Sorry for the late upload today, I knew I should’ve put it on a queue but totally forgot and ended up getting sick and sleeping most of the day but here is part 3 and I’m very excited to present it to you guys <3

I love you 3/4 - Ellie x Reader, Dad! Joel x daughter! reader

Summary: After you're caught sharing a slight kiss you're forced to come out to your father, then four months later you're having to deal with almost losing Ellie not once but twice, and realizing after your trip across the US and back you've both grown a soft spot for the redhaired teen.

Warnings: Death, murder, details of a panic attack, the events in this story start the dreadful events in TLOU part 2 0.0

Your senses were on hyper drive, Ellie sat in front of you, her hand still wrapped around yours, she was still trying to catch her breath from your previous activities and her lips were taking on a slightly darker red shade. The old carpet was digging into your knees and you could the smell the mustiness of the house, you could also pick up the slight scent of your father, his uneven breathing and Ellie's pants, you could feel their eyes on you, waiting for your reaction. You were frozen though, you could feel your eyes welling up with tears but you weren't sure why. "Girls" Joel stuttered looking at you two "uh..." He mumbled, he wasn't sure what to say, We're you two about to..No he didn't want to even think about that. "Dad" You said standing up slowly, your heart was pounding, you could hear it. "We..-" He cut you off by holding his hand up "I..-" You huffed "I really like Ellie okay?" You interrupted "A-and I never got to find out about how you feel about this stuff before all of this bullshit happened but right now I don't care. I went almost four years without you..I'm sure I can do it again. Especially if I have Ellie" You stated confidently watching his face and body language, he smiled at you a bit chuckling "You coulda just said you were gay? Sweetheart, I've lost alot and I'm not gonna let something like you liking a girl make me lose you too. You're my kid and I love you no matter what stupid shit you pull, but this...sweetheart..you're just showin your love, you've been a loving person since you were a baby, constantly giving your sister and I kisses and hugs any chance you got. I'm not shocked" He said, the smile never falling from his face, so maybe it was silly to be scared that he was gonna leave you alone, in a world full of clickers, runners etc you started to realize, there were bigger problems than caring about if somebody was okay with your love choices. "Just...behave yourselves..you two still are technically kids" He said ruffling your hair "I started a fire, in the fireplace up here if ya'll get too cold in here" He offered before leaving back into the room you and Ellie originally put him in.

Whenever you locked eyes with Ellie you both immediately broke out in loud giggles, slowly sitting back down in your spot you let out another string of giggles "That was terrifying" You laughed looking at the redhaired girl who was watching you with a smile "I totally thought you two were gonna like...mortal kombat fight in the hallway" She giggled before hugging you tightly "I really like you too, Y/n.." She whispered squeezing you in the hug before pulling away shivering "Okay maybe we should take him up on the offer" She laughed seeing her breath from how chilly the room was.

You felt like a kid again, peeking open the bedroom door, sneaking into the dark room to head towards the fireplace, the room was significantly warmer than the previous room you two were in, you could hear your dad's snores from a little bit aways on the bed, he needed the rest, but at least he was up and moving now and not bedridden still. You and Ellie both sat in front of the fireplace leaning against each other for extra warmth, you pulled the throw blanket that was tossed on the floor in a swept area, (most likely something your dad did before he laid down and went back to sleep.) over you and Ellie as you both slowly laid down, ready to get a move on and get out of this fucking town.

"The next morning was like the others, you woke up with Ellie's arm wrapped around you holding onto you tightly, and your dad was perched in the window watching out for infected or living. Slowly moving Ellie's arm you carefully got up going towards your dad resting a hand on his shoulder "Morning.." You whispered rubbing your eyes, exhausted, You felt you barely slept at all but knew you needed to get going to take advantage of the sunlight. "How'd you sleep?" He asked not taking his eyes off the window, something in the distance drove him to want to watch, it was probably just another clicker but he wanted to make sure. "The next morning was like the others, you woke up with Ellie's arm wrapped around you holding onto you tightly, and your dad was perched in the window watching out for infected or living. Slowly moving Ellie's arm you carefully got up going towards your dad resting a hand on his shoulder "Morning.." You whispered rubbing your eyes, exhausted, You felt you barely slept at all but knew you needed to get going to take advantage of the sunlight. "How'd you sleep?" He asked not taking his eyes off the window, something in the distance drove him to want to watch, it was probably just another clicker but he wanted to make sure. "Eh...Still tired..but I slept" You muttered leaning against your dad's shoulder gently "How're you feeling? How's your stomach?" You asked carefully looking towards him "M fine, sweetheart, you and her did a good job of makin sure I'd be fine" He muttered softly, You nodded kissing his forehead before going to wake up Ellie. You carefully kneeled next to her rubbing your hand up and down her arm "El, Come on, we gotta get moving while there's still daylight" You whispered softly watching her groan as she stretched and rolled over, slowly taking in her surroundings before getting up. "Morning" She mumbled starting to put her shoes back on, you did the same listening to Ellie and Joel talk.

