Afrika Bambaataa & The Soulsonic Force - Planet Rock (Boys Noize Remix)
Record store day is April 16th, and they’ve got a ton of bomb ass releases set up for your ears to consume. Alongside releases from Disney, Rob Zombie, the Flaming Lips, and David Bowie, Afrika Bambaataa’s classic track “Planet Rock” is being re-released with a F I R E remix from Boys Noize. It’s not enough changes to wreck the original, but just enough subtle touches for the Berlin badass to make it his own. - MatTheUU

JAVASCRIPT - He ZaHoe (DJ Sega Remix) KnightWerk records artist JAVASCRIPT just dropped their Body Armor EP, and it features a positively banging remix by DJ Sega of the track He ZaHoe. DJ Sega is probably one of the most underrated producers around. Maybe his name makes people think he’s a gimmick? Maybe his sound is too future for some people? Or maybe some people just have shit taste. Who knows. Listen to this banging ass track above. - MatTheUU

Baauer - Kung Fu (feat. Pusha T & Future) YES - FINALLY!!! The criminally underrated Baauer is finally releasing his debut album, Aa, out on Mad Decent March 18th. Excited as I am though, this single isn’t incredibly impressive. It bangs, sure, but it feels too much like a Future/Pusha T joint that Baauer produced, rather than a Baauer joint that Pusha T/Future rapped on. Luckily, the track listing reveals that more instrumentals are on the way, and I will be eagerly waiting until then to hear some more dope shit that flips the world of trap on it’s ass.

The Pitchfork 2016 Line-up is here! And it's fucking surreal!
Carly Rae Jepsen is a super left-field pic, Brian Wilson doing Pet Sounds is a nice surprise, glad to see JLin and RP Boo showing up for footwork on Sunday. Also, big ups to Car Seat Headrest! YA DID IT. Overall it's solid but there's something lacking about it overall, a stronger headlining presence maybe? Or just more acts in general?

FKA Twigs - Good To Love The astonishing Miss FKA Twigs has returned with a new single that truly put her vocal range on full display. The track is pretty accessible for the most part, simply relying on her gorgeous voice and minimal musical accompaniment, but by the end, the clicks and clacks randomly placed on the track accumulate into a spiral leading toward a beautiful climax.

THE LIFE OF PABLO: A TRACK-BY-TRACK REVIEW OF KANYE WEST’S BEAUTIFUL MESS
[Was going to release this sooner, but I thought Mr. West might of been moving a little faster with his remaster. At least his tweets are still bumping]
01 Ultralight Beam [ft. Chance the Rapper and Kirk Franklin]
Pretty gorgeous, Chance realy shines here, and this sounds like an automatic classic for Kanye. It's exactly like he promised, a true hip-hop gospel track.
02 Father Stretch My Hands Pt. 1 [ft. Kid Cudi]
"IF YOUNG METRO DON'T TRUST YA I'M GON SHOOT YA" Ugh, that shouldn't be there, but the beat itself is awesome, and BLEACHED ASS HOLE.
03 Father Stretch My Hands Pt. 2 [ft. Desiigner]
I've had to tell way too many people that it's Desiigner on the track (sampled from his own song, no less) and not Future. Also, I have a strong love/hate relationship with the the collage-ish sample jumps at the end. It's like your flipping through the radio station of Kanye's mind. Or listening to an unfinished track, one or the other.
04 Famous [ft. Rihanna]
An automatic banger, the Nina Simone/Bam Bam/Swizz Beats combo works ridiculosuly well. LITERAL. GOOSEBUMPS.
05 Feedback
Rhymes are pretty solid, but thw beaat overshadows Kanye. Not that this is a bad thing per say because the track is D O P E but still.
06 Low Lights
Oh cool DJ Dosger Stadium are on here.
07 Highlights [ft. Young Thug]
Wow, Kanye to did a cover of Lifestyle!
08 Freestyle 4 [ft. Desiigner]
I like how he sounds like a melting goblin and the off kilter beat at the end, but that's about it.
09 I Love Kanye
Honestly one of the best tracks, really cute song, funny, kinda meta, let's us know Kanye's kind of aware about what's going on.
10 Waves [ft. Chris Brown]
I should be bothered by Chris Brown's feature but the songs is pretty dope, just glad a Breezy song wasn't the title track.
11 FML [ft. The Weeknd]
It's a nice track, good use of Abel.
12 Real Friends [ft. Ty Dolla $ign]
Ty Dolla $ign sounds great, the beat will be stuck in my head until I’m a skeleton, and the underlying theme of family struggles come though fully on this.
13 Wolves [ft. Frank Ocean and Caroline Shaw]
IT COULD HAVE BEEN THE BEST - That melody is amazing, and Sia & Vic Mensa WERE amazing... too bad he replaced them with a half assed verse and a low quality Frank Ocean feature (hey, the more Frank the better, but, you know).
14 Silver Surfer Intermission [ft. Max B]
Yeah! That'll show Wiz!
15 30 Hours [ft. André 3000]
This track got me when it was originally released but in the context of the album not so much. Cell phone ring at the end still catches me off guard though.
16 No More Parties in LA [ft. Kendrick Lamar] The fact that a 6 minute Madlib x Kanye x Kendrick collab exists and manages to kick this much ass is a blessing.
17 Facts (Charlie Heat Version)
I like this version better, but this song is going to date itself immediately. Hell, Jumpman already feels a little dated.
18 Fade [ft. Post Malone and Ty Dolla $ign]
Why is this the last track? Feels an after thought. A very FUN after thought, but still an after thought. Overall, The Life of Pablo is an amazing mess of an album, a spectacular collage of different emotions and sounds, but the incomplete feeling of the album sometimes goes from “artsy” to “lazy.” Overall, 7 Kanye’s out of 10. - MatTheUU

