We as a species do not deserve manga baby Grogu's level of cuteness.

I loved the Grogu training scenes with Luke so much in BoBF and all the green colours ~
Some close-ups as well:

Edit: @daprincessknight helpfully pointed out that I’d accidentally given Luke two left hands 😅 … hazards of using your own hands as reference I guess ! Here’s the fixed piece lol

Re: last reblog every single day I think about this one time travel fic where Luke and kid Ben and all of his other padawans at the temple are sent back in time to the Clone Wars and in order to stop Palpatine they get the incredible idea of pretending to be a different order of Sith who are fairly chill with coexisting in a world with Jedi but hate nothing more than the Baneite Sith and are looking to wipe them out because of theological disputes. And Luke has to go around pretending to be a darksider with Ben as his little Sith apprentice while they go and free slaves and kill Hutts. And at one point Luke accidentally does a force ability that reacts wrong with the physiology of this one bad guy alien and the dude just. Melts. And then of course rumors of this Sith Lord with the ability to melt people start going around so Luke has to single-handedly figure out a way to make Force Melt real.
Anyway I’m constantly thinking about Force Melt

the first sith to discover force lighting must have freaked out. Like imagine being used to just moving things with your mind and that happens. I’d be scared.

Bringing my two cents to the (in)famous Luke "Chanel Boots" Skywalker joke because I actually have weird thoughts about Luke and fashion tropes that go beyond haha gay blonde twink like luxury brand.
Thinking about Luke's characterization and fashion as a narrative device. The significance of Luke leaving Tatooine with literally nothing but the clothes on his back and donning Corellian Bloodstripes at the end of A New Hope.
Thinking about Luke's wardrobe gradually transitioning from lighter colors to black throughout Episodes IV-VI.
Thinking about the sheer intentionality of Luke having an all-black wardrobe Return of The Jedi onwards. Is it to honor his father? To mourn him? To remind himself of who he could be and who he already is? All of the above? Thinking about the deliberate asymmetry of Luke's single black glove. Thinking about the white flap on his chest.
Thinking about Padmé and how she was molded into fashion since birth, the extravagance of her outfits and makeup as an Amidala. Thinking about how Luke seems to mirror her regal anonymity with his cloaked grim reaper fit. Thinking about Luke's disconnected relationship with his late mother and wondering if he ever felt the same level of restrictive empowerment she did when she wore her gowns.
Thinking about the nuances of queer fashion and how it can equally be as empowering and restrictive to the wearer.
Thinking about the white and orange prison uniforms in Andor and the colors of the Rebel Alliance.
Thinking about my old Modernist Literature professor who wrote her thesis on the colors of stockings in D.H. Lawrence's fiction and how women characters chose to wear bright stockings under their long, billowing skirts that no-one else but themselves could see. Thinking about the color pink in Legally Blonde. Thinking about reading dress and fashion as a legitimate pathway to literary analysis. Thinking about the utter significance of Luke's entire outfit. All of his outfits.
Thinking about those damn Chanel Boots.

this is just me engaging in fandom wank but i think it's really reductive and not true at all to the source material when people decide to make Owen like, abusive to Luke just for the angst factor. Like, that boy can still have intense daddy issues all while still having a father figure raising him through his entire childhood who loved him very much. Imo the sheer fact that Owen is explicitly not his father and doesn't claim to be would be enough to give him issues, especially when you consider that while Aunt and Uncle are their actual familial titles, they're only reflective of a legal relation and not of an actual blood tie, all while presumably living in a culture where explicit blood relations are considered important due to slavery reasons.
Meanwhile his actual blood father existed as this nebulous figure with a cool job who was able to leave the humdrum of Tatooine and never come back, and who everyone claims Luke takes after but otherwise isn't spoken about in any great detail. And since nobody had any clue who his mother was, of course Luke would want to know everything he can about that guy and be like him, fixating not only on his desire to be someone's son, but his desire to specifically be that guy's son, especially after he learns that Anakin was a Jedi. Compare this to Leia who lived her entire life (even though she knew she was adopted) calling her parents her parents. While she might have had questions about her birth parents, having parents who explicitly claimed her as their daughter was nothing she ever wanted for.
So idk Owen being this supportive and loving figure while also shying away from explicitly calling himself Luke's dad to me is far more angst-inducing than an Owen who's like, a cartoon abuser, especially when you consider how Luke's relationship with Vader ultimately turns out. Owen is quite literally just Doing His Best, and I don't even think there's reason to believe he's even that stingy with his affection toward Luke, beyond just sort of being of a gruff farmer guy (I come from a long line of gruff farmer guys, so I get it). However, unfortunately even when parents do their utmost to give their children the lives they deserve all while still letting them know they love them, oftentimes they do fuck up in ways they're blind to and fuck up badly enough to leave their children with lasting issues, though through no real explicit fault of their own. That's just the tragedy of being human and having relationships, unfortunately. Anyway this is just my screed to say it's okay to write Owen Lars as a decent-to-good father to Luke even if you want to go all in on Luke's daddy issues. They're not mutually exclusive, I swear.