Two Months Later

This was going badly, you were so so close to the lab and yet now you were fucked, your dad was hanging on for dearlife while Ellie jumped down onto the bus door to help him out of the water, You were stuck on the other end, not able to reach the bus without the risk of falling in the freezing cold water..that was probably infested with clickers ready to eat you. "Joel!" Ellie screamed as the door jerked down from the weight and rusty hinges "Ellie! be careful damnit! Get off the door!" You yelled nervously, your hands shaking horribly, this was it this is how you all die, A fucking bus. "Ellie! Damnit! Grab my hand before you fall! Ellie! Grab my Hand!-" "ELLIE!" You screamed as you watched her fall through the doors and under the water, your dad disappeared on the other side of the water leaving you alone. You huffed backing up whimpering loudly "please don't be clickers" You whispered before sprinting towards the gap between you and the bus, jumping at the last minute landing through the windshield. You looked into the water seeing your dad struggling on a broken rail guard, diving under you tried to stay calm, you helped him tug on the bar for a minute before he shook his head and pointed to an opening, You huffed shaking your head persistent on helping him out before he started to yell something under water "Ellie!" You finally caught on before letting go and swimming towards the opening as fast as you could, how the fuck could you forget Ellie couldn't swim? You see her body floating in a clearing, she wasn't moving which sent you into a rush to grab her body and pull her out, as you attempted to push her body onto the broken road that lead out of the tunnel you saw Joel jump down from a ledge and quickly rush to help you start doing CPR "Dad! Please! Please you can't let her die! Save her!" You screamed before jumping to the side grabbing the gun from the back of your dad's belt aiming it at the group of fireflies approaching "Drop your weapon! get on your knees!" They shouted, you quickly shook your head "He needs to save her please!" You yelled keeping the gun trained on them, as you glanced back at Joel you felt the butt of a gun being slammed into your head knocking you unconscious on the ground.

It was dark, quiet, Your heart was racing and you needed to know if Ellie was okay. Your dad was gone, the room was tense, you didn't know where the fuck you were, one moment you're begging your dad to save Ellie and bring her back from drowning, the next your waking up in a dark tense room with no sound? You felt the walls, desperate to find a way out, that's whenever you feel a doorknob and doorframe. You pushed as hard as you could but you realized somebody had trapped you, your breathing started to pick up and your head started to feel fuzzy. "Dad! Dad!" You screamed loudly starting to feel the walls close in around you, you could hear gunfire and yelling which got your anxiety higher, that's when you heard it. Joel. "Y/n!? Ellie!?" His voice roared through the walls of wherever you were "Dad! Daddy! I'm here! Help me please!" You cried, you felt like you were about to die, you hated you couldn't see or really hear anything, you hated you couldn't see if you were in danger or not. You heard a couple more gunshots before your dad's voice again "Y/n!? Is Ellie in there too!?" He yelled, you could hear him moving whatever heavy metal that was blocking the door "No? No dad where is she?" You whimpered starting to panic more, as soon as the door opened your eyes burned by the sunlight, you immediately threw yourself at him though hugging him tightly "I was so fucking scared" You whimpered trying to calm your breathing fully "I'm right here, baby girl, I've got you, but we've gotta go find Ellie, she's in bad bad trouble" He said helping you on your feet before leading you down the hall, stopping at one of the dead firefly soldiers to hand you one of their guns, taking it you turned around keeping an eye on your dad's six while he did the same for you walking towards the operating room. "What's going on dad?" You whispered staying ducked behind an old receptionist desk "They're makin a cure but it involves taking Ellie's brain..She wasn't meant to make it out of the lab, only meant to make it to." He said, his tone dripping with venom, If your sister or hell even Ellie was here they'd probably point out that you and Joel almost looked identical currently, the same angry vengeful glare, the both of you knew what you wanted, Ellie, and you both wanted her alive and okay. As you rushed through the halls you shot anything that moved, in your mind nothing deserved to live right now. Nothing.

As you and your dad busted through the doors of the operating room all of the nurses and surgeons stopped watching you closely. The doctor quickly stopped your dad from grabbing Ellie, which in return resulted in you aiming a gun and firing, watching the doctor fall dead, you rushed in front of Joel heading towards the car garage hoping to find a way out. You kept a quick pace, holding your gun ready to shoot anybody that tried to stop you or get to the last two people you had left. You motioned your dad down the stairs and into the garage right as you were stopped by Marlene. "Y/n?.." She asked in shock "I expected Joel..but you..killing your own people. The people who saved you? That girls life could save thousands of others" She said sternly stepping closer "That girl, is my fucking girlfriend, bitch" You snapped shooting her twice in the stomach watching her gasp out in pain and fall "P-Please y/n...you can still save us, save the world" She begged "Please just let me live" She cried reaching for you "No. You or You'll people will just come after her..and she's too special to be around jackasses like you" You spat shooting her in the head before emptying your clip into her head, Joel quickly grabbed your shoulder pulling you away from Marlene's dead body, helping you into the car before driving off. He didn't say anything, just watched you through the rear view as you spoke to Ellie. "I'm sorry...I know you wanted to save the world...But...I love you and I can't stay in a world like this without you and then at that point why would we even repair the world anyways?..." You whimpered brushing her hair out of her face, the way the sun shined through the window made Ellie look like an angel, she was absolutely beautiful. "I-I'm sorry I wasn't there soon enough..I kinda realized after killing the...fifth or sixth...guy I loved you..That I was willing to murder a whole fuck ton of people just to hear your stupid ass dad jokes again" You chuckled tearfully before looking away trying to hold back a sob, you almost lost Ellie and had to kill somebody you considered your savior. You jumped looking over whenever you felt your dad's hand cover yours that was holding Ellie's arm to keep it from hanging off the edge of the seat. His thumb caressed your hand and her arm slowly while he drove towards Jackson.

