I think some people forget that some literature and some media is meant to be deeply uncomfortable and unsettling. It's meant to make you have a very visceral reaction to it. If you genuinely can't handle these stories then you are under no obligation to consume them but acting as if they have no purpose or as if people don't have a right to tell these stories, stories that often relate to the darkest or most disturbing parts of life, then you should do some introspection.

#writing tag #i can't handle many darker topics but the stories that include them or even center around them still deserve to exist #as art or as someone's vent or what have you #life isn't all sunshine and roses and you gotta get your demons out somehow. or take the demons from real life and put them on paper #so you can contain them and process them in a controlled environment #or whyever else you may write/read that stuff! #as someone in the tags said you can take issue with *how* an author tackles a subject but otherwise let things be as they are

When straight authors include random hints in scenes that their characters fucked off-page or outright show it on-page, it's dumb and annoying and I don't care. When I do it it's to bless myself and my readers with the beauty of lesbians and also an act of spite against all the authors who are apparently allergic to letting their lesbians/sapphics get nasty.

#I may be stingy with my sex scenes but that doesn't mean I'll shy away from fade-to-blacks or hints in inn scenes #(stingy as in i will only include them where it serves the plot/characterization) #the one exception is there was a chapter in one Witcher book that starts with the end of geralt and.... triss I think?? doing it and #triss(?) got really loud and a random guy in one of the buildings nearby shouted ''YEAH!!! WOO!!!!'' which fucking killed me #like if you must include straight sex at least be funny about it #this post brought to you by me deciding ''fuck it'' and including a line about tarinne picking her boxers up off the floor after she #gets out of their bed in an inn scene

Anyway I've been obsessed with formatting TRP3 profiles the last few days and had to make a full guide.

Have you ever wanted to learn about the secret images TRP doesn't want you to know about? The alignment tags they hid from us? The secrets of having two images AND text in line with each other? A pre-cooked table of special symbols that will display without error on your tooltip?

Genius idea that just occurred to me: the Old Gods speak in really low infrasound. It's one reason they're so unsettling. It's not a sound you hear, but one you feel. You can feel the pressure in the air when they speak. It's the language of earthquakes and tsunamis. Their voices permeate through the very ground. And when they speak TO you, it's a violation of nature. They are FORCING you to understand them despite your body's normal inability to do so. You can feel their words vibrating your jawbone, you can feel the pressure in your ears, and it hurts, and you shouldn't be able to understand it, but you can. There's an invisible hand squeezing your lungs and you can't take a full breath no matter how hard you try, but it's not a hand, it's speech, and you can understand it. Oh gods why can you understand it.
