We all know horrible fictional fathers - Darth Vader, Firelord Ozai, Gendo Ikari, Gabriel Agreste, every beloved main character post timeskip..
But what about the moms?
Sure, bad mothers are rarer, but they are out there, AND THEY NEED TO BE REPRESENTED
And I'm here to do it
Rules under the cut
• Please, do not submit real people
• Please, do not spam the form
• Neither of the characters used as my pfp or background are included automatically
If you want them in the tournament, please submit them
• The character has to be bad as a mother, not necessarily as a person
• The character can be a bad mother figure without being a biological mother, though such characters will take a lower priority on the poll
• This tournament will discuss abuse, so please be mindful of that
I will put a trigger warning for discussion of abuse under every poll, just in case
• The form will be open until November 15th
• Have fun

Before the contest started, I considered doing a second round for more cut content, or maybe other things like unsolved mysteries or easter eggs or glitches or something else related. But this was very tiring, so I don't think I'll be doing a second round anytime soon. Maybe possibly in the future, but not now. The whole contest was mostly a way to get people to tell me about super cool cut content anyway. Honestly, if you have a cut content or weird beta thing to tell me about, go for it! I LOVE cut content and beta stuff and glitches and unsolved mysteries etc. Anyway, my main is over here eyeofgender.tumblr.com.

Honey
Tumblr media
Honey was a playable character scrapped during development whose existence was discovered through hacking when the game was rereleased in Sonic Gems Collection. Her design is based on Honey from Fighting Vipers, and she was originally put in the game as a test. She was eventually added in the 2012 remaster of the game to be actually playable.
Honey The Cat was a character from the original version of Sonic The Fighters for arcades, who was unplayable but hidden in the game's code. She was added as a nod to the game's predecessor, Fighting Vipers, being a Sonic-fied version of one of the game's characters. A developer originally toyed with the idea of putting Sonic in Fighting Vipers, which led to Sonic The Fighters being made in the first place. When the game was ported to PS3 and 360, Honey was re-added via a secret code; pressing a certain button while selecting Amy allows you to play as Honey legitimately.

anti-piracy
Tumblr media
So, there was an official program put out to convert the original Higurashi Visual Novels to a GBA rom format to either play on emulators or a homebrew cart. This anti-piracy measure was intended to trigger if it detected that you were trying this on a pirated copy of the visual novel. After booting up the rom file, the screen will just have Rena insult you and then promptly dox you with your PC user name and IP address. I don't think this works in the final release, but people did get it working again in recent years. Since it doesn't work properly I think this can be considered accidentally cut content.

Dude
Tumblr media
Dude is an unused enemy that has 20000 HP but can only attack for 10 damage. Probably intended to be a boss considering its high HP, and is also part of an unused enemy formation called Dudetroop, which includes Dude, existing enemies Ghost, Vital Statue and Clawman, as well as the Gremlin and Gremlin Master, which are two other unused enemies.

meteor slime
Tumblr media
Silly little fella. It had the ability to attract nearby items, like a magnet, potentially forcing items into places they shouldnt be if not handled properly It was scrapped because the boom slime already put stuff in bad places when not taken care of good, and as development continued, the dervish slime eventually ended up sucking stuff in instead, making the meteor slime kinda pointless I still think it was fun & cool tho

SNES CD-ROM
Tumblr media
The SNES CD was a project developed by Nintendo in partnership with Sony. Plans existed for both a CD-ROM add-on for the SNES and a hybrid console capable of playing both cartriges and discs, called the 'Play Station'. Eventually the partnership fell through, with Nintendo announcing it's end the day after Sony had announced it's existence. Nintendo then partnered with Phillips, but that didn't work out either. These events would lead to the release of the CD-i Zelda games and Hotel Mario; and, of course, to the creation of the Sony PlayStation.

