Max Chandler-Mather, Greens MP for Griffith, is using $27,000 out of his own salary/entitlements to pay for thousands of free school meals for children every week.
This is the kind of compassion I wish other MPs had. Labor says Greens winning seats would be terrible - but Labor isn't providing free meals for children like the Greens are. He's taken the job of helping the people he represents and serves seriously.
For those who don't know: Max was part of Young Labor at university because he admired Gough Whitlam's socialist policies like free education and healthcare - policies the Greens pursue to bring back, while Labor has abandoned them.
So, to call for real change he joined the Greens in 2016. You can too and support the party so it can grow, win more seats, and have more people in parliament who will use that opportunity to help those in need instead of corporate donors.
