Pile 1:
My love, The ocean waves flow in a calm manner, The breeze hits our faces with a refreshing mark. The blanket flees like a seagull, and our laugh echoes through the wind. Your cheesy remark makes me laugh, our food is now a mess, Yet we aren’t mad nor sad, we leave the area alone—find our way home, To see a beautiful sunset coming upon the shore. The fishes feel safe, the turtles aren’t sad and so are we. Come and find me, my dear, I am waiting patiently, I will wait till my death, For I am hopelessly in love with you, And will always be.

Pile 2:
A wishing well is beneath us, Come and find it—wish for me as I wish for you, Seek beneath the unknown and look for a wishing well, My darling, let’s go on an adventure—allow us to be Alice in wonderland, Let’s become Coraline without the other mother, Seek a thrill with me. Let’s run down a hill and feel the cool breeze on our faces, Lay down on a flower field and look into each other’s eyes. You’re so beautiful, my heart beats faster every day, My heart cannot take the beauty I see within you. Red pinkish cheeks and a smile on my face with you. Cold hands, cold heart, the energy of the cold, But with you it all changes. You’re my sun, my warmth, my everything, I cannot imagine my life without you because, you, my angel, Are everything my heart desires and yet here we are. I’ve been so blessed to call you mine—I cannot imagine my life without you. I just cannot, I just never will. You are my everything.

Pile 3:
Beauty and Beast will never compare to the way I fell in love with you, Your soul caught my eyes instantly, You do not know the feelings I felt the moment I laid eyes on you, You walked, I looked, I knew. My mind told me to come after you and yet I did not, For I am a coward, but you appeared in my life again, And again, and again… That was my sign to race after you, I’m so thankful I did, Listening to my heart was the best thing I did, I get to hold you in my arms and cuddle you until you fall asleep, Singing to you, laughing with you is better than a fairytale, Love is like a fairytale, but this is not a tale, This is a tale of perfection—sweet, beautiful, perfection. Your eyes sparkle when we dance under the moonlight, Seeing a galaxy in your eyes, Looking under the stars is not a comparison, The way you look at me is something I cannot stop thinking of. You’re always on my mind, I wouldn’t change it for a thing. You’re my star, my rose, my everything, Je t’aime beaucoup. (I love you very much)

Pile 4:
Loving you was the hardest, I could not do it, I didn’t want to do it, But I did. It was the greatest feeling known to man. You’re my shining knight in armor, The one thing I was missing, The one thing I yearn for, Yet was afraid of. For you, I’m so ever thankful, You do not know the love and compassion you have shown me. My best friend, my love, my princess/prince. Thank you for showing me to be vulnerable, Showing me the beauty of falling in love, I would do this journey over again, Till my breath stops. You’re the wish, I didn’t know I needed. You’re the love I didn’t know I deserved. You’re the adventure I yearned for. You’re the blessing I thought didn’t exist. You’re the reason why I cry happy tears, The reason why I feel safe, The reason why I’m not paranoid anymore, The reason I feel special every day, The reason I’m excited to go home, You are my home. I am so lucky. Very, Very lucky.

learning lenormand after learning tarot is so frustrating.
with tarot it's like, "five of wands? Conflict! five of wands + tower? Conflict that ends in disaster! five of wands + four of swords? Conflict that ends in rest, or maybe the conflict is coming to a rest! Conflict, you get it."
with lenormand it's like, "snake? well this could be a very sexy lesbian. Oh, snake + mountain? Well obviously that means that very few exotic breeds will be entered into the dog show this year, or maybe that your husband has a mistress, does that help?"

Major arcana: a brief overview
The Major Arcana of a tarot deck consists of 22 trump cards, also known as the Major Arcana cards. These cards represent significant events or themes in a person's life and are often associated with deeper, spiritual meaning.

