't know but all this information breaks my heart into a million pieces I'm-š

OMG YES he def has such an awful case of internalized homophobia :( his whole appearance rly changed too and he was overcompensating the whole time lmao. also I feel like he really hated how he felt towards Eric which caused him to treat their relationship/ differently
I hate how they changed Jackās character in s7 like yeah there were some funny moments but I liked when he was the sensitive and responsible one but he turned into such a bro š
he was very grounded in s5 and even told Shawn he worked every summer for his money and seemed like he never wanted to come across as spoiled
