I don’t know how psychological therianthropy is so hard to understand when it’s possibly the easiest one that makes sense to me. Neurodivergence + imprinting on animals instead of humans from infancy = aminal p easily

Absolutely wild to me that I know so many nonhumans on a server which isn't about nonhuman stuff at all and a lot of them literally aren't in "the community" or anything. Shit, most of them avoid "serious otherkin" and "serious therians" because they're just not interested in gatekeeping and discourse and all the inventing of terms, and don't relate at all to phantom limbs or dysphoria, so they've even questioned whether they count. Which is sad, man. We had a whole conversation about it and like, the entire moderation crew is plural and nonhuman and autistic and trans and furry, a bunch of the members hit all five too and almost everyone hits at least 2-3, like it's SO goddamn common for some reason in there. People I hadn't even thought were nonhuman chimed in and surprise, they are too. They just feel like they don't want to commit to terminology or a solid identity because the subculture is overwhelming and unrelatable.

This is ultimately why I'm so big on the separation of otherkin-the-subculture from nonhuman-the-identity. There are SO MANY nonhumans out there who just do not want to be otherkin but have no idea that they can simply not be otherkin. It's not helpful or good to have a single subculture become synonymous with a huge range of identity. Inb4 "that's what alterhuman was for" because you basically still have to have dabbled in the kin subculture to hear about it, and adding more overlapping circles to a Venn diagram that people don't wanna touch in the first place isn't doing them any service.

I think there really just needs to be multiple nonhuman subcultures doing their own things with no attempt to unify them. I think it's bad actually to try and shove too many disparate things into one big pool. Like, they don't have to not communicate and they can share members, but overall a single monolith subculture just cannot be everything to everyone and that's normal even.

The line I used to make my Therianthropy necklace broke some time ago. I recently decided to remake it using some old beads I've had sitting in my craft junk for over a decade. And Uh...

The square beads spell out "Fuck you motherfuckers I am a horse. Neigh" Which is directed towards all the assholes who are hateful to therians because we're "cringe" or whatever. My friend tied it with a knot that can be tightened or loosened so I can choose whether or not I want to wear it as a choker. I doubt anyone will really be able to read it while I'm wearing it but I know what it says.

you can literally just go wherever bro. i moved 11 hours from my hometown to the mountains to feel more at home. i lived in the great plains and now i can just go out for a hike in the rockies and howl at the sky.

being an adult therian slaps so fucking hard i cant wait for the youth to grow up and experience the joy of freedom. yes being an adult is incredibly stressful but if youve been stifled living with family, you get a real chance to develop who you truly are. adult therians i love you im rubbing against your neck and mixing our scents. mwah.

PSA to any nonhumans/otherkin/voidpunks who want a fang piercing to affirm themselves!!!

Do NOT do this:

This is a “smiley” piercing (a horseshoe bar through the frenulum); fang bars are NOT proper jewelry to wear in them! Their size and shape can increase the risk of gum recession and tooth chipping (and are at a higher risk of being torn out by mistake!), plus they’re difficult to live with when it comes to eating, drinking, and sleeping.

Do this instead:

These are vertical angel bites (AKA “angel fangs”), using a standard curved barbell with a spike on the bottom. They don’t extend into the oral cavity at all, which means your teeth won’t be damaged and there’s a lesser risk of injury. This piercing is also easier to live with so you can keep your fangs full-time (as long as the spikes you use aren’t TOO long, I’d recommend 3 to 4 mm).

Pls remember to affirm yourselves safely (especially with body modification), and only wear jewelry that’s meant to safely go in your piercing! 💕

This is something that has worried me in the past so prehaps it may help someone else to hear too: You cannot accidentally be KFF. It's literally not possible. Kin-for-fun is a specific online subculture with their own terminology, behaviors, and expectations united by the fact they're ""kinning"" stuff because they just want to fuck around online and make jokes, and don't mean thier connection to or with their "kins" in any genuinely introspective way. If you are genuinely interested in the topic AT ALL you're not KFF even if you can't produce masterpiece essays about yourself. Even if you can't easily slot yourself into a label. Even if figuring yourself out takes a while. There's no time limit.

Therian ID card!

I searched the internet for furry ID cards (which there are plenty of) but I couldn't find any alterhuman, specificaly therian ones. So I decided to make my own! Here's what I came up with:

I really like how it turned out! Now, I need to get my printer working ^^' I'll post updated on how it will come out physically!

If you want one for yourself, I made blank ones too! Feel free to make as many as you want and edit it as you wish (you can change "hatchday" for "birthday" for example)
