THE GODFATHER — TSU’TEY HEADCANONS

#SYNOPSIS: tsu'tey being being a godfather/uncle to the sully kids

#AUTHORS NOTE: this is my first post so be easy 💀

NETEYAM

without a doubt tsu’tey and neteyam had the most in common. they were both noble older brothers and strong hunter/warriors who took themselves way too seriously. a man of few words, tsu’tey wasn’t nearly as vocal as jake in regards to neteyam’s responsibilities. don’t be fooled though, his expectations were just as high. he considered his godson to be his successor as olo’eyktan one day and wanted to be sure that he could handle the pressure that comes with the title.

began calling neteyam "mighty warrior" when he got his first knife at 6 years old, teasing at first, but growing to mean it over the years. neteyam was without a doubt his favorite sully to hunt with, and he took pride in knowing that he helped perfect his shooting form (not that it needed much correcting, the boy was valid).

he gives the most insane dating advice like it’s normal.

“if you like this person, simply kill a sturmbeest and give it to them as an offering so they know that you're a good hunter. the bigger the better, then they’ll be more likely to mate with you.” “mate? i’m only 15–”

LO’AK

this boy is his father’s son through and through. since the day lo’ak uttered his first word, he and tsu’tey had been butting heads. i’m talking full blown arguments between a grown man and a child. tsu’tey didn’t care – he never ran from a fight, and he’d be damned if he started now.

he would always tell jake that he, "didn’t care for the little one” as a bit, but when lo'ak failed his iknimaya, you can bet that tsu’tey immediately began preparing him for the next one. he’d poke fun at him from the sidelines the same way he did when it was jake’s turn all those years ago. he’d point out every mistake lo’ak made, all to avoid saying that he was actually super proud to see him get an ikran this time around.

catches lo’ak and spider in places they shouldn’t be several times a week. he always wrangles them up and returns them to the village, swearing to rat them out to jake and neytiri. he’s usually bluffing though, save for the few times they’d actually had the potential to get hurt. sometimes he’d turn them in just to keep them on their toes which usually kept their antics at bay for a while. at the end of the day, they were just kids doing kid shit, and tsu’tey could only be so concerned about that.

KIRI

he wasn't rocking with her at all for for the first few years of her life. he still wasn't comfortable around "dreamwalkers", even after the war, so kiri’s miraculous conception from a dormant avatar did very little to ease his suspicions.

“look, i understand if you don’t want to be her godfather, but she’s not going anywhere. we’re all she’s got.” jake said.

though his suspicions began to fade over the years, they never left him entirely. having agreed to be her godfather as well, he tried to support her interests when could. they changed constantly, to whatever facet of nature she was obsessed with at the moment. this week it was mushrooms.

“i don’t know what kind they are so don’t ask.”tsu’tey would hand kiri a leather pouch full of random mushroom caps he’d collected during his last hunt.

she would always inspect the plants he brought and he’d take note of which ones she kept and which ones she didn’t, so he’d know the right ones to get next time. he would still accidentally bring the poisonous ones home sometimes.

he was the personification of "he's a little confused but he got the right spirit"

TUK’TIREY

tsu’tey would die for all of his godchildren in a heartbeat, but he would kill for tuk. she was his little partner in crime, often tagging along while he did his patrol of the forest or made new weapons. people rarely showed interest in the chores of the chief, but she’d found them cool enough, and that meant a lot to him.

one time, tuk was sulking around camp for days, until tsu’tey asked what was wrong. she’d asked jake to teach her how to shoot a bow, and he told her no, that she was still too young.

“nonsense. i learned to shoot an arrow before I could walk. i will teach you.”

tsu’tey was careful that he didn’t scold or poke fun at her when she released her shot too early or complained that her arms were sore. he didn’t want to discourage her. still, he wasn’t the type to offer flowery words of encouragement. he would simply correct her form and re-direct her towards her target.

