I do NOT want authors or showrunners or actors to acknowledge us or talk about fanfic or fanart or fan theories! I do NOT want people asking questions of the canon creators and getting them answered (make up your own answers, like god intended!) I do NOT want companies making jokey advertisements aimed toward fandom!

I know that fandom was never entirely underground but like... I miss that fourth wall existing, you know?

There is no shame in just jotting down the main points in a scene and revisiting it later. It’s ok to just not be feeling it sometimes.

I think one of my favorite things about writing fanfic is that you can just... keep going. Write as many different endings to the story as you want. As many different AUs. You can write the same scene a hundred times and change what happens every time.

It's the most freeing feeling, that I don't have to choose.

We need to bring back fanfics where the author talks to the characters in the chapter notes and occasional intertexual asides, and through this medium the reader gradually becomes aware of a whole secondary metanarrative concerning the interpersonal dramas of the notional "actors" playing the characters in the fic.

Thinking that fandom is some ladder where you can gaslight, gatekeep, girlboss your way to the top is not the bad bitch move you think it is.

Stepping on real people and treating them like obstacles to some sort of end goal in a fandom is fucking stupid. Who the hell do you think you are, actually?

Fandom is not a game where you can torture and treat characters any way you want to level up. Fandom spaces are filled with real people with real emotions and beautiful life stories, and just because we are inside your phone/computer doesn't mean we're lines of code like the apps you talk to us on.

Like really, what was the plan? Fandom is for enjoying things and creating and forming meaningful connections with people. It's not for gathering people like chess pieces and knocking the others off the board.

Fandom is not about being useful or popular. No one ever has the right to decide who is important or who isn't or measure people's self worth based on what they can/can't do or how many followers they have.

You have absolutely no right to steal people's peace and joy or make them feel insignificant.
