Here is the full compilation of all the works I managed to finish! For certain characters I went back and did some very minor touch-ups, just so they look a bit more consistent. That said, you can see how my style changed quite over time :3;;; Which is fine! I wanted to experiment with the soft texture brushes and try to come up with a style that would look crisp when zoomed out, but also look interesting close up. I hope I managed to achieve that, and that it looks good!!

crying and sobbing y'all when people said that you only add scenes that advance the plot they didn't JUST mean the overarching plot. they meant the plot of the book... entirely. like a conversation between two friends can advance the plot by characterizing them and grounding them with a meaningful relationship. if your book doesn't have "filler" it's missing emotional beats. which are plot. which are important. fun and whimsy aren't mutually exclusive from what "needs" to happen in your book. the advice isn't bad it's just taken too literally stop come back.

#Other #there are reasons ppl like the original Sailor Moon anime more than the remake and this is it #this is literally it. all that char development and interaction and connection #and that sort of thing CAN be filler if it's... completely useless like #if it doesn't EVEN improve on chars/relationships/etc and feels like a waste of time #yeah it can be shitty filler. not all filler is shitty filler though and sometimes you need it #good example too is Shaman King. the remake sucked booty and I stand by that as a #very very very longtime SK fan. like... I've been with it for around twenty years I'd say by now? #maybe not exactly but right around there? and the manga pacing was pretty chill #300 chapters + a shit bitch ass load of side stories/extras/etc? #but then the new anime was like. hey we can take our time and cut it into seasons or just blow through it #and evidently I guess the creator felt it might get canceled if it was split into seasons #(which is a fair argument bc most anime does get canceled nowadays #if it's not a huge smashing hit nowadays anime gets canceled at the drop of an absolute hat) #but bc of that mindset they chopped up the anime into 52 episodes #when the original anime in 2001 which had FILLER was like 64 episodes and BETTER #they crammed 300 chapters into 52 eps and had to remove a LOT of lingering/relationship building #the 2001 anime had to end bc the manga went on indefinite hiatus and they caught up #so they canned it with an anime only ending (which sucked and kinda went against the entire theme/message of the series but w/e) #but in the end I had more love for the old anime than the new one. if I was a NEW fan of SK for the remake #I can p much guarantee I would not love this series. prob have no interest in trying to manga only spinoffs/side stories #the new anime didn't have much unique charm to it and in fact actually disappointed me #bc I was hoping it would ADD new content for my faves who didn't even make it into the original anime #(bc the anime got canned before they showed up in the timeline and frankly they goofed on another one's attitude) #but it actually TOOK AWAY from building them and cut corners on them from the LITTLE they already had #just to get through plot. it was all hurry hurry plot plot plot. really can't even properly recommend the new anime #to this day I can still only recommend the manga and then the old anime after that and then MAYBE the new anime if you have time to kill #by which I mean the new anime is just a SUPER condensed and sped up version of the manga #so it's the same experience except worse and rushed bc they didn't take their time and care abt the chars enough