“do it again.” “but godfather-” “again. and don’t slouch your shoulders like that.”

he’d give any gemstones and shells he found to tuk to polish and make into beads or armbands. in the beginning, he could admit that they weren’t as perfect as he liked, often uneven in shape and size, but he sported them anyway. after scoring his biggest kill wearing her beads, it became tradition to make him a new strand before every hunt. he kept every strand they ever made.

kiri and tuk paint eachothers nails. tuks nails always come out looking pretty good. kiri ends up rocking up to school the next day like this:

neteyam once let tuk do his makeup on him using neytiris stuff. the makeup ended up being like 10 years old and expired and neteyam had an allergic reaction. he never touched makeup after that.

lo'ak once got fired from his job for saying yo mama to a rude customer (this is canon btw)

ao'nung is on the swim team (no duh)

tsireya does kapahaka, front row and centre baby.

rotxo is a theatre kid. i'm always right.

lo'ak rarely ever sings, but sometimes when he's babysitting tuk and she starts begging him to sing her to sleep, he'll relent and sing very lowly. he's actually got a pretty soothing voice aswell.

also, tsireya likes to come over and help lo'ak with babysitting. when neytiri and jake hear about that they both visibly relax.

kiri is obsessed with plants (no really?!?!). her room is basically a jungle with how many there are, but yet all of them are extremely healthy and well taken care of.

lo'aks room is so messy. it's also very stuffy since mans has never opened a single window in there and there are always dirty clothes sprawled out on the floor. dirty clothes in which he proceeds to pick up, sniff, then shrugs and wears it out for the day. one time neytiri cleaned out his room for him while he was at school and found his vape. lo'ak got the ass whooping of his life that day.

neteyam is really into 70s-80s music, especially rock.

kiri is really into mitski and lana del rey (i think everyone can agree). she's also obsessed with twice (cry for me is on repeat!!)

on that note, she's also in love with stayc. i see her being yoon biased.

ao'nung and rotxo sign to eachother whenever they feel like talking shit but can't verbally voice it when they're in public. tsireya watches in horror from across the room.

lo'ak used to be into girls older than him growing up. said older girls would always be into neteyam which greatly wounded his pride and he very silently resented neteyam for it.

neteyam is always helping his mother out with chores around the house. he always does the dishes after dinner (jake does not let them use the dishwasher bc it uses too much power apparently) and his room is actually fairly tidy. save for his closet in which he stuffs everything dirty into whenever it gets messy.

tsireya and kiri are best friends. lo'ak is always asking kiri advice on how to woo tsireya and kiri always tells him to piss off.

lo'ak uses lynx.

tuk was the type of kid to be obsessed with slime and neytiri hated it. she would watch those slime no glue no borax videos and would then proceed to use neytiris very expensive shampoos and hair products and mix them before leaving them in the freezer. she promptly forgot about the mixture and when neytiri found it she was livid.

kiri often asks neytiri and jake what type of person grace was. she has a photo of her mother smiling on her bedside stand.

GOING TO DISNEY WITH AVATAR

Headcannons

*This is what I think they would be like, don't get cranky if you don't agree*

Seating arrangement!

You, Tsireya and Kiri were talking about the mickey ears you would buy, while the boys fought about who would be the most scared ( it was really just Ao'nung and Lo'ak at eachothers throat with the other two holding them back). Tuk is just blasting cookie swirl c in her unicorn headphones.

Jake and Tonowari are also arguing about how Jake missed a turn, and Neytiri and Ronal are actually getting along and gossiping.

Then, Tsireya wips out UNO from nowhere and everyone is alert. Even Tuk who has shockingly turned off her iPad ( she's deffo an iPad kid). Now everyone is glaring at eachother with anger, apart from Rotxo. Ao'nung has to pick up 4 cards, Lo'ak blocks Tuk so she chucks her headphones at him, Neteyam and Kiri sit in silence concentrating, Rotxo is just saying well done at everything (You almost chuck Tuks headphones at him because of it) and you and Tsireya are teaming up against everyone.

Surprisingly enough, Rotxo wins and that causes everyone to start arguing. Eventually the mums come in and break it up, Neytiri stealing Tuk from you, so now you can actually swear and proper fight. But that's quickly dissolved when the caravan stops and you all turn your heads out the window to see a gas stop. And where there's a gas stop there is sweets. Trampling over eachother, everyone runs into the small shop and strips the shelves ( the parents are Dumbfounded with Neteyam forcing everyone to only pick up two things and saying 'we can share').

