Okay so um. Could I maybe request.... telling Caiatl about earth human ancient myths while she works? Maybe? Please? Pretty please?

Long nights are not unusual for Caiatl. Being an Empress, having to pick up after her father's mess, and everything else happening all at once makes the mind turn and sleep difficult.

She sits by a warm flame as she prepares for another long night of reports. To her, this is idle reading, and she can find herself mind grow numb at some points. Hearing about her difficulty to refocus, you decide to tell her about some human history, but more specifically, about any mythos you've come across in your time. This interests her for a moment to put down her task to take in something new.

You tell her of half remembered stories told to you when you were a child and fill in the gaps as best you can. You show her old documents on photos where she leans in a little closer to you to see them better before asking you to display it on one of the screens in her court. The Empress asks questions and at times will share her peoples myths and compare them to the stories you've told her. Her should seem to relax a little bit and her eyes sharp as ever. You can tell by the tone of her voice she is smiling, even if it's just a little.

This year is SO much better for Crow! He is actually happier this time around and he can actually enjoy the food given to him instead of eaten with guilt. Well, he doesn't eat them still since he learned what they're made of, but he still enjoys the gifts. He gives you a few dozen boxes and always sneaks one somewhere you never expect it to be.

You both wear matching sweaters every day. They're different ones for each of the days too. Neither of you say who made them or where you both got them from.

If your a Warlock he buys you some books he thought you would enjoy.

If you're a Hunter then he gets you some cool new knives.

If you're a Titan he helps mend any of your marks with great care. He isn't really sure what Titans would like outside of punching...? (Just kidding he knows they love to read too. He will get you a coloring book for toddlers just to poke fun at you.)

It doesn't care to understand this tradition, but it's an important one to you, so it complies and allows you to decorate your section of an empty Pyramid ship with all sorts of decorations and lights. The Witness will never admit to enjoying the beautiful lights and colors added into the dark and cold room. But you can tell it silently appreciates the decor the way its eyes shine a little brighter whenever it goes into that space.

You ask it if you should give it one present or a large amount of presents. It shrugs and lets you decide. You look at your wallet and say that it is only going to get a few this year since you can't afford millions. It tries not to laugh at your predicament and turns away from you as it smiles. Like hell it would let you see it smile. You catch a few of the faces on the soul stack smiling.

You make it a gift instead of buying it one. Well, the main gift anyway. You do ask if enjoys food and it says it doesn't need to eat anymore but it can if it wanted to. You buy it some cookies and a small cake. It takes the cake and leaves you the cookies.

You want to take it to The City but... You don't for obvious reasons. You take videos of it and pictures and show them to it later. It always looks disinterested but sometimes a picture catches its attention and will go back to look at it.

You truly did not know kw what you did to gain the Queen grace and favor, let alone her romantic attention, but she always found it cute how you would react to her. A half smile here, a little breath of a chuckle there. You knew for her that showing off any sort of emotion is a difficult process for her to do. You never overreact to it, but you still encourage her to open up more. You've seen her smile a handful of times, and everyone, you fall a little bit more in love with her.

The cultural differences were hard at first, you mainly learned of all the royal customs you now need to learn, especially in public eyes. Her Techeuns guide you through it with ease. Mostly. There have been a few faults on your part, but your eagerness to learn their customs made them excited.

Of course, this means they want to learn from you as well! Mara would often sit in on these little lessons and watch you with the faintest of smiles, but her eyes showed like stars. She loved learning, and there was something magical when you taught her things or even reminded her of them. You always argued that your knowledge wasn't all that special like hers. She would always hold your hands and give you a soft kiss with her abilities. Even though your lips never touched, the sensation was always there.

She would always quietly chuckle at the way faint atar stuff would stay behind on your lips and tease how it looked, but she loved it. And so did you.

She grows bored of the same cycle, week I'm and week out. There is a quiet moment of peace with her that she accepts this death loop, but it does make her writhe in agony at times. That is, until one week you show up.

You get close enough to draw her attention by scaling the side of thr tower she over looks and as she attacks you, she notices a trinket you leave behind. You drop it and leave before she can cause you any harm. She commands one of the knights to retrieve it for her and in their grasp it shatters.

You repeat this gift giving again for a time until one day she does not poision the air and instead watches you place the gift down and run. This time Dul reaches for it and notices the small glittering gem on it. It sparkles a vibrant green against the black and blue sky. She holds it close and fiddles with it when she can. When you return she floats a little lower and holds her knights back as she watches you set down something else.

This is a repetition in her weeks that she does not mind and now she looks forward to every third cycle just to see what else you bring her. Her knights are weary of your gifts, but she doesn't mind. She will die by the hands of other Guardians anyway, as is their plan.

You bring him updated files everyday so he can see what he is missing out on. He is distant about it at first but then there's a small break in his barrier and he asks how Ana and Elsie are doing during the holidays.

He surprises you with a frame he has been working on ever since he seen how Ana reformatted an old frame for Rasputin. He can now give you all the Dawning kisses you want (and more.) You put ugly sweaters on it and he scoffs at each new sweater you bring him. He wears them unwillingly.

You two go to the City so he can see Dawning first hand. He seems like a child at some points when he sees something exciting with the tech being used to create a few of the effects around the City.

Yes, he still explains how it isn't difficult to do, but you just shut him up with some bakes goods or kisses. That keeps him quiet for about a few seconds.

You shut down the synthweave lab for the night and take her out of the Tower. You even manage to convince her to dress a bit more in some formal wear than her usual attire.

The soft snow of the season makes her feel a bit nostalgic. A few well placed kisses on her face makes her warm up and smile under your affection. Expect lots of nuzzles from her.

She takes a break from weapon and cloth forging and helps you out in the kitchen. There's a bit of a mess of frosting, but a few well placed kisses cleans it right up.

You bake her some treats and she inspects them curiously and denies them at first. Not because they aren't good, but because she prefers something a bit more sweet. And warm. And snuggly. And something that has a little spice to it too. You give her a kiss and she purrs that that is perfect. But a little Eliksni grade chocolate doesn't hurt either. She prefers the marbled kind.

There are moments where she does seem distant and upset but you know it's because she thinks of her family. She has no idea of where her wife is or how their children are doing. She would love to introduce you to her, but of course she is also uncertain. Does Athrys still hold the same love as she used to for Eramis? Did she move on with another? You hold one of her hands and reassure her that you love her and you'll always be there with her.
