Xavier had his order in his hand and had settled down at a small table, but about five minutes after sitting down, he started patting down his pockets. He couldn't figure out where his wallet had gone. After a few more moments, he stood up to look in the cushions of the seat when he felt someone tap him from behind. When he turned around he saw none other than Gaia offering him the item he was moments away from frantically looking for. Xavier took the wallet with a smile although confusion was written on his features. He didn't remember leaving the wallet on the counter. "Hey Gaia. Thanks for this. You saved me from looking like a spaz. Um, would you like to sit?"

When Cole opened the door to find Persephone, he couldn't help but smile despite the stressful situations he'd been in since arriving back in Hollywood. "It's a club I never thought I'd be a part of, but it's good that one of my oldest friends can relate I guess." Of course he'd rather neither of them have experience in that department, but it was part of the deal with Hollywood. When they were young, they'd gotten into their own fair share of crap. "Come in, P. You know I'd never turn you away. Although, if you had told me two decades ago that being around you, Julian, and Diamond would be more natural than Jordana, I don't think I would have believed you." Actually, he was positive he wouldn't have. He was a boy in love for the first time, and he'd done everything he could to try and make it his last. It was foolish naivety for sure. When he spotted his emotional support dog Shadow approaching Persephone, he smiled at the German Shepard. "You aren't allergic right? He's just here to help me out on days my nerves are more frayed than usual. I haven't had a flashback in a long time unless fireworks are involved." A car backfiring can do it too, but that's not a usual occurrence.

once upon a time, it had been her, julian, cole and jordana against the world. just a bunch of famous kids, way in over their heads, who had no idea how hard life was going to be. and despite cole falling off the grid for decades, he had once upon a time, been a wonderful friend, and that wasn’t something persephone could forget. and with everything going on with maiya, plus assimilating back into this world, she couldn’t imagine how stressed the man must’ve felt. so, she decided to pay him a visit, check in with him and see what was going on in his head, to be a friend if he needed a shoulder to lean on. knocking at the door, soft smile is spread across lips as he answered. “i supposed i’d stop by and cordially invite you to parents who have or have had kids in rehab club. too soon?” she said with a scrunch of her nose. “well, i just know that i’ll cry if i don’t laugh about it, so i go for the latter.” she said, shaking her head at herself and her dumb early attempt at lightening the mood. “i just…wanted to stop by in case you need a friend. if not, feel free to tell me and my shitty jokes to get the hell out of here.”

The man narrowed his eyes at her words to give him the most unimpressed glare that he could muster. While he knew how important his children were, the one thing he wouldn't tolerate was Florence thinking she was lower on some unseen totem pole. He'd taken the responsibility of being the adult in her life, and that was something he took seriously. "I may not have been there when you were born, but you're my kid. I adopted you a long time ago. Papers wouldn't change a damn thing about it, but if you want me to draw some up, I totally will." He'd have a hell of a lot of fun with it too. "How are you and Ace doing? You two looked great together at the ball. Just know, that if a wedding is approaching anytime soon I'm ready for my duties. Your mom can go to hell. I'll weep like a baby for you at dress fittings."

the  met  gala  was  a  blur  ,  no  real  memory  of  the  night.  another  potential  health  emergency  was  where  the  night  was  remembered  from  ,  ace  forfeiting  his  position  to  remain  with  his  boys  in  favour  of  coming  to  her  rescue.  a  true  knight  in  shining  armour.  a  lot  had  happened  in  both  of  their  lives  from  then  on  ,  florence  feeling  somewhat  responsible  for  maiya's  current  place  of  residence  after  their  major  blowup.  "  it's  okay  ,  i  understand  they're  more  important  than  i  am.  "  she  teases  ,  features  contorting  in  feigned  heartbreak  ,  as  a  hand  lays  on  the  centre  of  her  chest.  "  nothing  very  exciting  has  happened  ,  you've  not  missed  much.  "

Things had been far from great for Xavier, and he was struggling to keep the world from seeing that the longer time passed. He was exhausted, dealing with migraines pretty constantly, and just overall not liking the direction his life was heading towards. The problem was that he didn't exactly know what to do. A part of him knew it could be easy to just tell his father what he wanted and pursue medicine, but something felt off about the whole thing. Still, last thing he wanted to do was worry Maiya with his problems, so he put on his goofy smile and shook his head so fast his long blonde tresses shook from side to side. "Why would I ever do that? You're one of the strongest and slightly terrifying women I know," he replies back with affection lacing his tone. "I'm happy to have you back around these parts. So, when can I come into the recording studio with you? I'll bring snacks."

"and we both know i can, so don't even test me." settling back into normal life had been hard, because nothing felt normal anymore. and maiya was trying to figure out who she was without a destructive path. but one thing she could do was kick her brother's best friend's ass.

To say that Cole was relieved to have his daughter back and out of rehab would be an understatement. While he was happy she was receiving the help she needed, the man had missed her rambunctious personality being around. "It's to the right if you're looking at a map," he said with a light laugh. "My family up and moved to Colorado after I enlisted. Hollywood and California in general is not really their thing." As soon as Cole had graduated, his mom was free to leave the state she'd gotten bogged down into because of her ex husband. The only reason she'd even stayed that long was because she didn't want to uproot her kids from their schools and friends. "My family will be insanely excited, and that's probably downplaying it. They've asked about you at least once every two days since the accident."

"wait where are you from again? is it up or down?" she wasn't sure she'd make an amazing first impression on them, considering what she'd just done. but she had to rip the bandaid off sometime. and nothing could be worse than her mother's side of the family.

The meeting made Lia more nervous than it probably should be, but the last times the two had talked hadn't exactly gone well. Still, the medical resident knew that the woman needed support. So, she'd arranged for them to meet on the beach because it would give them privacy to talk while also keeping them away from either of their respective places. Lia had gotten there early to lay down a blanket, have her cooler, and just lounge by the sun while reading up on medical practices. When she heard the other woman speak, she looked up and gave her a smile. "No worries," she reassured honestly. "I've just been relaxing and catching up on stuff. Firstly, I need to say, congratulations! I saw that you're releasing your own music, and I seriously couldn't be more proud of you." Lia didn't want to just focus on the rehab stuff because that was just overwhelming and something she knew Maiya would mention if she wanted to.

in all honesty, maiya was kind of unsure why on earth she'd decided to meet lia. she supposed she felt she owed it to her somehow. but then she wasn't sure if it was truly the right decision to make. but it was made now, and here she was. "hey, sorry i'm late. i just have multiple people freaking out whenever i leave the house lately." not that she could blame them, she'd screwed it up.
