His eyes quickly flashed to the sword in his hand. Bloodied from the intruders he succeeded in taking the lives of.
Maybe now was the time to give into that chaos Fuma had praised so much... Yes... He will have to get vengeance, for not only Lord Ieyasu and Lady Suguri.... but for all of the Tokugawa empire.
Letting thoughts of the Toyotomi’s broken, shredded body enter his mind, he managed to calm himself a little bit.
“You are a pathetic, laughable lord. You haven’t even fought for your people. Even I can say I’ve lifted my hand to try and protect what my father has earned.”
The grisly blade flew through the air like an eagle and just barely touched the rat’s unblemished flesh.
“The Tokugawa won’t go down that easy. I won’t allow it.”
Make one wrong move rat, and you will have ALL the same scars I have!

If only Hidetada could SPEAK, god why can’t he TALK?
His entire body is shaking, sword ready to swing at his side. He doesn’t even care that his father would scold him for taking the little monkey’s head himself.
“Wh… Why?”
A clear growl in his tone, this Ronin still couldn’t find the words. Nevermind the composure to speak to his lifetime rival.
Ah, it would seem that he’s intruding.
“Lord Hidetada…”
The most he can manage with his voice is a dry tone. Aligned with the enemy as Lady Suguri may have been, though this couldn’t have been anything more than inevitable, Hideyori knows. She did not deserve to die in such a manner.
“I have no words to express my grief…”
His grief. Hah. If this wasn’t such a sensitive topic, he might have laughed at the irony of his words. Who was he to grieve over the enemy’s wife in the first place, to even express such grievance in the presence of the child? The only grounds he has is the familial ties she shared with the Tachibana, and yet even still…

Not being able to find the words, the shogun begins to feel a sting in his eyes. Hiding his eyes from... something. Hidetada just can’t help himself to do anything other than sob.

“That’s exactly my problem with him, he doesn’t do anything so we can’t legally do anything against him. He’s even more annoying than the Sanada!”
He really wanted to say that he assaulted one of his father’s samurai, but to his understanding, Todo struck first. So he couldn’t. Lying about something like that would only land Hidetada in more trouble than he was in now.
With that logic, he wouldn’t be able to set a hit on the man either. Uhg.
“Yeah. That stupid westerner again. I think you’ve heard of him?”

“I wouldn’t know where she is. Even with my connection with their ninja, I wouldn’t think he trusts me enough with the lady’s current location.”
Hidetada thought about that last part for a moment. What if it was Fuma?
Then again, if it were, he doubted Kotaro would have settled for a strangling or have run away when caught (especially without a fight). The thoughtlessness was also quite out of character.
“I can tell you that it isn’t that ninja, either. He thinks entirely too much before setting out on his mayhem.”
This was beginning to drive him nuts.
