Top Ways to Make Your Condo Look and Feel Fresh through Interior Design
Tumblr media
For some people, living in a condo can get quite boring at times. It doesn’t mean, however, that you have to move out and find a new home. When your condo starts to bore you, consider that your cue to spruce up and give your condo a more modern and fresher look.
Unlike landed houses, condominiums have limited floor space. Condo interior design begins with planning how to utilise the available space, so each part of the unit provides a specific function, and at the same time, promotes your desired levels of comfort and aesthetic.
Among the ways you can maximise condo interior design are:
1. Replace the hardware and fixtures with new ones.
Home fixtures and accessories are subject to wear and tear. This is true, especially for the installations you use daily. Exposure to different climate environments also affects the quality of home fixtures, and over time they lose their ability to function correctly.
For instance, plumbing fixtures, such as faucets, pipes, and bidets, are items you use regularly. They are subject to getting wet and dry, and after some time, they can develop mould and mildew. They may also leak, clog, and break. By means of regular replacement of these fixtures, you are assured not only of quality plumbing but, more importantly, enjoy comfortable and stress-free living in your condo.
You may want to look at the fixtures and accessories that seem to require regular replacement, such as lighting sources, wiring and cable installations, and bathroom and kitchen accessories.
2. Illuminate.
Illumination is key to boosting any home’s features, including condo units. Brightening up a small space makes it look bigger and wider, as well as more conducive for a specific or a wide range of activities.
You may want to welcome natural light into your home by opening up the windows and drapes. Shifting to light-coloured curtains allows not only more sunlight but fresh air to enter too. You may also add drama into the room by adding accent lights that highlight certain areas of the condo, especially during the night.
Illuminating the condo takes away the gloomy atmosphere and makes the overall space look more cheerful. The ambiance brought by lighting also affects your mood and enables you to feel more comfortable and relaxed in your abode.
3. Incorporate green décor.
You may also want to freshen up your condo by having an indoor or terrace garden. Indoor plants likewise serve as accents that not only represent nature in your condo but also help in keeping air circulation clean.
Green décor also provides a relaxing vibe in your condo. It reduces the feeling of being cramped or contained in a closed space and promotes freedom of movement, not only physically but mentally and emotionally too.
4. Dedicate a tranquil corner.
When planning about space utilisation for your condo, it is also recommended that you dedicate a place that promotes tranquillity.
This particular area of the condo shall be your place for meditation and relaxation. A growing trend in interior design, tranquil corners have become popular because they help you connect with inner self after a day of chores and tasks.
Indeed, when you’re at home, you have control of just about everything. However, you become preoccupied when doing activities such as cooking, cleaning, doing the laundry, etc. After these activities, you end up tired and still stressed.
Most people think that stress can be relieved by sleeping alone, but sometimes, you cannot enjoy a good sleep and would want to relax first.
A tranquil space allows you to let go of these stressors more positively. You can use this as your place to pray, perform breathing exercises, and other practices that boost your wellbeing, without compromising other areas of the condo.

3. Make a "palette of spot" in your office.
Your workers are individuals as well. They have to inhale and unwind, in any event, when at work. In such a manner, you might need to make a "palette of spots." It alludes to layering various spaces wherein your representatives become presented to different conditions without leaving the working environment.