After your snack break, Ronal announces that you still have about 6 hours left. So everyone except Neteyam and Tsireya use this time as a nap break. Kiri decides to move over to the chair that Tuk was in You rest your head on her shoulder, which soon enough falls down to her lap but she doesn't mind. So she softly strokes your hair while you sleep. 30 minutes later, you wake up to see everyone but Tsireya asleep so you make a devious (😈😈) plan. Grabbing a two pens, you give one to Tsireya and starting on different ends you decorate everybody's face with artistic pieces ( the mums see you doing this but don't care). Ao'nung wakes up first, and startles everyone else awake with his annoying laughter. But he quickly shuts up when Lo'ak tells him to look at himself, stealing Kiris mirror and sliding it down the table to him.

Then you all decide to go into the back bedroom to watch a movie. Neteyam sits on the floor, as do rotxo and Ao'nung (who isn't very happy about that and told everyone on the bed to fuck themselves). Everyone agrees to watch Frozen, although lo'ak and Ao'nung don't look too pleased. Now everyone is screaming at the tv singing 'Let it go'.

Then you guys stop at a hotel bc its gotten too late. So Neteyam,Ao'nung,Rotxo andlo'ak share a room, you, Kiri, Tsireya Tuk share, and the married couples all share a room with their partner.

You and the girls decide to have a girls night, with facemasks and gossiping and everything. So that's what you do. Tuk tells you all the tea from her primary, while you guys tell her all the gossip and shit going on at your school. Then soon enough a knock comes, Tsireya opens it and Rotxo asks if he can come in ( the boys are constantly arguing) so you all look at eachother and nod, because he's just the sweetest ever. Then Neteyam wants to come in, then Lo'ak and finally, Ao'nung. Luckily, you brought extra face masks so you do all the boys.

Afterwards, Ao'nung says something stupid, so you throw a pillow at him, he throws it back, so you grab it and aggressively attack him. And thus starts, the pillow fight. Boys vs Girls. Even though Tuk is dead asleep on a bed, you manage to win a three against 4.

As for sleeping arrangements, you and Tsireya are all cuddled up, Kiri and Tuk sleeping on a different bed, and all the boys on the floor with pillows and blankets. You were woken up 5 times bc Ao'nung wouldn't stop kicking lo'ak in the face.

Before you know it, you've tidied up the room and are back on your way, only 4 hours left now. And you decide that is the perfect amount of time to take insta photos. So you spend the next 30 minutes getting a good lighting and angle, and force everyone to get in.

You stop at McDonald's 2 hours before, and Jake is rushing everyone in and out saying 'we're on a schedule here, Jesus people' and Lo'ak makes things worse by ordering the wrong meal and Neteyam says he somehow takes full responsibility. Now Jake's shoved everyone into the car all moody after sorting it out, so you guys have to literally look everywhere but eachother because if anyone makes eye contact you will all set all laughing.

And finally you've made it into disney, getting out of the caravan everyone is overjoyed and you just rush over to the entrance, Tuk has out down cookie swirlc yet again to join you (Jumping on your back, forcing you to carry her).

What if Spider got caught by the RDA together with one of the Sully siblings? (Headcannons)

General headcannons:

Although the three oldest Sully kids posess ikrans, they cannot fly with them as they wish since the recom squad had special chips attached to one of their wings that will explode on command if the kids try to bolt. They’re completely trapped even when in the air.

Spider and the sibling end up cuddling for warmth and emotional support every night. He used to be excluded from the cuddle piles back at high camp but now that he is the only comfort his siblings have, he tries his best to provide it.

The caught one of the three oldest Sullys is forced to wear recom squad’s donated clothing when traveling back to Bridgehead for regular reports. The clothes are way too big for them as they’re meant to be worn by bulky avatars but they make it work.

The caught one of the three oldest Sullys is forced to endure the brain scanner with Spider when they’re first brought to base, but as their will is not as iron as Spider’s they end up spilling clues. None of them actually picture high camp but they give recoms hints as to where they could search for traces of the Omatekaya.

