Norma was always having to clean up her son’s messes. One after the other after the other. Of course, the authorities had every right to be on their tails. He’d killed before, but the only other person who knew about it was Romero, and she was sure he wouldn’t say anything to anyone. He was on their side — the first person that really had been. Quite ironic, really, given his occupation.
Tumblr media
Norma looked Astrid over, her brows slightly raised as she listened. Of course, the female didn’t believe her, or so she thought. Why would she? They’d never spoken before and, as unbiased as a cop should be until they see the evidence, word still spread so easily. And Astrid was only human after all, or so Norma told herself. Everybody makes assumptions and forms opinions based on what they hear, right? “So there was a death across the road from my motel..” She started, the unhappy expression fixed on her face now. “And all because I’ve been in arguments and heated discussions before, and my son has been accused of murdering somebody some months ago..” Norma scoffed with that, needing to take a moment's pause to collect herself. She’d truly become fed up with people and how vindictive some of them could be. But who was she kidding? Not all messes could be wiped entirely clean and kept undetected. “Doesn’t mean that everything that has happened within a particular radius of our motel is either of our doing.” She stated firmly, both hands balling up into fists as she tried to hold back both her anger and sadness. The last thing she wanted to be was vulnerable in front of a cop, but if her anger spilled over she knew that wouldn’t look good either. No matter how fed up or tired she truly was. / @percxptions.
Astrid watched the other woman, watched the frown appear on otherwise gentle features, and watched while silence momentarily filled the space between them. She hadn't approached Norma for no reason, of course she hadn't. So much shit happened in this town, and somehow, the Bates family was always right there. Maybe it meant nothing at all - maybe it just meant this was a small community where everyone seemingly got dragged into everything - but maybe it meant something, and Astrid couldn't just dismiss that.
Tumblr media
She slid her hands into her jean pockets, body language remaining fairly open: the complete opposite of Norma's crossed arms. As the woman finished speaking, Astrid shrugged her shoulders ever so slightly. "Well then, why don't you set the record straight?" In all honesty, she was all the more intrigued now. 'Always' - that word. The acknowledgement that it wasn't the first time something like this had happened, maybe? God, she was a bloodhound. The second she got the faintest scent of something, anything, she was on it. "I'm a good listener."

as she sat in her recliner chair, laurie listened to the voicemail play out loud after a few minutes of the phone ringing out. at that particular moment, she'd been too busy reading one of the pieces of mail that had particularly caught her attention — two people wanted to interview her for their podcast. she got a decent amount of requests similar to this, but generally declined unless the person caught her interest or she somehow sensed that they were more genuine than the rest and not just looking for a quick cash grab. a story to fill the space as one might say.
as she continued through her mail — most of it just a bunch of junk — laurie pondered on the request in the meantime. at least until she heard the front door open, her mind immediately put at ease when john announced his arrival. since he’d invited himself in and made himself known, laurie stayed in her seat, placing the envelopes and paper down beside her before resting both forearms on the arms of the chair, "hello, john. finally decided to come visit my neck of the woods? i'd almost thought you'd forgotten about me.." should she really be the one to talk? communication worked both ways, and laurie had been doing no better in that regard. perhaps the feeling that she’d failed as a mother had particularly started to sink in over the last few years, somehow only making her want to distance herself even more. it could've been that mixed with this sense that she often got, one in which she felt that her children didn't want to be in her presence. thinking about it often made the blonde upset, but deep down she understood the reasons as to why they were such way.
eyes glancing toward the fruit basket in hand, she soon offered a quick nod in the direction of the coffee table, "thank you. just place it down there." / @vntagetee.

@percxptions said : "you’re only making this worse for yourself ."
Tumblr media
a frown pressed itself to norma's features. somehow those exact words hit a dangerous nerve within the blonde. what did astrid know when it came to what was better or worse for her? norma imagined the words that went around town about her would've caused the other to form her own opinions on the motel owner. though really, most of — if not all — the talk that'd been spread about her was a load of bullshit. yet, norma always found herself having to step up and defend both her and her son. in fact, it'd been this way for most of her life. nobody else was going to do it, and why should they? out of kindness? the goodness of their own hearts? as the years went by, norma would come to find that not many actually possessed a genuinely good heart. it was really a dog eat dog world out there, and as much as she wanted a fresh start here in this town, it seemed that trouble soon followed behind in some shape or form. the predicament she'd gotten herself in right now was proof of that. and sure, she would persevere like she always had, but by god she was growing tired. incident after incident, it seemed a piece of her sanity was taken each time.
arms crossing over her chest as she stared intently at the other woman, norma tried with all her might to just let it go. to not let words that really weren't that deep affect her. "I'm sorry, but you don't know the first thing about me or what I've done." she leaned herself into the doorframe, trying and so far succeeding to keep a calm demeanour despite everything. "why is it that people always run with the first thing they hear? I'm getting damn tired of it."

