In the last week's blog, I mainly summarized the content of this semester, problems, and my solution process. In this semester, I mainly learned the matching and handling of different musical instruments. Including whether the music has achieved the desired effect. Has it reached an exhilarating atmosphere? Of course, during this period, I also encountered many problems. Darrin also patiently told me the problem. For example, the connection between different music has always been my main problem. I also take this issue very seriously. First, go to research knowledge about the remix, reference materials so that you have a better understanding of how to connect better. I constantly try to match different instruments, and I also learned how to compare different instruments.

The second is that the entire music must have ups and downs, and the transition between high and low also needs to be tried repeatedly. Only in this way can the required range be reached.

In this project, I also knew my shortcomings and experienced a lot. The handling of music is not adequate and not careful enough, and I am also unskilled in sound remixing. This project is also growing in constant modification. In this way, I have accumulated experience and learned lessons for my next project to ensure that this error will not appear in the next project. I am also very grateful to my partner Simone, who works very actively and will help me when I encounter problems.

This week I also saw the works of many students, all of which were very amazing. The most basic requirement of this project is that you cannot deviate from the word you choose. So I think everyone revolves around the words they choose, so the final effect is also good. And I also learned something. Weekly 12 Bolg

On week 12, my team member and I made an appointment with Darrin and got relevant feedback. In the meeting, Darrin gave me a lot of helpful feedback. He suggested that I don't need to quit slowly in the first part of the music, but I can disappear between attempts, giving the audience a clear contrast and increasing the music's effect and atmosphere. And in the middle part, there is a messy place, and I also modified it. After the modification, it sounds a lot better than before. Then the third point is in the third part. Darrin suggested that I add a few moments, insert Chinese percussion to match so that it echoes back and forth, and show the combination of Chinese and Western instruments. Show different characteristics, let the audience feel the feeling of exhilarating in a different atmosphere. The theme chosen at that time was the collision and contrast between Chinese and Western instruments. The timbre of the front and back may be different, but it can also better reflect the unique charm of Chinese and Western instruments.

I spent a lot of time on research and production in this project, and I also made repeated attempts and constant revisions. Because I could not go to the Capitol site, I regret that I could not experience the place. That kind of atmosphere.

In week 11 of the process, it can be regarded as the final stage of the entire project, mainly focusing on handling details. Through communicating with the teacher, we can obtain periodic feedback and prepare for the final presentation. In the sound processing, I re-adjusted the audio connection problem this week. Because our theme combines Chinese and Western musical instruments, it may sound like a different style before and after. This is a bold attempt by us, and it can also reflect the difference between Chinese and Western musical instruments. After the first half of the Chinese musical instruments, I used brass as the transitional sound because brass is a Western instrument, but it is the same as the Chinese flute. The sound will not be too prominent, which plays a very good transitional role. Later began to gradually enter the violin, which connected the past and the next. The timbre of different instruments was also investigated. The major progress this week is to make the whole song complete. Some details have also been dealt with, and the connection problem has also been greatly improved from last week. I made an appointment with Darrin for feedback this Thursday, and Darrin also gave me a lot of critical feedback. Because it combines Chinese and Western instruments, the overall sound will be different before and after. This can also reflect the characteristics of Chinese and Western musical instruments. Darrin told me that the first part of the whole song needs to be extended a bit to make it more prosperous so that the relaxation of the middle portion will not appear too long, the average duration. There is also a need for more coordination in the connection of the violin in the back.

In fact, the idea of ​​the entire project was the display of Chinese and Western musical instruments, and the differences between them were also shown through comparison. There are differences in coordination throughout the song, and it is also a bolder attempt.

On this issue, I have been researching and constantly making adjustments. The reverberation of the sound is to mix audio with a similar melody to enrich the sense of hierarchy and increase space. I got a lot of feedback during the Milestone Presentation this week. Darrin told me that my current problem is that the music is not connected, just like a piece of work. The overall feeling is incomplete, uncoordinated, like paragraph after paragraph. This is currently the most important question for me. Avoid the problem of errors in the final presentation.

For this obvious error problem, I conducted research. Research on how to remix a song. First, you must clarify your theme, choose the appropriate one, and obtain copyright approval. Then to listen to the gap, you can replace the existing melody with a unique melody. Write down what you think of and take notes. The second is to tailor the material to determine which parts of the original track I want and can use. Process the material and respect the original track and its content, which will make it easier to remix. And the mix doesn’t have to be an incredible contrast with the original. Sometimes you just want to add some extra content to the original content or expand your ideas. Part of the original audio track can be used for processing. You can also add your ideas for mixing. In week8, the main thing is to check the progress of the project and get feedback. This Tuesday, my partner and I shared the progress of one-third of the project completed with Darrin and Shaun. Darrin told me that in audio because the word I chose was exhilarating, it was necessary to reach the climax of exhilarating, set off the atmosphere, and have a sense of ups and downs. Because the total duration of our project is about 4 minutes, four minutes cannot be a climax. If there are ups and downs, you can insert the audio at the transition point in the ending. This makes the entire project more prosperous and more layered. There is also the detail processing of sound, including details such as sound quality and rhythm. This will better match the lighting and make the visual effect better. The most important thing is the connection and processing of audio, which makes the entire audio more complete.

