eroticism of the machine this, eroticism of the machine that. what about the AROMANTICISM of the machine. what about the electric comfort of looking at a beautiful turbine engine and knowing that it is just like you. what about the urge to cut open your chest to prove your heart is made of wires and your ribs are made of steel. what about that
i feel like the elder scrolls is probably the worst fictional world to get transported to. like no matter what you do you will eventually get tormented by hermaeus mora because he will sense that you know something that he doesnt and then hes going to get really mad that you cant fully recite the wikipedia page on the japanese raccoon dog.
"I read some book once detailing how to perform the Black Sacrament. You know, to summon the Dark Brotherhood? It's got to be a joke, right? I mean, if you can source fresh body parts for the ritual, what in Oblivion do you need an assassin for?"
Oblivion has the weirdest aesthetic choices going on. Everything is super bright and saturated, the characters look silly and almost bordering on cartoonish, and the voice acting and delivery tends to be pretty silly. The whole things has such a strong classic fantasy vibe compared to the other tes games, but also there's a bunch of realistic gore and rotting corpses and really dark questlines with gross visuals (for the quality of those visuals). it's such a weird game.
