As a DJ, I usually hear songs before the general public, especially back then. I knew this was going to be a memorable lyric for eternity. This was one of those lines the crowd said out loud every time I played this song at house parties. IMO, LL is still the Greatest Rapper of All Time!

50 years ago today, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was assassinated in Memphis, Tennessee by the U.S. Government. The truth of the assassination has yet to come out. Just like the assassinations of Malcolm X & JFK, the official stories are lies. Even Coretta Scott King believed it to be the government as she publicly acknowledged. Most people don’t know that in 1998, a jury found the U.S. Government responsible for Dr. King’s assassination. It is of historical record, J. Edgar Hoover & his FBI's role in bringing down "the rise of a Black messiah" as he called it. They destroyed the Black Panthers and other "Civil Rights" groups using Cointelpro (counter intelligence program.) Many of the documents are public record now. In his last years, Dr. King’s speeches were sounding more and more like Malcolm’s. Remembering Malcolm. 53 years ago today, El-Hajj Malik El-Shabazz aka Malcolm X was assassinated in Harlem. The truth of the assassination has yet to come out. Just like the assassinations of JFK before him and Dr. King after, the official stories are lies. While Minister Farrakhan acknowledges that the Nation of Islam helped create the climate for it to happen, with no doubt it was the US government that killed Malcolm. Agents had infiltrated the NOI. Even Sister Betty Shabazz did not believe it was the NOI, she believed it to be the government as she publicly acknowledged when she stood on stage with Minister Farrakhan in the later years of her life. Malcolm even wrote that there were many things happening to him that could not have been the NOI. After years of studying Malcolm X, one of the biggest unanswered questions is why did he leave himself so vulnerable on that day? Why did he have to die? Given more time, I'm sure he & The Honorable Elijah Muhammad would have reconciled and he and Dr. King would have worked together. And perhaps that is the answer to the question of why. It amazes me how so many people claim to love Malcolm today. I think it is the image of Malcolm presented today that they love. What they love is Revisionist History, something I hate. They love the watered down Malcolm portrayed in the media and portrayed by Denzel in Spike Lee's Hollywood financed movie in which they chose to leave out many aspects of Malcolm's life for the sake of satisfying a larger audience at the box office. But the real Malcolm, even the one "presented" in Alex Haley's The Autobiography of Malcolm X, is a lot harder for many Black folks to love. R.I.P. Albert Johnson better known as Prodigy of the legendary Hip-Hop duo Mobb Deep. He died today at the young age of just 42. The lyrically gifted Queens native is one of my favorite emcees of all time. While him & Havoc put out many Hip-Hop classics as Mobb Deep, his solo album H.N.I.C. should also be considered a classic.
