Switchover: Asylum to Institution
To the patients that remain at Dalton Asylum, a new building has been built and opened to be used for this year onwards.
You can view the new building tour here.
From this announcement, you will need to pack up and the guards will transfer you and your belongings over to the new building and you will be shown to your own bedroom (no room-mates) where you can settle in properly.
We're very aware this is a big change so the next week will be quite messy so we ask for your co-operation.
Next Monday (the 3rd of February) will begin a stricter but more stable environment for all the patients.
Thank you.

Name: Jeff Lowry Code: Blue Age: 20 Disorders: Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Sleep Disorder. Formally: Syndrome of Subjective Doubles Admitted: 9 October 2011 Looks like: Riker Lynch Role: Closed
Jeff always believed that there was someone just like him somewhere in the world, just opposite. When he took a left step, they’d take a right. When he laughed, they cried. When he walked to school, they walked home. He was obsessed with this idea that he wrote letters to his doppelgänger in hopes they did the same thing.
Jeff kept the thought secret until he was 14 and he saw a band on TV - Haven. The blonde guy in the band was identical to him, and Jeff knew right away he had found his doppelgänger. He told everyone he knew that Sinclair Langdon was his double, even though the rock-star was 3 years older than him and they were nothing alike.
So Jeff did his research and he found out that sometimes his double might do things differently - not completely opposite to him like he had thought. His double could lead his own life, and that’s what Sinclair was doing. Jeff was eventually admitted to Dalton Asylum to be cured, but he’d still follow up on Sinclair to see what he was doing.
One day news came through that Haven was going to stay at Dalton, and Jeff now waits for the day they arrive, finally going to meet his double.
Updated: After meeting Sinclair, Jeff has settled down to where he no longer has his original diagnosis of Syndrome of Subjective Doubles, and now remains at Dalton Institute for his PTSD and a mild sleep disorder.

Name: Cameron Pike Code: Blue Age: 26 Disorders: Depression, Night Terrors, Anxiety Admitted: 15 October 2012 Looks like: Ian Somerhalder Role: Closed
Cameron didn’t have the best adolescence. When he was 16, his father was killed overseas by a grenade while in hostile territory. Then not a few months later, his mother died giving birth to his little sister Lacey. He was a 16 year old orphan who had to raise an infant from birth.
Lacey and Cameron got along well and he never came across any real problems with her. Until she turned five and got very ill, and it was discovered she had lung cancer. Cameron worked day and night to raise money for her treatments, which stressed him too much that he started to crack.
His friends noticed first - he always looked tired, got grumpy easily and would panic if the phone rang, thinking it was the doctors with bad news. Finally, on of his friends took him to a therapist and after a long session, he was diagnosed not only with paranoia, but also night terrors and insomnia.
He refused to get treatment until Lacey was okay - which was two years later. She was finally in remission and he knew he had to help himself now. He sent Lacey off to live with her grandparents and booked himself into Dalton Asylum. He works harder than anyone to get better, because he wants to see his little sister again.

Name: Alphonse Smythe Code: Orange Age: 12 Disorders: Dissociative Identity Disorder Admitted: 9 May 2010 Looks like: Dakota Goyo Role: Open
Alphonse and his two older brothers were always on the move since his father was a politician and had to travel across the world. From the week he was born, Alphonse was jetsetting from from Europe to the USA, which took a toll on his mental well being.
While he loved to read and play games like any other young boy, Alphonse also liked to talk a lot. His first imaginary friend came when he was barely 18 months old, and many more followed. His parents and brothers chalked it up to a great imagination, thinking he'd be brilliant like his father one day.
When he was four, he started insisting they call him "Leonardo" and would get extremely upset if they called him his own name. That lasted about a week before he was back to being his normal self, looking confused when they brought up Leonardo.
Years passed and things progressed to the point where Mrs. Smythe and her sons settled permanently in Paris in hopes Alphonse will calm down. He was taken to countless doctors and psychologists until he was diagnosed with Dissociative Identity Disorder when he was 8.
While being grounded in one city helped, Alphonse still dissociated daily, making it hard for him to function normally. After months of outpatient therapy, the Smythe family finally decided it was best for their son and brother to move to a place that would really help him.
And that's how Alphonse was admitted to Dalton Institute at age 9. He's been there ever since (3 years later) and still requires constant care as he's prone to fly into rages or become upset easily.

