if you’re writing a modern AU baldur’s gate fic that’s great but I think Lae’zel should just be 100% the same.

make everyone else humans and give them careers or whatever but Lae’zel should still be an alien from another plane who grew up on a comet. throwaway line about some magic she can use to disguise herself.

ideallya single character will be onto her and descending into madness while they figure this out as a B-Plot to whatever the fic’s actually about

or the characters know but they’re cool with it and it doesn’t matter to the plot whatsoever.

“submissive heal slut” is a weird and disingenuous stereotype of people who heal in video games and so is “don’t mess with the healer because they’re jaded and so done with you and will withhold heals”. that’s all bullshit. you heal for the quiet reassurance that you’re better than everybody else and nothing bad that happens is ever your fault
