week 15 Questions of the week
What’s abstraction good for? Describe some of the reasons why artists might employ abstraction in their work.
I think abstraction is very good to provide space for conversation as not all is direct, it allows viewers to also engage and build on the art. Artists may use abstraction, also to protect the message from outsiders and to freely pose questions they desire to ask to open conversations others may not deem to be good to open in society.
What does having a physical space to make art mean for your process and how do you make your space work for you?
Having a physical space just for my art would mean that I could create it more effectively and explore things I would otherwise be too limited to explore. So far, my space is small, but I hope to clear my room of more things that I do not need and continue cleaning it out so that I could have more space to create or at least more space to see so that my mind would create the art I desire to see be made in the future or would help sharpen my ideas for immersive art that may not necessarily take a physical form.

Week 14 Questions of the week
How does the location or context of a work of art affect its meaning?
Location could give a very specific tone or story background to a piece of artwork whereas, its meaning may change a bit if it would be in a different location because each location holds a very specific back story, I believe. The context may also affect the work or the work may affect the context, this element, I believe is more fluid, because the artwork is a message and the context is more of a message and each can change after communicating with one another.
Are there any particular activities that you do everyday as an artist?
Yes! I write a lot of ideas and collect items and photos of interesting items. So those are the bulk and foundation of my daily activities.

Questions of the Week 13
What do you do to keep yourself motivated and interested in your work?
I usually try to meet new people and get their feedback and ideas in life or about the topics that I make my work for, and then I get really excited and make my own response to those ideas which become topics and represent my next works, kickstarting the creation process. So, I just need to get out there more and meet with new people more.
Can art provoke change or transform our way of thinking? How?
Yes, I believe art can transform our way of thinking as it is a type of communication and so as it states its message and if it is well-described, it may or may not change the minds of the viewers unless the viewer is one that is not open to new ideas. Either way, it can open the perspectives of both the closed minded and open-minded viewer, teaching each person more how to think and ask questions.

Questions of the Week 12
How have the tools and materials of artists changed over time?
I think the tools have become more interactive as they became more advanced over time. I feel like in the past, artists used more physical mediums that represented ideas and could be communicated with, but today more mediums like video and other forms, allow the viewer to respond and communicate with it easier, I believe, however, I have yet to continue my research.
What impact do you think commercialism and the media have had on your work? Is it good or bad?
Commercialism definitely has had an impact on my work and caused me to push myself into a mode of an ideal standard that my work has to match to be qualified as something worth buying, and even though, I have a more immersive unsellable work—or so I think it is—I still wonder how it can be produced and to reach more people and again, I am happy with it as it is, but I feel the pressure—and it is strong—of how can I make it exist out there for others to access and or buy. So the effect is a negative one on me I would say, but I hope to get over this situation and harness my mindset about it to serve me better and ultimately serve more people, that I would love to meet and otherwise may not be able to make a relationship with if I had not somehow published my work.

Week 11 Questions
What role does art play in our society? What role does art play in the church?
Art plays a huge role of influence as it is a form of communication that could quickly and effectively communicate some of the greatest ideas out today, for example, logos are pieces of art that can represent whole companies and missions, that when we see them, we know their whole message and history. Art also plays the role of allowing more freedom in expressing worship and expands the minds to see God in more ways and to be filled with His love as art is cultivated in the church.
How do you want people to remember your work?
I would like people to remember my work as a space where people got to grow and learn new things or ask new questions that they have not asked of themselves yet. A space that can be a stepping stone for them to grow as people.
