Hey guys so my sister, Donna, has 3 little girls. Addyson, who is 8 and Violet and Scarlet who are 3 year old twins. Obviously they have been hit hard by the shitstain that is 2020 and with covid, my sister and her fiancé’s finances took a big hit which is terrible timing since they finally had just moved into a new wee house with a mortgage and everything. They have been struggling to pay the mortgage, utilities, and have been unable to get any Christmas gifts for the kids thus far. Even worse is they still cannot qualify for or get food stamps or assistance other than Medicaid for the children. Addison is also having medical issues that doctors are having a hard time figuring out. Her eye is messed up and goes cross eyed all day and she gets headaches. They did a spinal tap and it turned out her spinal fluid pressure was high so they put her on a medication that’s $70 a month but her eye is still crossed inwards so they are about to go back to trying to figure out what it is but the docs say we might be doing surgery soon regardless of what caused it. So that’s an added stress. Essentially we were just hoping to raise a couple hundred dollars or so just to be able to buy the kids some Christmas gifts and to help maybe pay a utility bill or buy groceries. A black girl will be spending years in jail because she had a mental health crisis. PLEASE READ

Meet Sarya: she was experiencing a mental health crisis. Police came and tackled her. She is 15.

Saraya Rees is a 15 year old biracial girl from Coos County, Oregon. After being abruptly instructed to stop taking her antidepressants by a local pediatrician, Saraya went into psychosis. In her manic state, Saraya poured a small amount of gasoline on the floor. Her parents called Coos Health & Wellness in hope that that would send mental health advisors, Coos Health & Wellness sent the police. While still in psychosis, the officers arrested her, questioned her without her family or lawyers present, charged with attempted murder and assault, and sent her to juvenile prison for 11 years.

This is not justice.

This is inhumane.

WHAT YOU CAN DO TO HELP:

Call these people and demand that she be let go to the custody in her parents.

On May 6, 2020, IMPD officer Dejoure Mercer fatally shot 21 year old Dreasjon Reed while he was running away. Reed's only "crime" was speeding on the fucking highway. Despite there being video of the murder both from Reed's own Facebook live and a nearby security camera along with eyewitness testimony, the grand jury decided that there was not enough evidence to charge the cop responsible with murder.