"No.. that has nothing to do with it. I'm sure you're a nice person." She gripped tight at her handbag, wanting to reach in and grab something to protect herself in case he did try to hurt her or force her. “I do have a husband at home and he won’t be happy if he knows what’s going on here.” Sure, she wanted love and to be loved in return. To come home to somebody, to feel wanted by a person. Kate really missed that. But with him? He was coming on far too strong too soon, and it worried her greatly. As it might with anybody, really. The man must’ve been desperate if after laying eyes on here he already felt the need to say these things.
Tumblr media
“You don’t even know me. How could you possibly say you want to be with me?” She frowned slightly, wanting to understand. To know what was really going through his mind.
Tumblr media
he wanted her and he loved her. But love was something that was dangerous and Nate felt like he could just be with her and take care of her. But it was scary because she didn't want him and he never felt rejection before until now and he looked around and he took a deep breath knowing that love was a lie and he didn't think that it would be when it came to them and what he wanted now." Will you be my friend? I don't have anyone and I could use a friend or a love . But I know you don't want me .who would? I'm a freak " he looked down and he was sure that she thought that he was crazy and he was locked up for acting out but he got out and he's better or is he ?
Tumblr media
he looked at her and he had tears in his eyes wanting to be with her and to have someone love him and just know he's not a bad person like his family always said he was and he put his hand onto his face and he wiped away his tears and he heard what she said and it hurt so much. " Is it because I was locked away in a hospital? Please be my friend and don't go home I know you ate lying the voices told me everything I need to know .please come with me I need you to" his voice was low and filled with calm as he looked at ger knowing that love was something and he just wanted to be happy and not have to be so alone . It was too much for him and love was dangerous and so was he..

@cosmicacy asked : ❝ why won’t you let me help you? ❞ (from love for norma)
Tumblr media
It’d always been just Norma and her youngest boy. Everyone else always fled, turned out to be an absolute asshole, or wanted something in return for small gestures. She got used to no longer asking for help. If anybody knew enough about her life — and that was hard given that she let virtually nobody (aside from her son) into her world — they’d soon realise why Norma Bates stopped reaching out for help a long time ago. She was a fiercely independent woman thanks to her past and to so many lousy people.
Tumblr media
The blonde offered a gentle shrug of her shoulders as she kept her eyes glued to the mug sat before her, “I don’t really need the help. So why ask for it?” She questioned, head tilting to one side.

Constantine's brow rose with curiosity, his body resting into the chair he was sat on. He, too, certainly had some kind of idea. Though, he didn't often dive too deeply into that topic with people. Not unless it was particularly gnawing at him, and today it really had been.
"Oh? And what exactly is that idea?" The demonologist asked inquisitively, head slightly tilted to one side as he looked the male over. Everyone had their own ideas and perceptions, and Constantine couldn't help wanting to know and understand Isaiah's.

Her hands twisted together in front of her body as face gave way to a grimace that showed discomfort, “I don’t know the kinds of bugs and creepy crawlies that have collected down there … Not to mention the build up of dust. It has to be some kind of health hazard.” Norma responded softly, her body leaning into the doorframe. She'd avoided this motel room for the longest of times ... clearly. But something had to be done about it eventually, and that time was now. Apparently. All the other rooms were full, and this man needed a place to stay. "But you didn't hear that from me.."

Michael Myers is a human being who killed his sister when he was six years old. Then he came after you. We just want to know why. We want a glimpse inside his mind. That’s why your story’s so important. […] Two failed marriages. Rocky relationship with your daughter and granddaughter.

@vntagetee said : " i didn’t think you had it in you ." / from nancy to carrie.
Tumblr media
Carrie gave a gentle shrug of her shoulders, her eyes averting downward to look at the ground. Somehow she didn't think she had it in her, either. But one could only take so much before one had finally had enough of the bullying and torment. She wasn't about to let these girls cause her to spiral downward, to feel sorry for herself and come home every day to the confines of her four bedroom walls to sulk. What good was that doing?
"I did what I had to," She responded softly as fingers pushed strawberry blonde locks away from her face in a manner that could only be observed as shy. It was strange, really. How she went right back to being withdrawn, at least with those whose company she preferred. No doubt a flip had certainly been switched on within her, though. She knew that should anybody treat her unjustly, she wouldn't hesitate to shut them down from this moment forward. "You know, I started to figure that if I let them get away with treating me awfully, they'll think they can do it with just about anybody."

@greatcstarcher said : "just listen to me for once!"

"Listen to you? Kate, you're the one that needs to listen to me. I can't even count the number of times you've run off behind my back and gone against your word." She responded, a hint of hurt evident in the brunette's tone. As visible as it may have been in her voice, Eleanor tilted her head downward so as to keep her sad expressions and the visible pain to herself. These days, she found it easier to bottle up those emotions. Though she still expressed her concerns verbally, oftentimes they were delivered with either concern and disapproval or little sympathy. "You worry me sick sometimes, you know."

I get so :( when people are worried they're adding too many muses or already have too many muses. It's your blog and there's nothing wrong with loving lots of characters! Variety is good, it's fun. It keeps things interesting. Never apologise for these things. 💗