dream nail dialogue
"
Do not think…
Do not speak…
Do not hope…
Do not…
…"
in Hollow Knight you acquire an item called the dream nail which lets you read a creature's thoughts when you use it on them. basically all NPCs and even most of the enemies show *something* when you dream nail them, but there are a few that don't. the bosses Pure Vessel and the Hollow Knight (who are the same entity but at different points in time) have cut dream nail dialogue. and...it adds a new level of heartbreak to what are already gut-wrenchingly sad fights. (CW for self harm and body horror if you look up the Hollow Knight fight) mostly the dialogue for the Hollow Knight seemed to actually be the thoughts of the Radiance, the god who caused the infection and who is sealed inside the Hollow Knight, but one of the cut lines is fairly clearly a thought of the Hollow Knight: "...Father?..." the Hollow Knight's father is the Pale King, who created it and anywhere from thousands to hundreds of thousands of other vessels for the purpose of containing the Radiance to save Hallownest. the Radiance likely does not have a father, so we can assume that thought is the Hollow Knight's. Pure Vessel's dream nail dialogue is even worse. it gives the impression that it's intentionally suppressing its own mind, meaning it understands what's going on and is desperately trying to be the perfect vessel its father requires it to be. thing is, the vessels are supposed to be mindless, so the Radiance doesn't have anything in her prison to corrupt. the fact that it has a mind to suppress means it's doomed to fail from the start. it's willing to withstand torturous conditions for eons and doesn't seem to understand that this will not work. whether it's still trying out of a sense of duty or because it wants to save the kingdom or because it wants to help its father or if it wants to prevent the other vessels from dying in vain, I don't know. (the other vessels were tossed down a hole like garbage, Pale King is a terrible father.) I can say with some certainty that the dialogue was cut for two reasons: first off, they're not supposed to have a mind. it's canon that the Hollow Knight does have *something* the Radiance can corrupt, but adding that dialogue might have been considered a little too much of a mind by Team Cherry. second, in the Hollow Knight fight, you have to meet certain conditions to have another character restrain the boss so you can dream nail it and get to the Radiance to beat the crap out of her, adding other dream nail dialogue to the fight would make it a bit confusing. currently dream nailing either version just makes the sound hitting something unbreakable with the regular nail does, the only time it doesn't is when the other character helps you get into the Hollow Knight's head. the cut dream nail dialogue can be found on the Hollow Knight wiki, either in the cut content page or in the trivia sections on the Hollow Knight and Pure Vessel's pages.
original story
From glimpses in the Concept Art book, Bayonetta 3 was originally supposed to have much more interactions between this game's Bayonetta and the ones from the previous game, as well as much more interesting set pieces. A very big thing about Bayonetta 1 and 2's stories is the interactions between Bayonetta and the other characters which flesh her out and humanize her a lot. In Bayo 3, she was alone for most of the game which makes the current ending very unsatisfying for a lot of people since we don't see the bonds that are supposedly there. The original story would have much more of the interactions which is especially great since Bayo3's Bayo is the little Cerezita we meet in Bayo1. As for why all this was cut, it was probably time constraints.

Moonjumper
Tumblr media
The jist of his character is that he is the corpse of a prince, and his two rivals are the princes ghost and the princes ex. The 3 fuckers want to rule over the same area so competition. Also moonjumper I think only appears on the horizon, meaning he is the only 2d character in a 3d game which is pretty dope.
They were a cut character that was originally supposed to be pretty important, but all we got was gamefiles of vague information, a flat character model, a bit of dialogue, and some music. That hasn't stopped many different and wildly unique headcanons, designs, and stories from taking shape from the original scraps of this one axed character.
The third area/chapter in the game had a much different story in its concept stage, and even though the level was designed enough to be playable for a demo, the devs decided to simplify the story for that area from three central characters to one and a half. Originally, he was a prince that met with a terrible fate at the hands of his obsessively jealous princess, and he somehow got trapped on the horizon without any memories of his original life, instead going mad. He was going to offer information about the area to help to the protagonist, though he really wants to manipulate and control her and everyone else into being unable to leave the area. Mj's backstory was ultimately given to the new central character, Snatcher (who also existed but got a bit of a personality shift with his new spotlight), his musical theme (and somewhat his design) repurposed for the game's item dealer, and MJ himself was removed from the game. Bits of the original story are still scattered around (a spectral body outline on the wall, a face painted in the attic of an icy manor, the scrapped explorable area that still exists out of bounds in the final version of the game, a broken tower), but the character only exists in mods, fanworks, and the concept artist for the original level fleshing out his ideas in art. He has a lot of speculation about his full backstory, abilities, and role, but there's very little sources to have anything beyond theories.
okay. so. let me give you the basis of a hat in time's third (or second during the time moonjumper still existed) chapter. evil ghost guy steals the protag's soul and makes her do shit for him and along the way you can get Lore on why he's a ghost and turns out Another ghost-like entity that you encounter in the chapter killed him while they were both Alive. its more detailed than that but that is Not the point. ok. ghost guy who steals your soul. his name is snatcher. ghost guy who Killed snatcher. her name is vanessa. Where does moonjumper come in you may be asking. well. ORIGINALLY moonjumper was in snatcher's place. but! snatcher also existed in the game at the same time as moonjumper- just with a different backstory. eventually, moonjumper was scrapped, and snatcher filled that role. there are So many things involving moonjumper that got just outright removed because of this. However. there are also things that Didnt get removed that are still in the game that can be traced back to moonjumper, mostly through his design being different from snatchers- moonjumper's design is much, much more closer to the design of moonjumper/snatcher while he was still alive opposed to snatcher, who is just a purple ghost noodle. but even then, their human design and moonjumper's design still have quite a few differences. many people in the fandom/fan community of a hat in time like to try and incorporate moonjumper back into the story, and everyone's different takes are always fun to see :)
He was originally to be the remains of the prince, and was to haunt (and I believe attempt to take over) Subcon Forest. I’m pretty sure he was scrapped because a) there would have been too much going on in that one region and b) Snatcher was the spirit of the prince and in charge of the forest, so maybe they decided it was a little weird to have two characters come from the same dead guy. Also he would 100% have been a tumblr sexyman
Moonjumper is a cut character from A Hat In Time. Originally, they were going to live in Subcon Forest, and have puppetmaster motifs. He was also going to be the prince killed by Vanessa. The motifs and being killed by Vanessa were instead given to Snatcher, my little scrunkle doo.
Apparently originally there were supposed to be three characters for the Subcon Forest level, Moonjumper was supposed to be the Prince in the original story, but was later replaced with the Snatcher, who wasn't the Prince in original story. He still had NPC files on the full release of the game, but it wasn't a model, rather just 2D image with particle effects
He was a scrapped antagonist for the level of Subcon forest! Moon Jumper was scrapped due to the Snatcher being the main character for subcon forest, and not having room for subplots. Early developer commentary states that the Moon Jumper was stuck in the horizon and that his role throughout the level of Subcon forest was to get Hat Kid to join him in the horizon.