"I thought I lost you both..and I don't ever want to go through that again..We're gonna go stay in Jackson..with Uncle Tommy..someplace safe you and Ellie can grow and have a chance at a normal relationship" He said softly, his voice cracking "Realized pulling her out of the water..That girl is just as special as you..and your sister..and I would do anything to protect you both. I wanted you two to be happy" He whispered, you looked at him pouting "Daad, you're making me cry more" You whispered sadly "I love you...and I'm sorry for everytime I said I could do it without you..I missed you so much and I can't think of going without my dad or Ellie" You whispered sniffling softly "Nah..You could make it without me..just easier with me" He teased trying to change the mood before he started crying himself.

Whenever you got to Jackson you were awoken by the car door shutting, you sat up tiredly watching Joel hug Ellie tightly, kissing the top of her head the same way he did yours after he'd see you crying or hurt. Slowly getting out you stretched and walked over, stumbling a bit still feeling drowsy, Joel smiled a bit pulling away from his hug to nod towards you "I think she's gotta couple things to say to ya, sweetheart" He whispered, Ellie turned around walking over hugging you back confused as you wrapped your arms tightly around her "I love you Ellie.." You whispered looking at her nervously "I..I love you and I realized at the hospital" You repeated, you watched as she narrowed her eyes at you "Kinda feel like I was about to die and you guys just aren't telling me" Ellie joked "But, I love you too, I realized..whenever..You overcame your fear of swimming to save me" She smiled softly, you blushed looking down "Well..I knew if you fell in and got ate by swimming clickers I wanted to go out with you" You mumbled flustered, Ellie just laughed shaking her head "Clickers can't swim silly" She giggled loudly, holding your hand she pulled you along with her as she followed Joel the rest of the way to Jackson, the car now long out of gas.

A/n: Woohoo first request, I was a little hesitant at first because I want to make sure my requests are written like my stories, with feeling and detail and I hope I accomplished that by the end of this story so just let me know how i did :)

Whenever you were brought into Jackson you were met with guns in your face, mainly by two men but one of them was a lot more lenient with you staying there, You believed that his name was Tommy, he welcomed you after the initial questions and tests and set you up with you own little room, it wasn't big or much but he said it was temporary until another unit opened up. For now you made due, using your time mainly in the kitchen helping the others prep meals for the town and other things, once Tommy helped move you into your new home, which just needed repaired, you quickly made to work making a little farming area outside.

It had been a couple weeks since you finally got your own home, you hadn't really baked since you moved in, trying to help the others out as much as you could, while still maintaining your food source in your backyard. Over the weeks you had met somebody named Joel, who you learned was the other man holding the gun in your face. He was closed off, at least to you, you always say him talking with Tommy and laughing with a teenage girl who you assumed was his daughter. You learned later that her name was Ellie, she was sweet and always came over first thing in the morning to help you bake for the other residents of Jackson, props she didn't really help baking but she watched you and learned how to do it while keeping you company and being a taste tester for you different treats.

"Y/nnnn! What're we bakin today?" Ellie cheered walking into your kitchen smiling brightly "We are making a strawberry bread cake with freshly grown ingredients and I finally made the perfect flour substitute so now maybe your grump of a father will accept them" You proudly stated smiling at the girl, watching as she giggled loudly "Joel is-.." She stopped, what was Joel to her? A father? A father figure? or just some guy who takes care of her? "Yea..yea Joel is a tough cookie to crack" She smiled using your phrasing from the other day "Alright, now, let's get started on mixing dry ingredients, I wanna make sure all these cakes are done by the time the patrols get back" You smiled watching as she took her usual seat on the counter next to your sink to watch you bake. You house was nice, you could tell whoever built it and the other houses knew what they were doing, you never thought you'd live with water or electric again but whenever you found Jackson that was the first thing you noticed.

After almost six hours of baking you were done, you liked doing it though, it gave you time to talk with Ellie, the first child you spoke with since the fall, and considering you were a middle school teacher it pained you seeing all the kids that turned infected; plus it helped feed the community, you weren't taking out of their found resources either, you grew it all and happily contributed it throughout the town, it was the only real way you knew how to pay them back for letting you stay, there weren't many kids, you weren't physically capable of going and fighting clickers like the others, so you stuck with helping them build/setup new cabins and cook little treats for everybody. Ellie filled the time with telling you the story of how she met Joel and how she wishes he was actually her father, how she always longed to have an adult go out their way to protect her, so she didn't have to learn at such a young age. You felt bad for her, Ellie was a sweet but stubborn girl, she reminded you of your younger sister. "Well....I'm happy you've made to here, Ellie, And I'm glad through your journey you found somebody like Joel..He sounds like an amazing man" You smiled placing the small cakes into separate containers, Deep down you know Joel had to of had someone before Ellie that he cared about that much, considering this was the first group of men you found that weren't ravaging assholes and that fact he went across the country and only kept Ellie's best interest in mind really showed his true colors.

