Spoilers ahead for deadly premonition 2 !

I am not that sure i like Professor R boss form, everything looks so masculine compared to her whole character arc, maybe i am misunderstanding something… but that big naked masc chest and the dragonfly form, i mean its almost as if they took everything she wanted to get away from.

Maybe the boss form is supposed to be inherently evil and make them forget their purpose on earth for the goodness of the sect ? I did not know Galina long enough to decorticate her boss form better. I will look into that later.

This is all very off the cuff and not super in depth but

Two things I noticed looking back at Galena’s boss form is that she has long messy hair and is dressed rather provocatively, I can’t tell if it’s a crop top or if she’s topless with the dragonfly covering her chest.

I think in episode 3 or 4 Zach or Aaliyah ( I can’t recall atm ) say that when Galena tried to become famous in Hollywood her co-starts would chop up her hair, scripts, and clothes with scissors and a director almost tricked her into going into the pornography business. It could be that her boss form represents this trauma and failure that followed her all the way back to Lè Carre. York even comments that she looks like a Hollywood movie monster.

Lena’s form could represent how she feels she can’t escape from her cursed bloodline/ Clarkson heritage or her dedication to destroy them all even herself. At first I wanted to look at her masculine form in a more positive light, it doesn’t matter what her body looks like it’s still hers but if Galena’s form is suppose to represent an aspect of herself that she loathes that likely applies to Lena as well.

Avery and Zachs forms are much more straightforward, Avery is essentially a little boy in a giant body while Zach is almost entirely engulfed by tree roots representing how Kaysen’s influence has engulfed his life and how this trauma nearly turns him into the monsters he once fought against but despite everything a small bit of his humanity remains refusing to let Kaysen fully corrupt him. Another thing I noticed is how the tree parts of him look like the corpses left behind by red sapling victims such as his mother. George as well is pretty straightforward, he sees himself as a big powerful beast standing over Greenvale but it’s all a front to hide how traumatized the beatings he got from his mother were to him as shown by the scars on his back being exposed and his biggest weak point during the fight.

Phew... i’m not gonna lie my feelings towards this game were flip flopping all over the place. I don’t know if it beats out the first one in my heart but the ending made me love it for sure. It was just so perfect, it’s late and my heart is still pounding  and I’ve never been good at articulating in feelings into words at all but.... this game warmed my heart in a very very dark and horrible year and I will forever be thankful. I hope Zach and Patti will be happy together as a new sort of little family, lord knows how much they both deserve this happy ending. Can’t wait to see the post credit scenes, i’m sure they’ll be as bizarre as the rest of the game!

and Goodbye York... I will always miss you <3