It would have given us one tailed baby vulpix and cute baby meowth and they TOOK IT AWAY FROM US. they probably thought they had plenty of baby pokemon as is, and redesigned some to better fit the pokemon evolution line.
Just Pokémon that were cut or reworked to be completely different. It was amazing when the demo leaked.

Welcome + Rules
Welcome to the Tumblr Found Family Adoption Agency! Here, we present your blorbos to the masses to have them vote upon whether they should be added to the collective tumblr found family or ditched on the roadside. Submit your blorbos here:
The rules are: 1. Play nice; be respectful to others. I will hesitantly allow anti-propaganda for now, but will change that if people get too mean 2. Blorbos can be of any age, since a found family can be just that. So feel free to submit a one-day old infant or a ten thousand year old tree, if those are your blorbos 3. No Harry Potter 4. No real people (might make an exception if it's funny) 5. For the moment, no OCs. All your OCs are great and I'd feel sad if they got rejected from the found family F.A.Q. under readmore:
(No one has actually asked any questions, but these are the ones I'm anticipating) Q. How does this work? A. A post featuring a blorbo shall be made, stating who they are and their source material. A poll will be attached set to one week, asking if we should "adopt" or "ditch" the blorbo. At the end of the week, based on the result, I will announce if they blorbo has been adopted into the tumblr found family or ditched on the roadside Q. What is a found family? A. A found family is a family you find for yourself. It is a term often used in fandom to describe a group of characters who aren't related by blood (although a few members might be) but have come to think of each other as a family through circumstance. Alternatively, they might not be officially recognised as a found family in canon, but wider fanon regards them as such Q. Is this a tournament bracket? A. Nope, blorbos aren't competing against each other, they're only here to be judged by you. We are here enternally submitting blorbos (at least until I run out of steam or pass away lol) Q. I'm not sure if my blorbo counts because of ___ reason? A. If it's not any of the reasons mentioned in the rules, then feel free to send an ask. Or just submit them anyway and I'll decide Q. I submitted a blorbo and they haven't been posted. Did you get them? A. Again, feel free to send an ask. I don't have a regular schedule for posting these. Somedays there'll be batches of polls, others there'll be one or none Q. My blorbos are a duo/trio/etc., who cannot be separated. Can I submit them as a group? A. While I would prefer to stick to individual characters, if you have some who absolutely cannot be separated, I might make exceptions. Most likely, I'll make a poll asking if they should be judged as a group or individually, since there's a lot of media I won't be familiar with Q. My blorbo got ditched on the roadside! Fuck you! A. Friend, as a fan of Theseus from Hades Game and Chloe from Miraculous Ladybug, I understand what it's like to have your fave hated by fandom. Anything decided on this blog can never affect your personal headcanons, so go in peace with your middle finger held high Q. What are your icon and header? A. The icon is of the Pokemon Bouffalant and Natu, based on a series of trading card art where Bouffalant finds two Natu and rescues them - the true spirit of found family. The header is a group of characters called the Black Ravens from the Professor Layton series - a group of ragtag working-class kids who work together to make a black market

the plot
When Electrosphere was localized and translated for English markets, they absolutely GUTTED the game, removing cutscenes, voice acting, and the diverging plotlines from the game. Basically took one of the best parts of Electrosphere (the plot) and removed it, as well as cutting a bunch of missions. The Japanese version has 52 missions, spread throughout the branching plotlines, while the international version was cut to 36 linear missions with a much simpler plot. The content was apparently cut due to Namco drastically decreasing the localization budget for the game early in the process. No reason for the budget cuts was ever given. Despite Electrosphere's plot being Japan exclusive, it is still considered canon in the series' official timeline.

Korean cats
Tumblr media
youtube
In the Korean version of Super Paper Mario, there exists 11 unused stages, with an artstyle that doesn't match the rest of the game. These stages come with collision. A few of them have these cute anthropomorphic cats in them, which are non-interactable and don't even have collision. They may have been intended to be NPCs, but they're built straight into the levels instead of being objects placed in the levels. The cats don't match the Super Paper Mario style, but in my opinion, they don't seem to match each other's styles either. Four of the cats appear together in a couple levels and are named after various Super Paper Mario developers, but one of them appears alone in multiple levels, and its Maya group labels it as the player character. The weirdest thing is that these files only exist in the Korean version of Super Paper Mario and no others, which means they were added in after official release. The biggest theory for this is that some developers were starting developement for a new game using Super Paper Mario as a base. If this is the case, nothing has come of it, which is a real shame; the art looks really cute and I would've loved to see what kind of game this would be.
