We have a theory
My friend and I are curious about why Jack was always the character getting hurt
suffering from physical or mental pain
and even being killed in many fans' fiction.
(All right, I know he was not dead in this picture, just had a headache and needed some comfort)
And we have a theory.
Because...
That is some form of love, the evidence that we all love Jack Robinson. Actually, I do recall Jack has been temporary can't walk, talk, or lose his dormitory by an arson and murder case in my works.
Tough loves ;)
(Don't worry. Wardlow became his guest house when Jack lost his place, and phrack had some progress)

The heart line never lies
OH, REALLY? WHEN AND WHERE? :)
I don't think Jack Robinson is the only person being afraid of pursuing true love of life. But the way Phryne coped with Angela's provocation was so cute and emulative. Smells of jealousy were flying in the air everywhere while she asked Jack about that.
(Or in Chinese, we say "smells of vinegar", meaning jealousy is sour)

If you let me rewrite the lines
Jack: I didn't kiss you. I was trying to protect you. As a police officer.
Phryne: All in the line of duty? If it was Aunt Prudence beside you?
Jack: Uh...I am not sure Mrs. Stanley needed my serves ...
Phryne: Or Dot?
Jack: On the cheeks, maybe?
Phryne: Hugh?
Jack: (choked)
Phryne: Cec and Bert?
Jack: Miss Fisher!
Phryne: Jack, you kissed me. Let's call a spade a spade.
Jack: You kissed me back.

The area between glove and cuff is really delectable.
However, gloved Jack was rare present in s2 & s3. And I always wondering that did Phryne stole his gloves? Because that was my intent to…

"You assaulted me. Not your father or his nerve tonic. It was you." He said. "You had no excuses. "
"Yes." She leaned to kiss him, with a naughty smile. "Did you like it?"

Just curious

Where is your suit jacket, Jack? :D
And, since the pendant was not stolen. Why did you not stop Phryne from chasing that suspicious man?
(although I am not complaining of this romantic moment)

Always can find many fun as re-watching, for example
Jack consistently had feelings for that kind of ladies who sat on his desk
or put her hands on his chest

it's obvious that Jack didn't wear an undershirt under his shirt before the quicksand scene. Understandable, too hot to wear multi-layer in the desert.
At the quicksand scene, Jack used his shirt as a rope to save Phryne's life, even there was an umbrella over there.
After that, somehow, he wore one.
When this adventure was almost over, he stayed in the desert with Phryne, just two of them and camels under the beautiful starry night. We don't know why (or maybe we DO know why), but he took off his undershirt again.
It's really a mystery, right? :)

He knew her action was intentional, but he couldn't resist Phryne Fisher even if he tried.
The pendant pulled out of her chest still had her fragrance and warmth. He turned his head for avoiding see anything he shouldn't see in the public area. However, he can't fool anyone including himself that he was too familiar with the shape covered by her beautiful dress.
She touched him with the pendant by the way she kissed him. The first dot is the cheeks, neck, chin, and then the throat knot. His skin still remembers the soft touch of her lips as they were pressed on it, and the heat generated from the inside of his body when she approached.
He was not ready to forgive her, even if his body had honestly responded to her touch. There was no reason why he deserves the suffering and sorrow of the past six weeks, but she is easily forgiven by being cuddly. He frowned and kept a straight face on her as if he really wanted to tie her up and throw her into the river. But he knew he had lost from the moment that her eyes were full of joy by seeing him again.

A Phrack Meta
Okay, so I have some thoughts about a certain Miss Phryne Fisher and Detective Inspector Jack Robinson, so I'll just leave this here.
Crypt of Tears looked at two of the main roadblocks that used to be in the way of Phryne and Jack's relationship in mfmm:
Jack's jealousy: Phryne has married a maharajah, and Jack feels hurt because she told him before that she wasn't the marrying type. This is resolved when Phryne finally explains that it was necessary to save the maharajah's life.
Phryne's recklessness: Oof. Jack went 6 weeks thinking Phryne was dead, which is... pretty bad. Phryne usually flings herself into danger and Jack tries to pull her back. It seems like Phryne starts making a point of asking Jack for help instead of trying to manage alone (she asks him to go to the church with her; to help her out of the quicksand; and to kill the "tarantula").
The main issue in their relationship has always been communication, though. They can banter and insinuate like no other ship, but they never used to state their feelings or needs outright. This actually leads to the other issues they have.
They usually understand each other so well, which leads to Phryne doing things in "blind faith" and expecting Jack to understand.
The fact that they've never clearly defined their relationship leads to Jack's jealousy (and the great scene where he's drunk in s3). It also causes Phryne be reluctant of explaining herself to Jack or asking for his help, because she is scared that that would imply that she's surrendering some of her self-suffeciency.
This is all resolved in the final scene.
Their confessions in s3 ep8 had been romantic, but pretty vague. "More like a romantic overture" and "Come after me, Jack Robinson" were great, but when we look at the movie, it didn't appear to have cleared anything up. However, their confessions in this movie finally smooth things over. Jack makes it clear that he doesn't expect her to marry him, that all he wants is her heart and that she has his. Phryne tells him that he has her heart as well. They've finally defined where they stand and what they expect of each other.
And all is well ;)

I finally found some way to watch Miss Fisher and the Crypt of Tears on Acorn TV. The movie is fantastic for fans!!! Many interactions between Phryne and Jack actually remind me specific scenes in series, for example, Concetta had said that Jack’s heart is taken. We all know it’s taken by a beautiful, brave, and adventurous woman, and we finally can confirm that by himself
