Up until a few years ago Cytech Labs were known primarily for their manufacture of simple pharmaceuticals. Since young Mercury’s takeover of his late father’s position as head of the Ryukyu family and CEO of parent company RyCorp. Industries, however, their reputation has become bloated with reports of forays into the experimental and dubiously legal.
Chief among these rumours is of Mercury’s obsession with perfecting the art of cloning, though he hardly seems to care for keeping the project a secret. A recent addition to his already impressive suite of corporate powers is the ability of cytokinesis; at will, he can perform rapid splitting of his own cells, and create perfect replicas of his body parts and organs.

The pursuit of the mysterious thief leads Ioh to Cytech Laboratories, a genetics lab in the center of Tin City. Even more surprising are the other characters whose journeys have led them to the exact same location; Venus, in pursuit of a mysterious new group of mercenaries, and Mars, whose whereabouts have been totally unknown to either of the others until now.
Reunited by pure coincidence, Team Swordheart set out to get to the bottom of Cytech Laboratories, and their involvement in this seemingly unrelated recent string of crimes.

Hearing reports of a group of mysterious mercenaries taking advantage of remote islands and oppressing locals, Venus' travels take her to Melon Island. Arriving just in time to follow the commander back to their headquarters, she stows away on a ship bound for Tin City to investigate.

CHAPTER 1 CONCLUSION!

EPISODE V:
A strange reaction begins between the gathered Sea Stars and the mysterious ring on Ioh's left hand; but before he can figure out what's going on the gems are snatched from his grasp. Biologist Helen Saline has been lying in wait for someone else to bring the three Stars together and has arrived on the scene in a vehicle purpose-built to harness the power of all three at once.
EPISODE VI:
Channeling the power of the Sea Stars through her vehicle, Professor Saline takes on a new form; Sea Saline, a fount of nearly endless magical power. Through monologue she reveals her plan to Ioh and his new friends: with the power of the Stars she'll evolve the people of their world into what she sees as their ideal, perfect form - homo sapiens. When the trio try to stop her, she begins to pluck fish from the surrounding sea, and magically accelerates their evolution into minions ready to defend her from interlopers.
EPISODE VIII: (EPILOGUE)
Once again, Ioh's combined strength with Venus and Mars allows the three to overcome a seemingly insurmountable foe. But upon Saline's defeat the three Sea Stars scatter to the sky, and the Professor flees, tail between the legs of her damaged craft.
With his initial quest back at before square one, Ioh decides to explore the nature of the mysterious magical ring he can always remember having on his left hand.
Venus decides to continue the momentum of the Urchin King's defeat, and sets off to help liberate more people in peril around the world.
With nothing left to guard, Mars sets off on a journey of his own, but tells nobody where he intends to go.

A skilled magician in his own right, the Urchin King's mastery over the final Sea Star proves a worthy match for Ioh's power. But with the cooperation of his new friends Mars is finally able to topple his tyrannical uncle, and Ioh reunites the three sapphires.

Following the power of the first Sea Star leads Ioh and Venus to a remote reef where the second Star is located, under the strict guardianship of Mars, a sea urchin. Mars refuses to give up the sapphire without a fight, but the porcupine and the bandicoot's combined strength is eventually enough to overcome him.

Ioh's search for the legendary Sea Stars takes him to the mythical Elixir Island, where one of the powerful sapphires has become submerged in the island's magical Forever Lake. Conflict arises when Venus, a bandicoot knight who lives on the island, mistakes Ioh for a malevolent invader, but the two of them make amends and search for the Sea Star together.
With one gem collected, Venus joins Ioh on his quest for the other two.
