Jealousy || Suho x Chen
Chen is clingy. He doesn't like to admit it, but he's very clingy. He likes when attention is on him and only him and doesn't like to be put second.
Siwon gave him that attention, whether it was scolding him or tossing candies at his head, he still gave him attention. However, now that Siwon's been spending more time out of the tent with others, Chen's found himself bitter of those who get more of the man's time.
Chen's a weird kid, he likes having someone's absolute focus on him at all times. It would explain why he's so obnoxious and such a pain. Even bad attention is attention in his head. He just wants to be focused on.
So one rainy day when Siwon and Zico were off elsewhere (Zico's a freaking weirdo and Chen never knows where he goes off to), Chen was bored out of his mind and craving some sort of attention. He hated being bored. Bored made him think and thinking sometimes put his mind into bad places he didn't want to go to. It was unnerving.
He jumped when the tent opened a bit, a familiar face sliding in.
Suho was new to their tent, and though they hadn't spoken much, Chen felt an odd attraction to the other male. He always liked to be just a bit louder around him, just a bit more obvious. He liked having the older man's attention on him.
Something about him made goosebumps rise on Chen's skin and his hands to turn clammy. It made his face flush and somehow he could never speak.
The other male intrigued him, with his handsome features and his quiet, studious habits. He'd heard that the man was very friendly and welcoming, but in the tent he tended to be quiet. Still, he had an air about him that soothed Chen whenever he was present. It even made his jealousy for Siwon disappear into thin air, leaving nothing but this crackling electricity in Chen's veins that made him nervous.
He watched as the other man strode over to his cot, watching him for a moment before looking away quickly when the man turned to peer at him. He pretended he hadn't been staring.

Chen looked over the book, glancing at the title page and registering that it was a fantasy novel. A story about a princess, perhaps?
"Lost, hm?" He tilted the book again, holding her place in the pages before flipping through, scanning through some of the words. "Maybe you should pay some attention next time. There are some weirdos around here.." He glanced up at her through his eyelashes, still searching through the book. "Wouldn't want someone like you to get hurt, right?" He smiled then, realizing he might be intimidating after sneaking up on her. "Sorry if I scared you. I wasn't sure how to approach you.." He scratched the back of his head, holding her book back out to her.
"It sounds interesting." He smiled again. "What's it about?" He decided to try and ease her. He knew fear when he saw it, and he was worried that she felt trapped. He knew that feeling very well, and he didn't want her to run and get a bad impression. "I'm Jongdae, by the way. I'm new to the circus.." He took a good look at her then.
She's very pretty, in his opinion, though her expression of fear bothered him. He didn't like inflicting that sort of emotion. It bothered him greatly.
"Again, I'm really sorry if I scared you.. I'm a bit awkward.." He smiled weakly.
A Simple Trick || Chen & Luna
The book in Luna’s hands had absorbed her entirely since the beginning. She had started it just a day ago, but she couldn’t stop reading. She only left the book when she had to do something important. It wasn’t the first time this happened though, it was quite usual in fact. As the bookworm she was, she was almost always engrossed in one book or another, and it was almost always that those books caught her and didn’t let her go until she finished, sometimes in just one night or day.
As any other night, Luna was reading a book, and as any other time, she was walking around while she read. She knew it wasn’t the safest thing to do, that was for sure, but it was an old habit she couldn’t shake off. She had wandered, half-knowingly and half-lost, to a not very crowded place, and she wasn’t really sure where exactly she was. She knew she was in the Cirque, and she knew she was in an area in which most new members were placed. She didn’t really mind where she was though, as long as she wasn’t completely lost. She had her book, and that was more than enough.
It disappeared from her hands soon, though. Too engrossed in the reading, she didn’t realize the boy sneaking behind her until the book vanished from her sight. Turning around with wide eyes, Luna went silent for a moment before finding something to say. “I, uhm, I got lo-lost…” She finally said, voice barely over a whisper. She didn’t know the boy, though his face seemed slightly familiar, and an expression of fear immediately set on her face when she couldn’t recognize him.