Whoever Spider ends up caught with, he will develop a strong, perhaps a life-long bond. A captivity that lasts for months is quite a traumatising event and having a sibling to be there with you through it will make their relationship ten times stronger.

Tuktirey headcannons:

The recoms are holding themsevles back big time for her. They try to tone down the cursing, handle her gently and try to stay on her good side. Overall, being captured with Tuk is more than bearable. She is mischievous but in a fun way.

Spider goes full big brother mode and Tuk is sucking up the attention like a sponge. Lo’ak is currently in that stage of puberty where he finds kids extremely annoying and Neteyam is never around since he’s busy with being handed adult responsibilities so the girl doesn’t get to experience much attention from her siblings, which changes with Spider.

Spider is rarely more than a foot away from her, always there to calm her when the big soldiers with their guns and ammunition get too overbearing. They end up holding hands almost all the time as the motion reassures her, so she turns quite clingy during their captivity.

Spider is like Teyam, but more fun, Tuk thinks as Spider runs around the forest with her on his back and despite being nearly the same height as him she’s quite light. He entertains her, plays pranks with her on the recoms and responds to all her silly, childish questions. The avatar squad silently thanks him for it.

When Tuk grows comfortable with the recom squad, she begins making cute jewellery for them. Soon, the mercs end up covered in flowers, pins, armbands and necklaces which Miles allows as it goes hand in hand with their plans of going "Na’vi". (it doesn’t he just likes taking a piss at his subjects walking around in colourful jewellery)

First night of their captivity, Tuk couldn’t fall asleep as usually, at this hour, she’d be listening to her mother sing lullabies and receive a forehead kiss from Neteyam. When she tells that to Spider he takes it upon himself to sing the little sister lullabies or tell stories every night. Her favorite part is when he takes a breath, lifts his mask and gives her a kiss on the temple. She falls asleep almost instantly afterwards, curling into the blonde’s chest.

The colonel will never admit it aloud, but the sight of Spider doing that is extremely adorable. He picks up a habit to wait until his son falls asleep and does the same to him so as he doesn’t forget that despite the role he was forced to take, he is still a kid.

Lo’ak headcannons:

The recoms squad had no idea what kind of hell they were in for when they caught the two. Separately, the boys are manageable, but together they turn into actual demons. Harsh pranks, jokes repeated to the point they’re no longer funny and other stupid, borderline punishable behaviour becomes a daily routine and the mercs are forced to adopt a no nonsense attitude to keep the gremlins in line.

Lo’ak is treated as Spider but with less rights. He is a hostage just like the blonde of course, but doesn’t have the privilege of being a human or the son of the colonel so the soldiers feel little need to play nice with him. If he fucks up, they will tell on him immediately and Quaritch is less inclined to hold back with his punishments, often grounding Lo’ak from climbing or flying and on occasion, if he really messes up (like patching up an escape plan) — eating.

Lo’ak is also often used as leverage when Spider becomes too rowdy. If he cursed out the colonel too many times, tried to get away or physically fought back with the squad, all Miles needs to do is throw one dark, sadistic look towards the younger Na’vi and Spider will find himself backtracking almost immediately, aware that Lo’ak isn’t as valuable to the group as the blonde himself.

For that reason Spider develops a bit of a protectiveness towards his friend. Sure the blue boy is taller and stronger, but he’s also viewed as less than him and the two of them are travelling with a pack of bloodthirsty avatars who are out to get their family, so when they or more specifically Quaritch gets agitated or agressive or hostile towards the kid, he’ll find Spider standing between them, shielding Lo’ak from his father’s fury and diffusing the situation.

Lo’ak feels guilty that he puts so much pressure in Spider to protect him, so he’d try to guard his sleep. He’ll hold his brother close and eye the recoms with a death glare, but always ends up going out like a light.

Miles makes it a habit it to cover up the kid with his jacket. He is, again, tall but also quite thin and was caught shivering on more than one occasion. The colonel keeps telling himself that he only does that so the blue brat doesn’t catch a cold and slow them down.