In the project's progress this week, I added a smooth transition from flute to the violin after the end of the first section. In the third section, the violin will be the main focus to reach the climax because the main idea was the combination of Chinese and Western musical instruments. While understanding the charm of Chinese musical instruments, I also learned about Western musical instruments. The main content of the two classes this week is the progress of your project. First of all, for the sound production, I first produced about 30 seconds of audio and sent it to Darrin, and he also gave me some feedback. For audio, including during production, it takes time to conduct research, including the processing of different sounds and sound quality. I will also research a lot of music about exhilarating to understand better how to achieve the exhilarating atmosphere and give people a better sensory experience.

I have done a lot of research in the musical instruments and music library because my sound uses a lot of Chinese musical instruments, so I found a lot of resources and research on the Chinese website. And also understand the culture of Chinese traditional music, which represents the development trend of a country. I learned how to show an exhilarating atmosphere and how to make my music thick instead of sounding thin. Including the superposition between different audio, cohesion processing, and adding orchestral music to traditional Chinese musical instruments is also worth researching. After understanding in detail, I will know more about how to add and make.

For the process of the project, the Chinese drum was used as the beginning of the music, which exaggerated the whole momentum. The flute at the back is connected to the back of the drum through the technique from far to near and gradually reaches the climax of the first part, with the guqin and other instruments in the middle, which enriches the whole music. In dealing with the connection, I use a weakened way to connect so that it doesn't sound abrupt and uncoordinated. It will also deal with details such as sound processing and noise reduction. Make repeated adjustments to achieve an exhilarating atmosphere.I will use Audition and Ableton software at the same time; in Ableton, I will use its drum beats, including rhythm adjustment. This week, Shaun and Darrin introduced the things to pay attention to in the project, and the items to be built, such as the use of timetable and schedule, will help me understand the mechanism more deeply. During this week, my partner Simone and I had a long discussion and research to clarify the tone of the whole song. Here, we have carried out a lot of research. For the study of Chinese music and musical instruments, we analyzed the differences between Chinese musical instruments and Western musical instruments and the characteristics of Western classical music. Western music primarily uses orchestral instruments, and the cello is used as the main background music to drive the overall atmosphere and enhance the tone. Other musical instruments are added to enrich the tunes.

This week, I completed the Project Proposal Presentation of AT2. For this presentation, it is to have a deeper understanding of the words you have chosen, make you more clear about your ideas through your research, and get help from it. In this presentation, Darrin gave me many suggestions because my partner and I chose the Capitol Theatre, so the requirements for vision and hearing are very high. I think this is a big deal for us. Challenge. The challenge for me is how to achieve the exhilarating atmosphere of the sound and the combination of some instrumental music, which sounds harmonious. And how to make the whole sound is very rich, and there is a sense of space. I completed the personal presentation of At1 this week. For the presentation, Darrin gave me some feedback, mainly telling me that some of my examples are not able to show the meaning of the word uncanny. The level of expression is not deep enough. Darrin also told me how to understand the word and how to do more research.

Maybe my understanding of art and the word is not deep enough. And during the discussion with Darrin, I told Darrin about the project. Through the feedback he gave, I will re-examine this issue. I pay more attention to the use of Black Box.

I think Black Box is more focused on sound requirements because Black Box is a powerful technology to check the application under test from the user's point of view. In the academic research on music (sound), I found the content about music in the RMIT Library. Music (sound) plays a very important role in our lives. Even in this limited context, music is recognized as having significant social effect largely through its powers to modulate emotion. Even sometimes music drive people's emotions, thrilling music makes you feel scared; cheerful music makes you feel happy and relaxed; sad music makes you feel sad and frustrated, and so on. Music has been shown to exert a powerful influence in areas as disparate as the formation of a sense of self-identity, or the experience of narrative multimedia. (Lan Cross 2016). And in further investigation, I found that colour music will also bring people a different auditory experience. For example, In a study by Palmer et al. Everyone’s personal presentation was conducted this week, and Shaun and Darrin gave different feedbacks. I also conducted an offline visit to learn about Lighting systems such as Capitol Theatre and Black Box and learned more about professional-related knowledge. I think that in the Capitol Theatre, I saw the perfect combination of hearing and vision, which shocked me very much. Different visual effects are displayed in the form of lighting performances, and the overall effect will be more set off in the auditory sense. After reading Capitol, it gave me a lot of inspiration. I also communicated with my partners and expressed their ideas. I think that in Capitol, the visual effects are the mainstay, and the auditory effects are supplemented. In BlackBox, I learned how the sound is displayed. There is a great shock to the ears. Because I think that in the Black Box, the auditory effect is the main and the visual effect is supplemented.
