Better Call Saul showrunner Peter Gould accepts the Award for Best Drama Series at the 28th Critics Choice Awards (15th January 2023)
Thank you so much, critics; you indulged this very unlikely spinoff and lightning struck twice, because of you guys and because of our brilliant, brilliant audience!

I'll be a broken record and say it again and again but fuck they really did create the perfect ending for that show. The way it doesn't fully click until the very last moment that it actually was a love story, it was all about Kim and Jimmy's relationship and internal conflicts and personal growth. How their reunion felt natural and honest and peaceful, despite them being in a literal prison. How they managed to bring the story to a closure and yet leave space for hope at the end (and really there is no reason to believe they'll never be together again while everything points in that direction). It all makes sense and feels right. I still think about that ending, I'll always remember Jimmy and Kim because it really is one of the most complex, touching and masterfully rendered love stories ever written.
Also Bob and Rhea 💖💖💖 bless them love them forever grateful to them
