I think it’s neat how there are so many knights that are just colors. Like the Black Knight, Green Knight, Red Knight (1-7(I actually don’t know how many red knights there are but it seems like more than it should be)), White Knight, then there’s also the Indigo Knight (jazzing it up a bit) and the Puce Knight. Which means it’s entirely possible that one could infer that there are more colors of knights.
Therefore I now want a story with like a Tangerine Knight.
Obviously the color assigned to a knight is just the color of their surcoat which ties to their noble house/where they came from/who they served/any other reason. But I feel like we’re missing some untapped potential in the mystery of a nameless knight but with a super specific color scheme.
“Ah my foe the Pantone™ Whispering Blue Knight. No one knows his name but his skill with a blade is unmatched, plus we have no idea how he managed to get such a shade of blue in 500AD Wales.”
You have to understand the self-awareness of the joke, because this is from a 400-pages book by a German Scholar that is very much "Das Konzept der Europäische Gesellschaft (The Concept of European Society) and the guy has not talked to anyone flesh and bone person for that.
i do not have reasoning i just want to see the arthurian knights as coworkers in a grocery store bc i think lancelot n gawain would murder each other over the correct way to stock the shelves
thank god chretien de troyes died eight hundred years ago so i dont have to see his dumb ass opinions on twitter. there are many benefits to being a med lit fan
genuinely cannot emphasize enough that the damsel in distress archetype really does not exist in medieval literature the way people think it does. these ladies are really only in distress because they can’t find a knight willing to enact bloodshed for them. if anything these damsels are causing the distress
It somehow just dawned on me that video calls didn’t exist in the 1960’s and the that the transmissions they were showing in TOS would have been revolutionary, ‘cause whenever they have to videochat with admirals or whatever I’ve always just been like “Kirk ‘n the boyz on Zoom again”