Ellie shrugged a bit shoving some containers into her bookbag ready to help you pass them out, "I guess I kinda owe it to him? He helped me get this far I probably would've died by now" She mumbled, you offered her a kind smile wrapping an arm around hers to lead her outside to start your rounds. It probably took another hour to hand them out and you and Ellie still have 4 more containers together to pass out, splitting down the main road you stopped at the house you knew would be a problem, you didn't know why you still tried giving things to Joel, he always declined and acted like you were carrying the next world ruining virus and were ready to kill all. Looking up on the porch you saw him sitting in a rocking chair with his guitar propped on his lap "Hi.." You mumbled slowly stepping up on the porch "What're you doing here, y/n?" He grumbled, you frowned "I uh..-um.." You were stuttering, after hearing Ellie's stories about him you felt nervous under his watch, flustered. "Spit it out. I gotta start lookin for Ellie soon" He huffed sitting up straighter "Oh! E-Ellie she helped out today again..I wanted to drop off a strawberry- uh- bread cake" You stuttered watching him furrow his eyebrows "Don't you know flower started this entire damn mess?" He snapped standing up "N-No! I uh, I've been finding other things, not containing wheat t-to make a substitute for the flour.." You rambled, a little worried by the tone and body language, He looked around, catching eye of Ellie talking to Tommy stealing a piece from his food container and walking towards the cabin. "I don't want it" He huffed before going back inside, leaving you on the porch alone, you huffed, not letting his mean spirit get you down to happily pranced to Ellie "I'll see you later alright, hun? You need anything you know where to find me"

You woke up the next morning to Ellie pounding on your bedroom door, what the fuck? Getting up in a rush you swung the door open looking at her "You weren't awake whenever I knocked on the door and I got worried you left in the night a-and when the door was locked I-I thought you got infected or died" She rambled before hugging you tightly, you hugged her back tired and confused, the moment that really woke you up was Joel standing in your hallway peeking through the doorway "S-Sorry..Whenever you didn't answer I got Joel..." she whispered "N-no hun that's okay, no reason to be sorry, you were worried" You said rubbing her back before pulling away wrapping the blanket you had around your body before leading them both back out to your living room. "Ellie...you gotta help Maria today..better get on that" Joel said lowly, motioning her out of the cabin before closing your door sighing. "She cares about you" He said finally, turning around to look at you, you still had horriendous bed head and you looked like you just climbed out from under a rock (In your defense it was the best sleep you've ever had)

"I care about her..She's a sweet girl..one of the only people left her age that actually care about what's left in humanity" You whispered calmly going to the kitchen to get a bottle of water "She's cared about a lot of people..most em have died..so..whenever she cares about...un-infected she cares alot" Joel said, you nodded understanding what he was saying "I've noticed..I've seen kids deal with loss and grief...most grow resentment towards others..-" Joel cut you off "-But she's different" You agreed with him picking at your covers "Tried that..damn..strawberry? what the fuck did you call it?" He asked running a hand over his facial scruff "Strawberry bread cake" You whispered trying not to crack a smile, he sat down on the edge of your coffee table sighing "it was good..real good..Was kickin myself most of the night for not trying it sooner" He chuckled embarrassed rubbing the back of his neck "Ellie made you try it didn't she?" You chuckled watching him huff "Damnit she's right you can read people like a damn book" He grumbled before readjusting his sitting position "If..If you keep bringin them little cakes and other things over..I'll be happy to take em..." He smiled softly, You smiled back at him, maybe all Joel needed was an okay from Ellie to be friendly "Mmm..I dunno..I might need compensation now" You teased playfully, Joel laughed shaking his head a bit "How bout this..whenever I'm not on patrols..any hard labor you need done..I'm there" He offered, you smiled nodding "Sounds like a pretty good deal to me" you smiled softly, he smiled looking at you "Ellie..told me about how you guys met..and how you saved her..gotta admit Joel..You are one hell of a man" You smiled softly, he coughed a bit looking down now flustered, you giggled a bit resting a hand on his knee "I'm serious..alot of other men...sadly probably wouldn't of ever left your old QZ with her..you a good man" You whispered, nudging his knee a bit with your hand.