Simple Ways to Clean Your Kitchen Appliances
Tumblr media
In this time of Covid-19, we are all reminded to stay indoors, maintain cleanliness, and most of all, disinfect our surroundings. It’s because the virus, which has now become a pandemic, can be spread through surface contact.
We then have to make sure that our skin, particularly our hands, are sanitized all the time. Of course, the same goes with the things we touch and hold regularly, such as our gadgets and appliances.
But how do we do the same in the kitchen? As we all know, the kitchen is the most vulnerable part of the home towards bacteria and viruses. With all the mess happening in this part of the house, all we can do to keep it Covid-19-proof is by making sure that it is sanitised and disinfected.
And yes, this includes all our Odette appliances. So, how do we make sure our kitchen appliances are clean? Here are tips to start with:
Blenders, mixers, and food processors
Remove the blades and other parts, then soak them in warm water and dishwashing liquid. You can handwash the blender carafe and the food processor bowl, or run them in the dishwasher.
Scour the blades with a nylon brush, then dry all pieces thoroughly. Wipe them dry with a clean towel to avoid rust.
Coffee makers
When cleaning Odette coffeemakers, remove and wash the filter and the carafe. Soak both parts in warm soapy water, rinse then assemble them back. Pour two to three cups of water and an equal amount of white vinegar into the water chamber and hit the brew button.
Turn the machine off halfway through the cycle and let the solution sit inside the chamber for an hour. Then turn it back on and complete the cycle. Run a couple of cycles of plain water through the machine to ensure that you get rid of all the vinegar residue before making a new brew.
Microwave ovens
You first have to prepare them for cleaning by placing a coffee mug filled with water and lemon slices in the center of the oven, then run the machine on high for about 3 minutes. Allow the lemon water to sit for another three minutes to soften the food spills and get rid of the odor inside.
Afterwards, clean the interiors by wiping the walls with a wet cloth, soaked in warm and soapy water. Scrub the turntable with a toothbrush, and then the exterior walls with a cloth soaked in dish washing liquid.
Toasters and toaster ovens
When cleaning toasters, it is important that you unplug the appliance first, then empty the crumb trays. This makes it easier for you to tidy up the mess. Afterwards, remove the toaster-oven racks, and allow them to sit in warm soapy water, while scrubbing off the charred food using a brush or sponge.
Clean the interior by wiping the insides with a wet cloth. Remove all burned-on food with a toothbrush, and reach into the slots of the regular toaster with a pastry brush.
You can also remove the knobs and soak them in soap and water before rinsing them dry. For the exteriors, wipe the walls with a wet washcloth, and do the same as that in microwave ovens.
In a nutshell
Cleaning your kitchen appliances ensure you of safe dining and food preparation right in your very own home, especially in the time of Covid-19. The steps mentioned above are easy to follow and do not require rocket science, so it’s best to start doing them today.
Odette appliances will greatly benefit from these cleaning methods. Not only do you keep them clean at all times; they also work better when in their top, well-maintained condition.

Level Up Your Home Office Interiors with These Expert Advice Tips
Tumblr media
The emergence of the coronavirus pandemic has made working from home the new norm. However, while many already have a comfortable home office set up, others have yet to create the home office that suits their needs.
Fortunately, converting a space into a home office is easy if you know how. The following expert tips can help you turn any space into a comfortable and cosy home office:
Choose a conducive work location.
A productive office interior design begins with choosing a conducive work location. If you are used to working in an office, working from home can be challenging. While the concept can seem fresh and exciting at first, many find themselves eventually exhausted. Why? Many believe it’s because they’re not in their so-called “work zone.”
It is also likely that you are still trying to structure how your day working from home should go and how you can better maximise your time. Without a robust work structure and a conducive place to do work in, you can end up not being able to accomplish anything work-related. That being said, the importance of picking the best place in your house to do work in cannot be overstated.
The space should not only be comfortable, it should be situated in a place where you can work with as minimal distractions as possible. In line with this, choose a space that has adequate lighting, less noise, and good internet connection--things you need to get work done quickly and efficiently.
Dedicate enough space where you can work comfortably.
Apart from being conducive to work, your home office interior design should also have enough elbow room so you can work as comfortably as possible. The luxury to stretch and relax at any time you deem fit is without doubt one of the best perks working from home offers. Working in comfort is also crucial so you can be more productive and get more things done.
Use a table with sufficient surface area to do various tasks.
In the cubicle culture, you only have limited space to move around and get work done. This can be frustrating especially when you use items that will require more table space. If your job requires a wide work area (i.e. architects, interior designers, or engineers), then it would be best to use a desk that has ample space so you can get work done comfortably.
Invest in an office chair.
A home office is never complete without the right chair. And no, it’s not recommended that you just use any chair you can find at home. In line with this, consider it a good investment to purchase a chair that’s comfortable and adjustable so both your ergonomic and comfort needs are met accordingly.
In addition, the right chair will not only help you work in ease and comfort, they can also do wonders for your health and wellbeing. For starters, the right chair can help ensure you don’t put so much stress on your spine and neck especially when putting in long work hours.
Let the natural light in.
Lastly, it is also recommended that you prioritise letting the natural light into your home office. Apart from helping you save on electricity, natural light can also help improve your psychosocial wellbeing by adjusting your circadian rhythm. Also, the illumination you receive from daylight is healthy on the eyes and can help regulate your biological clock, allowing you to work at your peak waking hours and rest at the appropriate time.
