hello gang! i would like to remind you all that both averno and i are located in the mid-atlantic aka the current cicada hellscape. so i would like to turn my suffering into content for you all. i present:

how the departments are dealing with cicada season:

dcd - the creation students are using the cicadas it for “experiments.” everyone is too afraid to ask what exactly that means, and they aren’t telling. the destruction kids are having a blast with all of the ones on the ground. figuratively and literally. there is some collateral damage.

due - “GUYS WHAT IF THE CICADAS WERE ONE BIG ENTITY TRYING TO REACH OUT TO US???”

dlh - they tried to read outside. they really did. they wanted to have a nice aesthetic time reading poetry and books in forests and fields. but there’s just too many bugs to try and lean up against a tree trunk, and don’t get them started on the NOISE.

dcm - they have been holed up with their conspiracy boards for weeks. they don’t know about the cicadas nor have they seen sunlight in a concerning amount of time. someone please go check on them.

dhp - there are a lot of bug themed offerings on altars. hey waste not want not, right guys? everything is a form of worship if you’re devout enough.

dhs - they sampled the sound and put it into a song for the next party. it works surprisingly well and is just put on loop for weeks in the birdcage.

ddl - they make a language from the cicada noise. just a large gaggle of college students hissing (?) at each other angrily. the rest of the departments think it’s something sinister but it’s just them trying to figure out who broke the coffee machine. (it was dcd.)
