Finally uploaded my portfolio flip through!!! This took my laptop quite a while to render haha, but I hope you like it!

Eyy y’all I got accepted into illustration!! Woohoo!! So here’s my rubric for the portfolio, the score was somewhat dissapointing to be honest, but hey the cutoff this year was 52, so at least I’m in haha.

I will make a sketchbook and portfolio flip through video when I have the time! Congrats to all the people who got in this year!

uhhhh hey what’s up?

Hope everyone is doing well.

This week I finally finished my first and last drawing test (woohoo!!) and now I’m just working on my self portrait.

This is a mixed media self portrait, constraint of watercolour, colour pencils, gouache, ink, and digital.

The portfolio is due in about 2 weeks and it’s getting me quite nervous haha... but yea I hope that everything goes well and no last minute surprises will happen.

hmmmmmmmmmmm... tags and explanations are real fun to write amirite??

but yea, it may be a good idea to make tags that tell the name and the medium of the art pieces, also explanations if the artwork has one or needs one to make sense. :)

Cool cool

So at this point none of my posts will be for my English project but here’s just an update on my portfolio!

Been stuck at home for the past few days and since I haven’t been doing anything as I am done all my studying for exams I decided to stay home and make a watercolour study (as a landscape piece)!

Yee this took around 4.5 hours and people said it’s good to include some landscapes so I guess here it is?

Ok cool! This is the update on the painting on the day of 12-09-2018

I think at this point I have pretty much finished the entire painting. Today I added the details on the heart and fixed some of the details on and around the hand.

Although j might need to come back into the painting later next week to fix up more bits around the hand but the rest of the painting is petty much done!

Although I was thinking that I might add something in the background?

Ok cool. So this week I’ve been working on potential ideas that I can draw for my next piece. I’ve been wrestling with a few ideas and I guess I’ve decided to settle on the idea of cats hanging out around a cat tree made of the word “cat”

So um yea, I might (or most likely) do this in coloured pencils.

Anyway, here is the progress of Sunday (12/2/2018)

I painted the heart and added some yellow-green highlights on the hands during the weekend, I also added most of the details on the hand and some of the heart since I had the time to.

So I guess it’s time to share what I have been doing (and hiding) for the past week.

From the start of this week, I’ve been planning on painting a piece in oil, and today (Saturday) I finally got my chance to do so.

Thoughout this entire week I’ve been doing colour planning for the hand, the heart, and the background. Today, I finally got the time to paint the background red in acrylics and try out oils by painting in the hand.

The paint does feel quite weird as it is much thicker than acrylic, but generally things work the same as acrylic when it comes to colurmixing, that’s good.

Hope that I can finish the basic colouring of this by the end of this week.

Progress of 11/21/2018

I just added the last face at the bottom right yesterday and also drew some hands and face studies in my sketchbook

This week has been quite loose, not really a specific project, although something big is in the planning stage at this point.

Ok cool! So this is the progress of yesterday (11/20/2018). I did not do anything on Monday as I was busy with other things during that period, but I did have to time to work on some things on Tuesday.

Yesterday, I did three watercolour self-portraits; each of them having diffeeent colour palettes. It was a fun experience, definitely a little hard, but I did learn how to control the watercolour a little more. Although there is a few things I still need to learn, and one of them is learning when to stop with the drawing haha.

I finally shaded everything and added some more furniture, the shading did give it more depth, so that’s good.

Welp going to go work on other things next week, I hope that will turn out well.

(I didn’t write much because I wrote a paragraph, no, essay on here, and I lost it all because I exited out of the app for too long...)

Cool, so I completely forgot to post once again.

But this week (progress of 11/12/2018 - 11/14/2018), I am working on one of my pieces for my drawing test to Sheridan illustration.

For this, I am drawing a view from a window. At first I chose a very large window looking into the courtyard, but since the scene was so big, I was unable to fit everything on the page. So I decided to switch to a smaller window on the door that also looked into the courtyard.

Even with this (which is supposed to be much easier to do than the big window), I still struggle with the perspectives of the objects on the page. It took me about two days to approximate where everything is to lay down the details.

I hope that I can finish everything before a thick layer of snow falls on everything haha...

Haha ops forgot to post for the last few days, but here’s something that I’ve been working on! (Progress 11/7/18-11/9/18) It’s a set of three cards with illustrations of my insecurities in the middle of the card.

So after ALLLLL that I lost them all on the sidewalk while walking home, but I was able to retrieve them the next morning and continue to work on them. I decided to replace some of them with the newer version.

Currently I am almost done all four, just need to finalize them with some tiny details.
