I especially love the bits where it’s clear Akechi’s mind is clearly elsewhere and the reader is trusted enough to infer that.

The fire alarm at my school went off not even halfway through first period and we had to stand in the gradually increasing rain for like 15 minutes before they brought us inside the school next door and everyone was miserable and damp in the ensuing dismissal chaos

But at least I got my chem hw done!
