I've started doing some crappy sketches, for context I'm 20 and should probably be a ton better at this stuff, but I enjoy it so ❤️ I'm probs Gunna post some other stuff soon but here's some very work in progress Rick. The kind of okay one is me trying to emulate an acc Rick pic the others are just me trying to freeball 😅

if you were the crewniverse, which episodes would you pick for emmy consideration?

well, the episode can’t depend too much on context. judges may not have watched the whole show… in other words, no “jailbreak” or “super watermelon island”, as exciting as those are. you need simplicity. you need standalone.

season one A: rose’s room. this one introduces a concept, and then does everything to twist it out of proportion. it is eerie. it’s got a great sense of tension and discomfort. all you really need is steven in fake beach city.

season one B: alone together. it may seem a bit heavy at first, but fusion is a simple enough concept for casual viewers to grasp without too much introduction. they just kind of do it, and you get it. the first half of this ep is pure joy. the dance scene between steven and connie is strong enough that you buy their bond without much context. like rose’s room, it also visually illustrates its points beautifully, in its bliss and horror and panic.

season two: honestly, i think the answer was their best bet, even if a little lore-heavy… but if not, we need to talk. this episode has a looot of subtle little cues, but they’re explored within the episode. the communication between characters is told visually - greg’s little Look when rose calls him ‘entertaining’. pearl twirling around greg to illustrate how Totally Unbothered she is. rose looking away when saying she’s “not” a real person… even now, we’re not 100% sure what that means, but the emotion of the episode is so strong, you don’t need everything explained. it is enough. the theme of rose respecting greg is illustrated and dealt with in one fell swoop.

season three: tbh i am stretching the limits on lore, cause there was SO much plot this season… but if mr. greg could lose, we gotta go with monster reunion. i know, it’s about corruption. i know, it involves the whole ‘gem war’ thing. i know. but it has a very strong emotional core. you don’t need to understand everything to cry at the absolute despair and frustration of the drawing scene… it conveys desperation brilliantly. when centipeetle starts to turn back, while already at her lowest point… i couldn’t ask for a better moment to feel hopeless.

season four: well duh, it’s mindful education. the song is beautiful, the topic is handled very tastefully, the characters and artistry work together brilliantly, in particular when talking about steven’s trauma. even if you don’t know what happened between him and those three big gems, you get what he’s going through. the guilt, anxiety, and panic is just perfect. i will fight all the nerds who act like this is the only great ep in the first half of s4, but i will not deny that it’s the best.

season five: i’m not one to count my chickens, but right now? pool hopping. without a doubt. even if you don’t know what future vision is, it’s not hard to understand. the explanation is simple and almost poetic. from there, it’s the perfect blend of random-yet-in-character comedy, and exploring the deeper insecurity that lurks beneath. a simple, comforting story told with pathos, adorableness, lovely animation and a mature, healthy ending.
