tyler turned around when he felt the tap on his shoulder, dark eyes meeting hers for a few moments. he was pretty good at getting hints, so it didn't take long from him to put two and two together. a small grin appeared on his face. "long time no see, let me get you a drink." he said, putting an arm around her to escort her away from the clearly boring conversation. he was pretty good at helping people get out of situations, so he was more than happy to help her. "aaaaand, gone?" he tilted his head toward her as they made their way across the room.

veronica was bored of this party and the people she was talking to. everyone felt like a snooze fest; but she new it was important that she get out there and network if she was going to build a business empire. however this conversation was becoming a snooze fest and strange to boot and she looked around, trying to find an exit. it was then that she found someone standing around seemingly alone. perfect. "excuse me," she said to the people she was speaking to before she jetted over to the other. "hey friend!" she said a bit loudly as she walked over to the other, a winning smile on her lips. "i've been looking for you all night." she said it loud enough for the others to hear and was internally hoping this person got the hint.

"sounds like a plan." eric said in agreement, turning to the bar to order one for himself. "the variety of drinks is pretty good, i will admit. i'm just used to wines or meads. sometimes the occasional beer." he mused, reminising of the old times for a few moments.

a little chuckle escaped the male's lips at the question. "i was trying to fix something on my ship, so i took it off in case it got damaged and that clearly backfired." he said, looking a bit embarrassed. "do you think it's fixable?" the sailor asked, a tilt of his head soon followed.

"wonder what freaky witch shit has happened now." the hybrid said with a short sigh and shake of his head. even tyler's memory wasn't up to speed either. last he remembered he was away from klaus, hayley, caroline - mystical falls in general. the next, he's here.

"I'd fill you in, but I just got here myself," Hayley sighed, her own beer in hand as she smiled a bit over at Tyler. Regardless of the weirdness that occurred in DC, it was nice to have a friend around. "Klaus has no memory of who he actually is, what he's done and that's definitely not a good thing." Not for anyone. "That's all I got, Ty."

"this is why you're the perfect person for this." he grinnned, looking toward him. eric pushed his hands back into his pockets to savour any kid of warmth he gave them. "i felt that, i'm delaying the last of my lesson prep before work starts again. then again, work never really ends for me. always busy." he trailed off. "but oof, rough. what's your thesis gonna be on?" he asked, head tilted to the side in curiosity.

"I'm not in the habit of saying things I don't mean. I've spent enough years on ships to know a thing or two about their construction." Of course, James had never been a carpenter, but he had picked up a few things over the years — it was impossible not to. Besides, what sort of captain would he have been if he didn't know the basics of a ship's construction? "It'll give me something to distract myself from the impending doom of my thesis deadline."

eric had a thing for history and for artifacts. he always found them interesting and he liked known of far off places so when he found the pocket watch, he knew he wanted to know more about it. even if it didn't have much of a story, he still wanted to know. he pushed the door open and saw the sight of the familar blonde and he grinned to himself. "oh it's fine, i'm the same." eric chuckled. "thanks for looking at this for me by the way. the design on the front is really interesting, even if i don't recognise it." he explained.

" a duck?" he asked, brow raised. to someone else, that might've sounded a bit strange but eric kind of got it. all the vivid dreams of being from elsewhere, and a talking bird and crab? it didn't seem strange to him at all. "i don't get it why so many people from other worlds are here. i... i mean it's fascinating, but hurts my head to think about."

Louie smirks. “I can go ahead and assure you there are other worlds out there. Not just DC. Take me for example, I’m a duck back home. A talking duck. Apparently ducks don’t talk here.” They shrug. “Anyways, I’ve met a lot of people from other worlds. It’s odd.”