Rules for Roleplayers
No OOC nonsense: No one wants to see any OOC drama on the dash. This includes bullying of other roleplayers, complaining about storylines, etc. Keep that out of the tags and discuss it somewhere else if you need to do it.
No god modding: Your character is your own, so don't control someone elses by making their character say or do things they haven't said/done. If you want to discuss plot points with another member, message them and discuss it privately.
Length of posts: While this is both a GIF and a para roleplay, you need to keep the para lengths at least 4-5 sentences in length and have at least 2 para's. There is no limit for GIF replies.
Inactivity: 5 days without any new posts will get you a warning - you'll then have 24 hours to explain the reason for absence or post a new gif convo or para opening. Posting a photo of your character doesn't count.
Don't pick for appearance: When you're choosing your character, please don't just pick a character for their faceclaim. Make sure you can actually play the character and portray their disorder well. No use playing a character with rage issues if you're just going to turn them soft right away.
Don't be invisible: This mainly applies to orange and red level characters who may have a lot of power. Please don't make them so they can never get hurt - it takes the fun out of things if they are always bouncing back. Even a psychopath can be hurt from a stab wound.
Graphic content: Since this is a mature roleplay, there will be triggers and graphic content such as sex, drugs, alcohol, self harm, etc. If you're uncomfortable with this and get triggered easily, this isn't the RP for you.
Changing things around: While things in the last RPG (Dalton Asylum) were a bit more flexible, this RP will not be allowed room changes, rank changes, etc. If your character is upset about something, they need to work it out themselves like adults.
Include everyone: If you see an open para or gif convo, join in even if you normally don't speak to that character. Multiple people can reply to the same open starter so don't let that hold you back.
Under cut: Sex, long posts, etc, do not have to go under the cut. If there is a challenge or something that states it goes under the cut, then that's what you do. Otherwise things can be open on the dashboard.
Photos of facecasts: Only post a photo of your facecast once a day - the dash will get clogged if it's all just photos.

Name: Camille Staton Code: Orange Age: 19 Disorders: Psychosis Admitted: 28 May 2012 Looks like: Seychelle Gabriel Role: Open
Camille had always been a happy young lady - she had a lot of close friends and spent a lot of time going around town with them.
But when she was 16, she started to hear things while she was working part time at the local coffee shop. She hadn't noticed anything odd for a long time because it was pretty busy and she chalked it up to people talking. She got worried when she started to hear her name called out, or whispers in her ear, accompanied by someone watching her from the corner of her eye.
Things escalated quickly and shortly before her 17th birthday, she was found standing in the middle of the sidewalk, shaking visibly and terrified to move. When questioned, she said she was being followed and she was too afraid to turn the corners.
After a brief psych evaluation, she was admitted to Dalton Institute to get the help she desperately needed.

Name: Leslie Harfeld Code: Red Age: 20 Disorders: Psychopathy Admitted: 5 July 2012 Looks like: Vanessa Hudgens Role: Open
A cheerleader in high school, Leslie was always one of the popular girls. She dated a guy from another private school for a few months but she became increasingly jealous of his friends.
When she found out he was hanging out with his friends (both male and female) she flew into a rage and ended up fighting one of the other girls - screaming and threatening to kill them all.
The boyfriend broke it off with her because of all her jealous rages and she snapped. She tried to kill him when she saw him in town but was detained and arrested. It became apparent she needed mental help and was sent to Dalton Institute to get it.
Leslie has hardly settled down, and although she's over her ex boyfriend, she still gets angry easily and can be found threatening or attacking other patients.