That night would start a landfill of good nights with Joel and Ellie, leading you to one night imparticular. You were standing on Joel's porch, waiting for him to answer the door "Hellooo?" You called sighing softly, almost then the door opened and there stood Joel in a towel with wet hair, panting like he rushed to the door "S-Sorry I can come back another time" You whispered nervously, he ran a hand through his hair "N-No just got a bit worried thinking something bad happened" He said smiling at you in relief "N-No I was gonna see if you were still coming over?...That broken window is bringing in a cold chill" You whispered nervously "oh! oh yea of course, let me...get dressed, come in" He said pulling you inside of his cabin gently before disappearing into his bedroom. You wandered, peeking into his kitchen "Mr. Miller! are you getting a second helping from me after Ellie gives you one?" You called seeing the extra containers in his sink "Totally not! I'm a good man remember?" He asked as he walked out, now dressed with his hair now maintained and under control. "Mmm You can be a good man and still be taking extras" You giggled as he walked closer to you standing by the sink, You didn't realize till now how close the two of you actually were until then, you could feel his breath on your face, not that you were complaining, somehow the man still had minty smelling breath in the end of mankind. "You gonna charge me extra for it?" He asked raising an eyebrow, you looked at him tightening your lips into a pursed line before resting a hand on his shoulder "Maybe...or maybe we could work out a deal?" You teased, trying to keep an upset face, Joel gasped playfully before chuckling "Gonna charge me extra? My little girl is the one who helps pass em out" He laughed leaning closer to you "Oh! So you're taking Ellie's serving" You teased giggling louder, he placed his hands on your waist, causing both of your giggles and chuckles subdue leaving you looking at each other. Joel couldn't help it, After losing Sara's mom, he was convinced he'd never meet anybody as amazing as her, as sweet or kind and yet here you were, and you were breathtaking.

"Joel.." Your voice pulled him out of his thoughts, he cleared his throat placing a hand on your cheek before kissing you, if it were anybody else you would've pulled away, knocked the dude the hell out for kissing you, but instead you kissed him back, running your hands through his damp hair, he moved his hands back down to your waist picking you up and putting you up on the counter. "How bout..you..start usin my kitchen..give me a chance to see ya everyday" He panted looking at you "Then we don't gotta do the walkin to each others houses and knockin" He continued as you pecked his lips gently "Are you asking me to move in with you sir?" you teased smiling resting your hands on his shoulder "Maybe I am.." He whispered, both of you jumped as the door slammed and Ellie cheered loudly "FUCKING FINALLY!" She yelled jumping up and down in excitement towards her bedroom.

The First Kiss 2/4 - Dad! Joel x Daughter! reader, Ellie X reader

Summary: You've been on a long trip the last week, between Tess dying and your dad injuring himself to protect you and Ellie, you really needed a pick me up, instead you both get kidnapped by creepy cannibals, barely making it out alive you and Ellie both realize something crucial to your guys's friendship

warnings: This is a heavy one, but I needed to pass the time so I can also get in some storyline of Part 2 in the series, attempted assault, murder, you and Ellie both murdering a creep, you being worried what Joel will think about you liking Ellie

The Apartment felt cold, like you guys weren't meant to be there, everybody was silent, you could tell Joel didn't like the idea of having both you and Ellie, you just kept quiet only speaking with Ellie to make sure she's comfortable and okay. Ellie laid on the couch, using her bag as a pillow and your jacket as a blanket. "Dad.." You whispered walking into his room, he was laying in bed with a notebook writing things down and counting rations cards. "Yea?" He asked looking at you, your chest felt heavy, you didn't want to ask but you needed to know. As tears brimmed your eyes you looked at him "W-where's Sara?..." You whispered, you watched his body tense, you knew something happened with your father, he wasn't the same as before but neither were you. "Not right now, y/n" He whispered, you could tell it was a touchy subject but you deserve to know, she was your sister. "Dad." You said sternly sitting on the bed next to him "Why are you caught up with the fireflies?" He asked "You're barely sixteen, just about the girls age you're supposed to be protecting?" He pressed more, his tone taking more authority "If I tell you..will you..will you tell me what happened with Sara?.." You asked looking at him "Fine" He huffed, you frowned sitting back against the wall next to him. "After Tommy gave me to the military..They ran out of room in the Austin QZ..." You whispered "They gunned the truck down..I managed to get out..run to the treeline and take off for town" You whispered sadly, you could feel his eyes on you "I stayed in different houses...starved..I got attacked by clickers one day..Marlene found me and brought me to their camp..At first I was lower rank..Older guys picked on me..grabbed me..Marlene found out and left them out for dead against the infected.." You mumbled, Joel was breathing shakily, his chest hurt, why couldn't of he have looked for you? "Then you came.." You whispered "I had to convince myself you were dead..I was almost getting myself killed looking for you.." You whispered sadly.

Joel was quiet, holding you tightly in a hug, you were quiet trying not cry, he didn't need to see that "Sara...Sara didn't make it..past Austin..Soldiers shot at us and she got hit..I-I couldn't save her.." he whispered, his voice shaky "Whenever Tommy told me he saw the dead truck passengers...I lost it..I thought I lost both my girls a-and I-I promised your mother to protect you two" He rambled, your dad had changed, he was broken, he was broken and trying. You hugged him tightly, wrapping your arms around his neck "I-I'm sorry dad.." You whispered "But..I'm here.." The room was quiet, Joel was quiet, but you still stayed with him till you ended up falling asleep leaning against his shoulder.

That Night you snuck out of the QZ, watching Tess grab Ellie after finding out she's infected made you huff, you didn't care people were coming, you aimed your gun at her growling "Let her go!" You yelled glaring, you glanced over scoffing as you saw Joel holding his gun pointed at you "Don't Y/n put it down!" He demanded, he knew he'd never shoot you never in hundred years but he needed you to stop. You grabbed Ellie's hand pulling her towards you before rushing down the path ahead "Y/n!" Joel yelled as you sped your pace up "Are you okay El?.." You whispered looking at her, You cared about Ellie, you couldn't help it she was just a couple months younger than you and you guys had bonded the past day, Marlene was right, she was special just not in the way Marlene thought.

