Gisborne
(round trip a year ago) We stayed at the top 10 campsite, that was perfect for one night, so we could visit the city, walked over the railway bridge for wine tasting etc. etc. We have been there several times and never met anybody. When it rains, which unfortunately sometimes happens in "sunny Gizzy", the Eastcoast Museum of Technology is a sensation in itself. Normally I'm not a fan of New Zealand museums (spoiled Europeans), but this one is a must see. Everything is exhibited here, from old cars, old trucks, to old household appliances, construction machinery, medical equipment, old buildings and so much more.