The Fool: represents new beginnings, unpredictability, and taking risks.
The Magician: represents creativity, resourcefulness, and the power to manifest one's desires.
The High Priestess: represents mystery, intuition, and the unconscious mind.
The Empress: represents fertility, abundance, and nurturing.
The Emperor: represents authority, leadership, and structure.
The Hierophant: represents tradition, religion, and spirituality.
The Lovers: represents love, relationships, and choices.
The Chariot: represents determination, drive, and overcoming obstacles.
Strength: represents courage, inner strength, and self-control.
The Hermit: represents introspection, solitude, and wisdom.
The Wheel of Fortune: represents cycles, change, and luck.
Justice: represents balance, fairness, and truth.
The Hanged Man: represents sacrifice, perspective, and enlightenment.
Death: represents transformation, rebirth, and letting go.
Temperance: represents balance, moderation, and harmony.
The Devil: represents temptation, materialism, and enslavement.
The Tower: represents upheaval, chaos, and revelation.
The Star: represents hope, inspiration, and self-improvement.
The Moon: represents fear, illusion, and the unknown.
The Sun: represents joy, success, and vitality.
Judgement: represents judgement, accountability, and redemption.
The World: represents completeness, accomplishment, and wholeness.
The meanings of the Major Arcana cards can vary depending on the context in which they appear in a reading and the reader's interpretation of them. It is important to remember that tarot is a tool for personal growth and self-discovery and that the interpretation of the cards is highly subjective.

Illuminate My Path A sunshine inspired tarot spread
This tarot spread has been inspired by the Sunshine that has been gracing my home in recent weeks; all is aglow and all in bright, and thus it feels right to utilise this Sunshine to shed some light onto ourselves and see where we are headed.
1. The Ground: Just where is your current path based? In what, is your foundation; your beginning; your inspiration? What drives you? Is it growth? Learning? Spirituality? This card will tell you.
2. The Sky: Where will this path take you? You are headed up and away, but where is up and away? What will following this path lead you towards? Fulfillment, hurt, or something else entirely,…
3. The 1st Branch (physical): Paths often wind and twist and branch off into new and interesting places - where else will this path lead to? What opportunities that you did not expect will reveal themselves to you should you continue on this journey?
4. The 2nd Branch (emotional): This path may open up or make you vulnerable to new emotions and feelings; how does this path make you feel and how can you deal with these emotions?
Feel free to use and reblog as you wish, but do not re-post or remove the caption. If you use this spread in paid readings, all I ask is that credit is given to me as its creator. Copyright: ©The Mori Witch. All rights reserved, 2018.

Winter Solstice Tarot Spread
Happy solstice, everyone! Both for the winter and summer, for those of you in the southern hemisphere. I hope y'all have a great time celebrating today & I wanted to thank everyone that has followed me recently. It means a lot!
Here's the winter solstice spread for 2022. It's based off of a spread I created many moons ago, revamped and updated.
Tumblr media
As always, feel free to share your cards pulled with me! I love seeing 'em. If you don't want a message from your ancestors, you can replace it with a deity, daemon, your guides, etc. I like to do a rune with each card placement, as well as utilize some of my oracle decks for the hell of it.
That being said, what's everyone doing for the solstice? I'll be doing a ritual later, but this morning I'm brewing up some tea for a potion I've done for several years. If I have everything I need, I may have the time to get crafty with what I'm thinking could be a winter solstice witches ladder to take out annually...but I'm not too sure how it will turn out yet or what the plan is. We shall see.

What I've learned from working with the deities..
•They're going to watch you when you are at your best and when you are at your worst.
•They are going to watch you make stupid decisions and learn from your mistakes.
•They will let you know with subtle hints that they are with you whether you realize it or not.
•They understand that you are mortal, and inconsistent, and flawed, and learning- they forgive.
•You will fall in love with things you may have not been interested in before (seashells, water/oceans/beaches, lavender)
•Your interpretation of your deity will not be the same as others, and its beautiful.
•There will be times where you fall out of practice, and your deities will sometimes wait for you, otherwise you will have to wait for them.
•Sometimes you just have to sit there and rant. Whether they lend you an ear or not, your energy won't be wasted.
•You might have self-doubt and feel as though your are not doing enough when it comes to your devotion- you are though. Always.

The main differences from learning about Christianity as a kid (was never a devout Christian, can’t even tell you what denomination we were meant to be) and being a pagan now: I tell my gods that I love them. I chat to them about serious stuff and stupid stuff. I don’t fear them, or fear the parts of me that are dark, weak, or unwell. I don’t look at Earth as a punishment or a trial for a more ‘heavenly’ reward. I feel them in the forest, the sea, the soil, and I recognise that the world is a truly wondrous place. They always feel nearby. They aren’t perfect and they don’t expect me to be either. They just continue to push me along, hoping that their silly little human is in a better state than they found me.