Whenever you found your first safe house you ignored Joel and Tess, they're arguing about what they should do, You just stuck with Ellie "Ya know..He was alot cooler before all this.." You whispered nudging her shoulder "Oh yea? I bet" She sassed smiling playfully at you "He was..He was super cool..It's weird seeing him now" Admitting it was weird, but felt good it was weird seeing Joel, he looked exactly like your dad, and was your dad, but he acted nothing like your dad. "I'm sorry, Y/n..I overheard what happened with your sister.." Ellie whispered "It's okay..Sara was too sweet for this type of world.." You whispered looking at the ground playing with a random rock you found, Ellie watched you closely before slowly resting a hand on yours, she wasn't gonna say it out loud but whenever you stood up for her and held her hand the entire way here protectively had her face bright red with a blush, she had a girlfriend before, kinda, Riley, but she wasn't ready to talk about it yet. You accepted her hand squeezing hers gently before sighing as you heard Tess and Joel's footsteps, you pulled your hand away quickly standing up and looking at your dad. "You aimed a gun at me" You said sternly, he huffed looking at you "You've gotta understand y/n. I wasn't goning to actually shoot but I needed you to put the gun down. She's infected! She could turn at any minute and kill every one of us!" He argued before walking past you "Show me. Show me the fucking bite" He demanded, you watched Ellie nervously pull her sleeve up showing the bite mark "She's immune...it's why she needs to go to the lab" You huffed looking at him "She got bit two days ago, and she's fine" You defended, Joel sat down watching you two.

The rest of the night was awkward, you fell asleep watching over Ellie but not the same way Joel and Tess were, whenever you woke up you had your arm wrapped around Ellie protectively, your excuse you told yourself was to feel if she moved but it was comforting. It still felt tense and you hated it, but you stood your ground, nobody was hurting Ellie.

4 days later

Tess's death brought you and your dad closer together, and you were grateful but you couldn't think about that right now, Right now you needed to find a way out of here, you knew you should've left Ellie with your dad to make sure he's okay but she insisted you would need backup. Now you were being tracked by some creep after rescuing Ellie from becoming some type of main course to their dinner, you rushed into a bar hiding behind a counter nervously glancing at Ellie "Hide..I'm gonna go around and come up behind him" You whispered quietly, slowly crawling between counters nervously, you could hear him, taunting you and Ellie to fight him. You moved to a different spot whimpering whenever you heard him gasp and start to walk over making you crawl quickly to a different counter, he was gonna find you, and Ellie was gonna have to watch you get murdered.

Your heart was racing and the man was just feet away, tears brimmed your eyes and you knew this wasn't gonna end well, Joel was hurt, bad, Ellie was trapped across the room hiding behind a fallen cupboard waiting for you, whenever you peaked around the corner you were forced to the ground "No!" You screamed crying out, he grabbed you roughly flipping you forward before reaching for his belt, you struggling screaming out for help, you fought against crying and screaming as loud as possible before feeling blood splatter on your face, Ellie stood behind you two, her knife covered in blood and the man now bleeding from his neck, You quickly flipped over repeatedly slamming the brick next to you now into the mans head, you felt hands grab you quickly pulling you away and into a sitting position, you shoved them away crying loudly "No! No! no! Stop!" You cried swinging your hands around "Y/n Y/n it's me!" Ellie said sternly, You looked at her feeling relief wash over you before sobbing loudly, Ellie hugged you tightly playing with the tips of your hair "H-He was- He was gonna-" You sputtered choking on another sob "I know..I know..I've got you, y/n..I've got you" She whispered kissing the side of your head "C'mon We've gotta get out of here and back to Joel" She whispered before cupping your cheeks gently "Are you alright?..You're good to walk?.." She whispered nervously, you panted nodding, you glared at the dead body slamming your boot into his skull to make sure he was dead, Ellie quickly lead you out and towards the camp, it took you a minute to get to back to the house but whenever you did you were met with Joel stumbling out calling for you both. Ellie helped you rush to your dad letting you go so you could hug him, she stayed quiet watching the both of you. You explained to your dad what happened, your tone dull and missing any form of life as you spoke, Joel just listened trying to keep his tears back before hugging you tightly "Im so sorry baby girl" He whispered sadly keeping you close, he failed to protect you again. "Ellie saved me.." You whispered leaning back looking at him, he glanced at the redhead behind you nodding softly "I was wrong about you, kid..looks like you really are a good kid" He chuckled, you nodded humming in agreement, Joel sighed watching Ellie walk up to you kneeling next to you to wrap your hand, it being sliced open from one of the cannibals fuckers that was trying to kill Ellie. Joel could tell something was happening between you two, the way you always kept a hand hovered over Ellie's back or held her hand anytime you walked out into the real world, or the way Ellie watched you closely with everything you did, or the way she'd blush everytime you touched her hand or shoulder.

