We have some important updates regarding the delivery of your ESA registration packages that we want to share with you.

💌 Two Packages No More! 💌

Up until now, we've been sending out your ESA registration materials in two separate packages. The first package typically contained your ESA documents, and the second package had your ESA ID card. We understand that this could sometimes cause confusion, with many of you wondering where your card was when the first package arrived.

🎉 Introducing One Unified Package! 🎉

Starting this week, we're streamlining our delivery process to make things simpler and more convenient for you. We will be combining both packages into one, so you'll receive all your ESA registration materials in a single, unified package.

Your new ESA registration package will include the following:

✅ ESA Certificate ✅ ESA Certification Letter ✅ ESA Housing Letter ✅ ESA ID Card ✅ ESA Keyring ✅ ESA Badge

This change will help ensure that you have all your ESA registration materials together, making it easier for you to access and use them.

Update to our registration policy.

It's important to have specific guidelines and restrictions in place to ensure the safety and well-being of both ESA handlers and the animals involved. Our decision to no longer register certain breeds and to require training certificates for others demonstrates our commitment to responsible ESA registration.

These measures can help prevent potential issues related to breeds that may have specific behavioral traits and ensure that animals are well-prepared to provide emotional support.

Starting on the 23rd of September 2023, we will no longer accept registrations for Mastiff, XL Bullys or Pitbull breeds. Additionally, individuals wishing to register Staffordshire Terriers must provide a certificate confirming that the animal has undergone full training.

Why Do We Use Hidden Disability Support Animal?

The label "hidden disability support animal" is considered preferable to both "mental health support animal" and "emotional support animal" because it acknowledges a wider spectrum of disabilities and conditions beyond mental health and emotional support needs.

While mental health and emotional well-being are essential considerations, the term "hidden disability support animal" recognizes that disabilities can encompass physical, cognitive, sensory, or other impairments that may not be immediately apparent to others.

This inclusive label promotes a more comprehensive understanding and support for individuals with diverse needs, fostering a society that values and accommodates all disabilities, visible or hidden.

Big changes coming! Our new online service will be online in a  few weeks with some major changes, and some of those are you will be able to place the photo on the ESA card and move it around and resize it so you can see what it looks like and as you type in the data it will be automatically displayed on the card. Other changes will be the move from using PayPal, and an expansion into several other countries.

Emotional support animals (ESAs) are often considered "hidden disability animals" because their role is not always immediately apparent to others. Unlike service animals that perform specific tasks, ESAs primarily provide emotional support to individuals with mental health conditions or disabilities. Because their purpose is not immediately obvious, it can be difficult for individuals to have their need for an ESA recognized and respected by others. This can lead to challenges in accessing public spaces and accommodations, and can also result in misconceptions and stigmatization around the use of ESAs. It's important to understand that ESAs play a crucial role in supporting individuals with disabilities, and that their use should be treated with the same respect and understanding as any other disability accommodation.

We will be upgrading our ESA UK web site for a January 1st 2023 launch, so it is the same format & colors of our ESA EU site. This site will be streamlined and have better navigation. To see what it is going to look like (change EU for UK) you can see the ESA EU site here.

Starting on January 1st 2023, we will not be registering the following breed and any variation of the breed - Staffordshire Terrier

The reason is that we have too many reports of these animals with behavioral issues in public, and although the handler (owner) is fully responsible for the behavior of the animal when in public, we have received many direct complaints about this issue, and we have decided to stop registering this breed or any variation of the breed from next month.

We apologize for excluding this breed, but since 2020 we have had increasing reports of bad behavior, including physical attacked on other animals & threatening people.

The existing ESA registrations of this breed will be fazed out as their registrations expire and not renewed by us.

We do suggest that all ESA handlers have public liability insurance & have the ESA trained or under full control when out in public.

Other breeds will be looked at over the next few months to see if more exclusions are required to keep people & animals safe in public.
