so fma au things is that... what if in this au, the escardos ancestor is actually a possessor of a philosopher’s stone and, from there, created flat escardos as an image of who they used to be, because this is mx “i put my descendant’s magic circuits in stasis for 2 millennia to see what happens” escardos. and because it is that same mx escardos, they’re weird enough that instead of keeping their successful creation they just....kind of...

threw flat away?

flat actually has no idea of what he is or any memory of who he was, wandering aimlessly. what he (and everyone else whose attentions he caught) does know is that he’s...kind of skilled in alchemy! and by kind of i mean ridiculously so. people took him in but...then they realized their mistake. this boy is too strange and too unsettling for them to handle so...they basically started playing hot potato with him. that is until he reached the waver household! and good lord what a riot he is in the house. he’s like a puppy that, no matter how many times waver tells him to fuck off, he’ll always come back.

tl;dr: flat’s a homunculus but he doesn’t know it and basically wandered into waver’s life when nobody else wanted him

also while im thinking about the fma au still, waver’s specialty eventually shifts to trying to find the origin of alchemy and also doing everything he can to learn alkahestry to see if he can use it to reverse the damage to his body (so far, no success) and idly researching the philosopher’s stone.

he and iskandar probably live out in the friggin sticks and started in a small house and had to move in to a much larger one because he just ended up with a bunch of lost children.

he doesn’t talk about the human transmutation or his condition. he lets the students make up their own legend – which was mild until flat joined his classroom and had the entire village believing that he and iskandar 1v1′d the entire amestrian army or something ridiculous

are you telling me that iskandar and waver DIDN’T 1v1′d the entire army?????????????????????????????????????????????????

extra bonus

waver committed the sin of human transmutation trying to one-up kayneth el-melloi and that’s how he gets the ego beating.

the cost for it is probably along the same lines as izumi’s too, where over exertion just aggravates old and poorly healed internal injuries and he becomes a blood fountain.

how many times do you think flat would have made him cough up blood