Kanye West - 30 Hours After a positively B O N K E R S Madison Square Garden showcase, the continually unfolding saga of The Life of Pablo shows that it may be more entertaining than the album itself (not to say I didn’t like it, but the music is definitely being overshadowed by the media circus surrounding it). From the Tay Tay lyrics, to the video game possibly featuring Donda West as Flappy Bird, to that magnificent/vomitrocious cover, this is, truly, one hell of a clusterfuck. But Kanye is never one to disappoint, and as such, he has released the once thought to be gone track 30 Hours. When this track comes on, you forget about everything to do with its context, you just hone on the pure emotion Kanye exerts on this powerful track. Listen to it here. - MatTheUU

Death Grips - Hot Head Death Grips dropped their first single from Bottomless Pit (or maybe it’s a non-album single, it’s hard to tell with these guys sometimes). Now that the track has been out for a few days and the dust has settled a bit, I can honestly say HOLY SHIT. Combining all of the elements that made their past albums so unique (the darkness of No Love Deep Web, the manic synth play of Government Plates, the insane progression of The Money Store, etc.), “ Hot Head” is a bullet to the head in the best way possible. The only words on my mind now are: BOTTOMLESS PIT WHEN???? - MatTheUU

(⊙ヮ⊙) N E VV S (⊙ヮ⊙)
Okay, so a few days I felt like I had a mild cold, and ended up having some insane fever dreams about LEGO cities overflowing with full grown babies and giant pools of testosterone for about 35 hours. Needless to say, I wasn’t super capable of posting something coherent, which kinda sucks because I try to keep posts flowing daily, but it’s alright, because now I’m gonna be stretching out my already multi-billion dollar Dreams on Cassette (it’s true, check Forbes) to the brand new invention of video! Amazing, right? Such a new technology, and we’re already breaking boundaries. I’ll keep ya’ll posted on that, plus some podcasts, and, as always, still doing a radio show with my brotendo Nathan Anthony every Tuesday at 2 on fauowlradio.com. Send us anything you want us to play on the radio, just make sure it’s clean because we’re still run by THE MAN (the stuff you send to the blog can be filthy as FUCK).

Damn, two rad songs about my kick ass home state in such a short time span? Huh. Anyway, if you haven’t heard this yet, pause your bootleg Lizzie McGuire episode and put away your white cheddar cheese doodles - this song is urgent. - MatTheUU
