Do you have the same problem as your competitors' websites? What are the shops with similar products and what are their sales?
There are many tools for market analysis on Amazon, such as "seller wizard", "jungle scout", etc., but it is very difficult to know the sales of other similar shops when you are working on an independent website. For a long time there was no convenient spy tool on the market.
Before I knew about diffshop, this is how I projected independent site data:
1, use a third-party tool like similarweb or semrush to cite traffic data from competitors' websites. Then, based on the number of sku and product unit price, estimate a customer unit price, and then refer to the average conversion rate of shopify shops, such as 1% to calculate: traffic ✖️ customer unit price ✖️1% conversion rate Estimate a number. But a data is not allowed, the results differ greatly, if the conversion rate is not 1% but 2%, the sales are twice as bad.
2, go to a competitor's website to place an order, record the order number such as #0011, according to the default rules of shopify, it is from #0001 to start the number, that #0011 is the 11th single. This way, you know that the shop sold 59-11=48 pieces of goods in 2 days, which is about 24 pieces of goods a day on average, thus projecting a month's sales and sales. This method, however, is just too costly. Some shops also do not support refunds after delivery. Using this method to measure 1 website is okay, but to find the sales of 10-20 shops, this efficiency is really too low.
3, use a third-party software, commerce inspector, but I tried it for a month, and then abandoned it. The biggest problem is that the data is not accurate. I took my own shop as a test, and the data that commerce inspector found was several orders of magnitude worse. There are also many competing websites whose data cannot be captured.
So when researching competitors, and market research, it was always a headache to capture sales data. That's when I discovered diffshop - Shop Lake Data. I first tested it with a few of my own shop data and magically found the tool to be relatively accurate in its predictions. I can't say it's exactly the same, but the margin of error is basically 10%, which is acceptable.