Red Pepper Spellbreaker
Tumblr media
Used for: Breaking up and chasing away suspected malefica, unwanted presences, and various undesired energies.
Be careful when burning dried peppers or having them next to open flame. The first and only step to macing yourself is lighting dried red peppers on fire. Seriously, have your inhaler handy.
(Only 4 steps but it reads a bit long as I explain theory along the way)
Materials:
A candle of any size or color (if taking recommendations: taper or smaller for a quick-ish burn; red is ideal).
Dry red peppers, whole, flaked, or powdered. The hotter, the better (red pepper flake packets from the pizza place work well). The peppers may be suspended in a carrier oil.
A touch of carrier oil, such as olive oil (without peppers in it). Or, tap water.
Paper and a pen.
A small offering: three coins, a glass of water, and a small gift of your own choosing will suffice.
All statements may be thought, signed, or written instead of spoken.
Steps:
1. On the paper, write out in detail everything you want to be broken up and banished. Say you only have a vague feeling of a heavy energy holding you down: write about it. Write about how it feels and what the symptoms are and where you feel it most. Write out all your suspicions, worries, concerns. Describe what you're feeling. Write about when you think it started, or when you first noticed it.
This may be a sentence, but the more the better - feel free to accumulate paragraphs or pages of writing.
Whenever you are done emptying your desires onto the page, end your writing with a paragraph like this:
"The unwanted energy I have described will be melted away by my candle. The energy will be goaded and burned by the peppers until it is torn apart. It will be hounded and chased until it flees to the ends of the earth. Let my spell come together unto this purpose: that the unwanted energy I have described here is reduced to carbon, and what cannot be reduced to carbon is burned until it flees, and whatever flees is chased into oblivion and cannot return. As my word, so shall it be - [Your Name]"
Basically, just describe what will happen to the energies you've pinpointed through your writing. Explain what the candle and peppers are supposed to do. Pretend that you're giving instructions to the candle and peppers. Be a good leader and explain to your helpers what they are supposed to do.
2. Place your peppers on the paper. If using peppers suspended in oil, rub the oil all over your pages. Sprinkle powdered pepper onto each page, place whole peppers around the page like a border, whatever you like.
As you do so, invoke and invite the peppers to aid and assist you. Like,
"Peppers, I call on you for your incredible powers at this time: I have described this sort of energy that is around me that I need gone. And I've given clear details about how it should be burned away and sent away. I place you on this page now, because it holds everything you need to know. I'm doing this because I know through your incredible power, my needs will be fulfilled."
3. Anoint the candle with the non-pepper oil (or water). For a taper or votive, start at the base of the candle and draw the oil/water up towards the wick. For a tea light or jar candle, swirl the oil/water counter-clockwise around the top. Say something like,
"Candle, I need you for a task. I've written down this problem I am having. I need you to help me with this. I need you to provide fire and power to this spell, so that the peppers who are helping me have all the energy they need to do their work. And I need you to be the vessel of fire for me, so that my will be done. Work with the peppers, and give them whatever they ask for."
Do not dress the candle with peppers or pepper oil (safety hazard).
Place the candle in a fire-safe container/holder. Place the holder on top of the sheet(s) of paper (you may be more comfortable placing the candle holder in a larger fire-safe dish, and putting that dish on the paper).
4. Pray. It may be a prayer to yourself, or to a god, or your ancestors. Whatever the prayer is, it needs to have a few components. These are: A) asking for aide, B) promising payment, and C) devoting your power to the spell.
Example:
"I pray to my ancestors and the Powers That Be, that you see how I am working on my own behalf today. I pray that you open the gateways that must be opened for my spell to succeed. I pray that you clear the way, so that my work today is not in vain (A). I now make this vow: that the spirits who help me in this operation will not work for free. I dedicate [prepared offering] to the spirits which aid me, especially Pepper. I dedicate this offering to feed the spirits who aid me, so they have enough energy to complete my will (B)."
Now here's where we get to C, because depending on how much power you have, YMMV. Some of us out here cannot devote extra personal energy to spells, and devoting personal power willy-nilly is risky business regardless. So choose your wording carefully.
I sit here before this spell I have prepared. I have brought offerings to pay the spirits, and I have sacrificed my time and energy to prepare the spell. Let my offerings be devoted. Let my power be applied. Let this spell not be an empty vessel, but one overflowing. Let this be a true act of magic, worked through Me, with the aid of benevolent spirits, and those who come because they are paid. (C)
When the time is right, say something like: "As my words, so shall it be."
Light the candle. Set out the offering.
The candle does not need to burn down all at once. You may snuff it out and relight it as you please.
When the spell is complete, tear up the paper(s) and throw them away. You can burn them outside if you like but its not necessary.
Additional candles may be dressed and dedicated to continue the spell once the first one has burned out.
