Throughout the Horner situation my heart absolutely breaks for the victim in all this. In addition to the disorienting and traumatic experience of the abuse and investigation- a process designed to erode at your livehood and strip away the victims time, money, mental health and social grace- I can only imagine how enraging it must be to have someone outright deny the abuse that you know to so clearly have happened.
It is actually psychotic to do this to someone- to haphazardly smear yourself all over their life, abuse your power and when the victim speaks up about what has occurred, when evidence is provided to the world, the perpetrator can just wave his hand and say “anonymous speculation” and journalists start making brain dead musings about if you somehow used ai to fake hundreds of screenshots.
I can not comprehend the erasure here and I will never understand it. Do you know how insane it must feel to watch a man who harassed you and abused his power- who did this nearly everyday, spoke to you everyday- look into a camera and say “that never happened. This is anonymous speculation”?
the mass gaslighting that is occurring is so deeply disgusting and sinister.
