I made this arrangement (in Jeff Buckley's (November 17, 1966 – May 29, 1997) version) of Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah" for my students . They love to play it because it is so "free" in the way that there is space for improvisation and taking your time... the timing in Jeff Buckley's version and my arrangement is very important. It should be played with a Capo in 5th fret but you can play it without one too... Experience Classical music - pure and simple - at an evening of performance by RYAL SEQUEIRA, hosted by Canvas Creations in association with KalaRasa. RYAL SEQUEIRA born in Bangalore in 1989, Ryal Sequeira began his classical guitar studies at the Bangalore School of Music at the age of ten. He learnt the blockflute or recorder from the age of six and continued for ten years. He has been graded in both instruments. As a student of architecture he returned to teach at the BSM and subsequently St Mary’s Boys Orphanage. He has played competitively and now looks forward to playing to diverse audiences in aid of charity.

London Symphony Orchestra - Visualizing Motion and Music from Tobias Gremmler on Vimeo.

Motion becomes music becomes image! I created dynamic visuals based on the movements of the conductor and music, and extracted high resolution stills for the visual identity of the orchestra. It starts with the arms of the conductor forming a hexagonal shape that propagates like sonic waves in linear space. When the music becomes louder, the linearity gets bended by the motion of the baton, which results more complex visual arrangements. Textures, colors, materials and lights are inspired by classical instruments (wood, brass, wind, strings) and the atmosphere and architecture of classic concert halls. In the last sequence, the conductors motion turns into strings. The waveform of the sound adds to the form of motion, like mixing audio waves.
