the FCC restoring net neutrality as if anyone had noticed the difference just to keep FISA out of internet-related headlines I see you you fucking villains
Maybe this is just me but I am really surprised that 2023 was the first time a lot of people heard about Palestine because 2021 was when settlers tried expelling Palestinians from their homes in Sheikh Jarrah - this then escalated to the IOF attacking Palestinians in Al Aqsa and throughout the country (almost 300 Palestinians in Gaza were killed and thousands were injured) - there were massive protests all over the world in response. 2021 really laid the foundations for everything that is happening now but it surprises me how little people actually mention the uprising then or were even aware it was happening.
just a reminder to COMPLETELY boycott Eurovision this year; Azerbaijan and Israel, despite committing genocide, are STILL allowed to compete & have NOT been banned. by refusing to ban both countries, Eurovision is profiting off of the genocide of Palestinians and Armenians.
do not listen to the artists. do not pirate or stream the artists' music, and this applies to ALL the artists who are competing and performing this year. do not listen to the songs on ANY platform, do not give them ANY attention.
write to your broadcasters and tell them you REFUSE to watch the channels until they recognise the Armenian and Palestinian genocides & that you find it disgusting how they are allowing Eurovision despite Azerbaijan and Israel's entries.
do NOT give eurovision OR the competing artists ANYTHING but silence.
The reason why anyone even cares about Keanu is because we know that people are gonna freak out about his name being attached to sonic and go watch him and give him money. Maybe I don't want others to monetarily support someone who was so blase about working with my people's murderers????
its so funny when usamericans of all people are like omg usa is 50 countries in a trench coat when you're from a country like india where the first language of people changes atleast 20 times across state lines.
lets be clear though, the establishment of the united states involved a genocide of diverse cultures which is precisely what has made it so uncannily uniform today. from thousands of indigenous languages you now demand everyone speak one. sometimes you'll accommodate spanish at best.
Honestly we need a feminist movement again. I get that twerfs soured a lot of people on it but transfeminists are still developing illuminating and vital theory and I think it's time we all get behind that. It's the only antidote to the men's rights movement wave going on especially in LGBT spaces (for lack of a better term)
interesting how it's always "iranian regime" and never "israeli regime" and definetly never "iran, where the us and uk overthrew a democratically elected leader because the iranian parliment voted to nationalise iranian oil to stop foreign countries profiting off of their resources, with the western powers' actions ultimatly leading to the islamic republic of iran that they so fear"
Hold the fuck on no way WW3 jokes are trending on Twitter when this is an extremely serious situation that’s threatening to destabilize an entire region. No way everyone’s gleefully looking at this as if it’s the grand show finale they’ve been waiting all along. There is no fucking way
"ok but where would Israeli Jewish ppl go" Palestinians have already created a plan for unity, YOU'RE just horny for this idea of brown "savages" getting revenge. White people did this with indigenous peoples, with freed enslaved people, with apartheid SA...also, if your main concern is the settlers/oppressors while the oppressed people can't even recover their dead to count them... (Insert something that'll have me put on a list)