That night you were staying in a different house, not far from the last one, you just needed one with no broken window considering the raiders shot out the ones for the house you were staying in. The house still had beds and basically room setups so after clearing it out with Ellie you helped your dad in bed in the master bedroom. Now you and Ellie sat in an old kids room setting up shifts to keep watch "Y/n?" Ellie whispered after a moment "I...I thought I was gonna lose you..and..that scared me..because I didn't know..if..- nevermind, just I thought I was gonna lose you" She rambled, you looked at her smiling a bit "it's okay, Ellie..I've made it this far without dying...plus I can't leave you with mr. crankypants alone" You giggled nudging her shoulder, you couldn't put your finger on it but you really cared about Ellie, you wanted to hold her hand all the time, any chance you got, her skin was soft and her voice was soft and sweet, even though most of the things that came out of her mouth were the exact opposite of soft and sweet. "Ahhh true true" She smiled looking at you, the silence was comfortable, peaceful, other than your father's obnoxiously loud snoring. You both leaned against each other watching the sunset through the window "Do you think we would've met if this clickers thing never happened?" Ellie asked softly playing with your fingers quietly "I hope so...We click together nicely" You giggled looking at her trying to hold back even more giggles "Oh my god! That pun was horrible!" She laughed loudly, you smiled watching her in awe, she really was the prettiest girl you ever met, you thought of yourself as lucky, to be able to of been in a world where you and Ellie met and were so close in age. "Why're you looking at me like that? Ms. googly eyes" Ellie teased poking you gently "I dunno..you're pretty" You could feel your face heat up blushing, you never even had a boyfriend before the clickers came and after it wasn't exactly easy to find someone your age that was tolerable.

Ellie looked at you, you could tell she was thinking about something, or rather debating something but you couldn't tell what. That was until she grabbed your cheeks kissing you softly, you were stunned, watching as she pulled away nervously standing away from you quickly "I-I'm sorry I-Im sorry" She said going to leave the room but you grabbed her hand from your spot on the floor. "Ellie. Stop for a moment..." You whispered holding her hand gently "Are..Are you sorry you kissed me..or sorry you feel that way towards me?.." You asked nervously, Ellie huffed nervously, you could tell she was feeling trapped but you knew letting her run away would hurt you both. "I-I..Both.." She whispered defeated looking away from you "Ellie...I've...I've never had a relationship..like ever..but..I know I like you..and I haven't felt like this towards anybody..I wanna hold your hand all the time..and..I- I don't know how..I mean I don't care what my dad thinks but..I don't know what he'd think about us.." You whispered shyly, she nodded a bit slowly sitting down in front of you "Okay...So we take it slow..and keep it secret for now.." She whispered holding your hand with slightly more confidence, you smiled, looking at her before nodding. You both smiled at each other before giggling loudly, you brought your hand up to her cheek before kissing her gently, it felt right, like your brain already knew what to do. Ellie smiled against your lips squeezing your hand gently as you both pulled away, your heart and smiled dropped though whenever you heard Joel clear his throat from the hallway.

Found again 1 of 4 - Dad! Joel Miller x daughter! Reader, future Ellie x reader

Summary: You were meant to be killed after you were unknowingly handed off at 11 years old by your uncle to military, it wasn't fully Tommy's fault, they were yelling about quarantine zones and safety trucks transporting cilvians, he thought you'd be safe, but after almost two years of running and avoiding infected, military and the crazy ass survivors, you were finally at your wits end trapped while sacavanging before a woman finds you leading you back to your light

Warnings: cussing, talk of people being killed, infected being killed

September 26th 2003

You watched as your Uncle Tommy disappeared farther and farther into the distance, the truck shaking from the holes and broken pieces of road leading you out of your hometown in Texas. You were split from your sister and dad whenever the truck was crashed, uncle Tommy realized the safest thing for you to go with the groups of soldiers with many guns and other protective gear.

You were in the truck maybe an hour before it pulled to the side of the road, you could hear the rough crackling and static of the solider's walkie talkies going off "We're at capacity" They spoke, many people started to ask questions about what it meant, where they were supposed to go now, but you could tell something was wrong, they were loading their guns and getting off. You quickly slipped through the truck bed's boarded up walls, which had about 2-3 foot between them, running into the treeline, you didn't trust them and you knew your dad, sister and Uncle Tommy were meant to meet at the river, and you were right not to trust the soldiers, moments later you heard loud gunfire and almost all of the passengers now laid slump in a ditch.

You took off running quickly, in any direction you could that was away from those soldiers, you wanted your dad, why couldn't of you stayed with him?

December 2nd 2005

You were hyperventilating and needed to calm down, you were out of ammo and just broke your only knife in a clickers neck before you were attacked but ten others, they were pounding at the door screaming and wailing to get in the room, this was it, this is how you died. You bit your knuckle trying to hold back a sob before hearing glass shatter behind you "Hey! Kid, come on!" A woman yelled reaching her hand through the window, you didn't think twice and grabbed her hand crawling out of the room right as the door hinges gave out, clickers and runners rushing into the room ready to devour you. "I'm Marlene, you almost got yourself in trouble there" She said softly pulling you up off the ground "I-I'm Y/n..Miller" You sighed, almost forgetting your name for a moment, you hadn't spoke to anybody in awhile and hadn't needed to introduce yourself. "I have a camp, set up a few miles away from here....We're called the fireflies..why don't you come join us, you look way to young to be out here.."

