in a series of poor life choices i was awake for most of this match but then fell asleep after the hurtig goal… in my reality of just waking up again and not knowing the result madde scored a late winner 🥳

i don‘t understand why the others are not doing what patri and mapi are doing, i know it could be a big sacrifice but it would‘ve a bigger impact for sure if they would all stand together

it doesn’t work like that. had they all left, the federation would’ve called the younger players. they would’ve been easier to influence and nothing would’ve ever changed.

which is exactly what happened after the las 15 scenario. those who said they won’t come in, they were replaced for 6 months or so. and then you had people like athenea in the team who can be influenced without even scratching your head. as per the rfef, everyone is replaceable.

when the players entered that meeting, they were all of the intention to leave. but for the first time ever, there is a lot of pressure on the rfef.

the players who are staying aren’t staying because they’re convinced or something. they’re staying because they’re going to make sure the changes occur. every single time in the past, the rfef has said a lot but did nothing in action.

mapi and patri simply are in a very different position. there has always been a lot of pressure on them. they gave up something as big as the world cup with guaranteed starting positions in the team. do you really think they would want to ever come back like the way they were forcefully summoned? specially when they stood up like the way they did? they’ve left because mentally they can’t deal with everything that the rfef has put them through in the last couple of months. they will be back. and they’ve said so themselves.

i have a lot of people asking what of amaiur? i think the euros were a big enough example that she was never going to be called up by vilda irrespective. so losing out on the world cup wasn’t a big a wound for her as it was for mapi and patri. she does have a wound nonetheless because the world cup is every player’s dream. even just to play in the tournament, forget the part about winning.

even when they aren’t the captains, alexia and irene are the leaders and unsaid captains of the team. they would never leave the others behind because they consider it all as their responsibility. just because they’re there, doesn’t mean they’re there willingly or convinced by any means.

some of you just blatantly do not understand the situation or anything and just want to pounce on the players and hating on them.

things don’t work out the way YOU want them to work out. and you may think it would’ve had a greater impact but it doesn’t work like that.

also, they’re all still united and together. athenea is the exception and she’s already had a pretty amazing face off with the rest of the players yesterday.

i would’ve been the first one to call all the players out if i felt their decision to stay back was wrong. but they’re there and making sure the changes occur. one of the biggest already has happened. andreu camps, one of the main rubi-ism guys is sacked. and it’s just the beginning.

they don’t want to retire from the national team. they want to change things. and in yesterday’s case, this was how it had to be done.

so power to every single player in camp right now (minus athenea)