Having a new home was a great change to Jongdae. He had multiple areas to adjust to, new faces, a new bed, even new roommates. He'd been very distracted lately due to having to adjust to a new beginning to his life. He'd even began to wander around the circus grounds on his spare time to memorize each and every area. He was used to knowing everything, and not knowing everything bothered him.
But nonetheless, he settled for exploring that day, heading closer to the forest this time around to check on how far the grounds really went.
Hearing a rustle in the treeline, Jongdae felt his body tense up and he glanced around, suddenly more aware of how alone and quiet it had become. He felt spooked.
A louder rustle made him jump, someone running out from the trees and startling him into jumping back further.
What he saw, however, bothered him greatly and even made him pause.
It was.. him? Someone who looked like him, atleast, but it was a near double to Jongdae. The same face, the same hair, same body type.. His nose and eyes looked exactly like how he did when he looked in the mirror, though slightly off.
Studies have been made that if you were to see a double of yourself, you wouldn't recognize them. The way you perceive a mirror image is different from how others would see you.
But this troubled Jongdae, because even though it was slightly off, he still knew this person looked looked like him.
When the other man spoke and grabbed him, though, Jongdae knew something was off. The voice wasn't right. He'd heard himself before, but he knew this man sounded nothing like him. He wasn't even wearing clothes similar to his own.
"... Alright, you're.. very funny." He said slowly, though he tried not to scream and run away. "But who are you?"
Doppelganger || Chunji & Chen
Chunji’s moods changed like that of a tropical climate –it was nearly always muggy, and it would rain…but on occasion things would take a sudden turn into the storms. Now, most people would assume that these ‘storms’ were about more negative emotions, and he couldn’t lie, he still had moments like that, but some of those cleared out old, dead plants. Obviously this metaphor would not have gone on for so long if the latter was the case –and that was exactly it. His largest exception was when he got into the mood to prank, and while he normally didn’t feel inclined to do this, some days his fingers just itched until he made annoying magic.
Today happened to be one of those days, so Chanhee hid himself outside, waiting around for the perfect person to wander by. Some seemed like they couldn’t take a job, some didn’t seem like they’d give the proper reaction, and others seemed too busy for him to interrupt them. His desire had begun to fade into a dulled apathy, until the perfect new victim wandered by –a new cirque member, in fact. Smiling to himself, he stole along the tree line, eyes skimming over this man’s form like he was thinking to purchase some fruit and wanted to check to see if it was ripe enough. As each part became committed to memory, his body shifted to fit it, him even going ahead a bit when he did the legs and spine, just so he wouldn’t have to run to keep up afterward.
When he had fully taken on this new form, he could only hope that he had formed the throat properly enough that the voice would sound right. Chunji had no choice but to try it like that, and he took a deep breath, before he burst out of the trees, letting a panicked look encompass his new face as he cried, “You need to help me!” Hands grasped at the man’s shirt, his own widening with fear and shock, as he slipped further into this role that in reality he had no real idea on how to play. He should have watched more thoroughly; he should have stolen some of his clothes, rather than go in his own, though they still fit. For a perfect prank, he should have done all of the things listed above and more –but he wasn’t out to commit a perfect prank. Simply enough, he was out to have some fun, and that was what he would do.

A Simple Trick || Chen & Luna
Jongdae hadn't been at the circus for very long, but he had caught on to the schedules of its inhabitants. He'd begun to notice their quirks and habits, who was who, who did what, etc. It was a bit hard to keep track, considering the number of people, but some did manage to stick out.
Especially the girl wandering around the circus grounds. Chen remembers her well. The Animal Girl. She could mimic voices and her act was based on that. She was interesting, for sure. Quite pretty too, in his opinion. But that was besides the point.
Her name was Luna, if he was correct. She had a habit of having her head in the clouds and her nose stuck in a book. He noticed she seemed a bit withdrawn when she wasn't performing, and didn't interact a whole lot.
Chen was bored, though, and no one else was around. So he decided he'd have a little fun with the girl to pass the time.
He didn't have a particular joke or prank in mind, so when he snuck up behind the girl, he couldn't help but panic a bit.
So he did what was on his mind, quickly throwing his arm over her shoulder and snatching her book, quickly hiding it behind his back. A sly smile spread over his lips.
"What brings you near the Mauvelous tent?" He tilted his head, voice cheeky and full of amusement. "You don't normally stray very far." He watched her face contort from concentration to shock, a chuckle leaving him. "What's the matter, cat got your tongue?"