August 14th 2007

"Y/n. I have a job for you" Marlene's voice came through your walkie, you grabbed it off your belt watching out of the window confused, she was supposed to be back already "Protect the girl. Protect Ellie. I got fuckin shot" Her voice cut through the speaker harshly "Got it..Marlene..Are you gonna make it?.." You asked nervously, she was the first person to actually help you after you lost Tommy and Joel, you didn't wanna lose her too. "I dunno..just protect her please, get her to the lab" She demanded, you switched the channel on your walkie fighting back tears as you marched down the hall "I need troops out finding Marlene! She's injured somewhere outside of camp! Now!" You yelled into the walkie before clipping it onto your belt.

You slowly opened the door to Ellie's holding room seeing her sitting on the floor curled up against the wall "Hi..I'm y/n..Marlene sent me" You said watching as she looked up at you with a glare "fuck you" She seethed "I'm not doing any of your stupid ass tests" She continued standing up "Listen. I'm not some smart scientist or anything, I'm a sixteen year old who sneaks out of the camp at night to smoke weed" You said establishing a slight layer of trust hoping she'd catch on "Why the hell are you telling me this?" She asked raising an eyebrow "Because, I feel like you're a trusting person and I want you to trust me" you said sitting a few feet from her reaching point "Why're you here?..Where's Marlene?" She asked, you sighed looking at her, she was like 10? you couldn't tell, you tried to steer clear of kids, they reminded you of your childhood and your dad and you didn't wanna think about him, he was probably dead somewhere walking around with mushroom plates growing outta his face. "She's been hurt..but..I've got our people looking for her..She wanted me to make sure nothing happens to you..you're a special person" You said scooting closer "Yea..everybody claims I'm this special fucking person but keep me chained in a room to run tests on me" She sassed "I know..I know..I'm not sure why you're special..but special enough that Marlene is going through very very long lengths to protect you" You explained.

You sat talking with Ellie for another two hours before Marlene walked in looking at you both "Y/n..I've found help but..I wanna make sure there's no bad blood..It's a woman and man, Tess, and Joel" She said, you furrowed your eyebrows "I don't know any Tess or Joel" You said clearly, your dad was probably dead by now, you had to convince yourself that so you wouldn't drive yourself crazy. Marlene looked at you hesitantly before calling out for them to come in, You kept your head down, packing your and Ellie's bag with sandwiches and a flashlight, a knife for Ellie and a gun for you. "Ellie...This is our help Joel and Tess, guys this is Ellie and Y/n..You'll be escorting them across the u.s" Marlene explained, you heard your men rush in to take Marlene to the medic leaving you alone, you wanted to turn around but you were also scared.

You heard footsteps then Ellie's groan as she thrown into the wall, you quickly cocked your pistol turning around and aiming at the two "Leave her alone!" Ellie yelled towards them, you froze, your hands shaky and your mouth went dry, there was your dad, alive standing infront of you again. Your dad. Where was Sara though? "Baby girl" He rasped watching you, waiting for you to drop your gun to hug you tightly, you hugged him back hiding your face from Ellie and Tess in Joel's coat collar holding back sobs "I thought I had lost you too" You heard your dad cry into your flannel sleeve "Damnit y/n what the hell happened?" He asked holding onto you tighter like he was in a dream terrified to wake up and not see you. "Uncle Tommy sent me with the military" You said softly, the smell of your father surrounding you was comforting and put you in a state of calm. "And you ended up with the fireflies?" He asked finally pulling away to look at you, you weren't his little girl anymore, you weren’t the 4 foot tall doe eyed little girl he last saw before he said goodbye to both of his daughters. Whenever Tommy had told Joel why you weren’t with him he lost it, collapsing once he got the chance in tears, he promised your mother, his wife to protect you two girls and he had managed to lose you both in one night, now here you were fully capable of survival in a world like this. He didn’t wanna think about what you went through to get here though.

“That’s another story..whenever Ellie is asleep” you said softly looking at him “I missed you..a lot..” you whispered, you heard Ellie grunt standing up “are you gonna explain y/n? He looked like he wanted to murder you five seconds ago” Ellie grunted standing up grabbing her back shooting a harsh glare towards Joel “This is my Dad. Joel..” you mumbled looking at her, you could see her face soften, one of the things you clicked about earlier was not having parents, sure you didn’t lose them the same way but you were still stuck without them, she was happy for you of course, but she was also a little jealous, she wanted that, she wanted a dad to come find her and rescue her from this.

“You guys need to start your trip back before it gets light out” Mark said sternly, you and him fought a lot, he was an ass and you never appreciated his snarky comments or creepy stares. Tess nodded in agreement letting you and Ellie stick between her and Joel as they lead you back to the QZ. Joel walked behind you, wondering if he really wanted you coming along, or if he wanted to do this at all anymore, you could stay in his apartment, stay safe from any harm outside but if the guards found a firefly, former or current they wouldn’t hesitate to shoot.