Kiri headcannons:

Most of the recoms had their big sibling/parent instincts activated when she got caught together with Spider for reasons they don’t understand, so overall she is treated just as well as her human brother. They don’t talk to her much, but she is well-behaved and it’s all that matters.

Kiri and Spider have that rare, one in a million sibling relationship that expresses itself in constant verbal/physical affection and support. The two of them get along so well the recoms assumed they were dating at first, but it turns out the reason to their bond is ✨trauma of orphanhood✨

Quaritch doesn’t know if he wants to laugh or cry at the cruel irony he sees in front of himself. Never in a thousand years would he had imagined the daughter of a woman he despised being the closest person Spider has. Their bond is sickeningly sweet and genuine.

The squad finds themselves getting attacked by local fauna almost every day, often several times but the animals are suspiciously avoidant of Kiri and Spider.

She tries to teach spirituality to the recoms, hoping that if she gets them to connect to Eywa they’ll enlighten and drop their mission. Her lectures are almost as annoying as Grace’s, but nothing could top her preachy, almost derogatory tone of voice so they bear with it.

Surprisingly, out of all the siblings in this situation, Kiri is having the best time in captivity thanks to being held with Spider. He is her absolute favorite brother and she always wore that fact proudly on her sleeve but back at high camp the human would often disappear with Lo’ak so on many days, they didn’t get to spend much time together.

“But now I have you all to myself!” She chirped, hugging Spider by the neck in an over the top, crushing embrace as Spider dramatically pretended to choke. In difference to Lo’ak, her dynamic with Spider while filled with teasing and jokes, is much more gentle and they often find themselves sarcastically (but not really) complementing each-other. The recoms think they’re about to get diabetes but secretly love looking at it. It boosts their morale.

Quaritch actually picks up on some things Kiri tries to teach. He plays it cool but the girl can see the way his ear leans towards her when she speaks, unable to hold back a smirk at the cute display. Her mother couldn’t get through to him, but perhaps she’ll succeed?

Neteyam headcannons:

The recoms are wary of the oldest Sully. While he is still quite playful and chidlish, there is a heavy air of menace around him. He is scheming an escape plan, they know he does, it’s in his every lingering glance, every fake smile and every motion. He is very well behaved but observes the squad like some guinea pigs in a cage and in return, they keep a constant watch on him, always alerted.

It doesn’t help that Neteyam looks like his mother as well, especially to the colonel. Spider vouched for him, said the kid had never murdered anyone before, but his unrelenting stare is the one of a killer and Quaritch refuses to let the boy out of his vision. He always watches him, even with the peripherals.

Out of all the siblings, Spider and Teyam have the worst relationship. It was fine when they were little but as the oldest Sully got burdened with the responsibility of being an heir, their friendship slowly faded into the oblivion and on most days they barely saw each-other. It’s awkward, so awkward in fact that even the squad of highly-trained mercs feel uncomfortable looking at the two teens as they silently try to rebuild that long-lost bond through physical gestures.

The two boys don’t know what to do. They desperately want to be protective of one another, but how do they go about it? Neteyam is the oldest of the Sullys and has experience of taking care of his siblings but Spider on the other hand had always possessed caretaker instincts and, as the older of the two, is morally inclined to ease Neteyam’s mental burden of being trapped with the people who are out to kill his family.

It starts out slow: Neteyam begins putting his hand on Spider’s back or holding his hand when he gets tired and starts lagging behind, and Spider stands between him and the soldiers when they get too agitated by his unnaturally silent, observatory behaviour. They barely talk to one another, but spend a lot of time next to each another and awkwardness slowly changes to comfortable silence as the two reconnect.

At night, Neteyam cradles his smaller sibling when he is deep asleep while guarding him, and in difference from Lo’ak, he doesn’t fall asleep unless he decides to. At all. Quaritch nearly catches a heart attack when he wakes up one night and sees Teyam’s glowing eyes piercing his soul like an animal ready to pounce.

Miles tried to cut the boy some slack, but he looks way too much like Neytiri, and the man can often barely look at him. He knows Neteyam can feel his fear and it’s perhaps the most annoying part about being forced to traverse the wilderness of Pandora next to him.
