You are not a special snowflake hothouse flower that needs to be catered to cosseted carefully cultivated so put that aside and listen up you are a child of the Most High King you will change the galaxy today you are ridiculous and awesome and weak and selfish and silly and soft and loud and just plain amazing enough for Christ Himself to look into your heart and love the crap out of you and wipe clean your slate and so let's just for today die to self and truly open up to the Holy Spirit as we cry Your Will Be Done and we don't fear the wild wolves because our God is wilder and we are not proud oh Lord strike that from me the proudness we are huddled together clinging to the Cross safe in Your refuge as we choose joy that does not change we choose peace that does not fade and if we see happy walking down the street we smile at it, pat it on its head, enjoy it for what it is but we don't depend on it because that's not why we were here this side of heaven is uncomfortable and full of misunderstandings and full of people (oy with the poodles already) and yes people can be the worst but we are not made for this side of heaven so get over yourself and start loving the crap out of the people because God loves the crap out of you and I've met you and you need it.

If all of us shared our faith our trust our love of Christ as easily as we shared our gum, imagine the minty-fresh grace that would abound surround and drown us all! Be KIND today (leave nice behind it is too heavy a burden) and if Christ died for you slayed sin for you rose again for you and now prepares a place for you don't you think that you yourself in all your youness are worthy of a little kindness when you look in the mirror stop speaking so harshly and start being a encourager a warrior a bold solider who strides across the surface of this planet sure in their identity because it is not in temporary temporal but in the blessedly eternal and you have a lot of work to do so start with the small questions drink your water and pray it up baby, Easter's coming.

Baby, be wobbly and strong and silly and serious and talkative and quiet and fast and slow and weird so weird oh baby be so weird today because let’s face it following Jesus is weird, our Savior looks at us and really sees us and says we are worthy of His sacrifice that we will not be left as we are but we will be redemptively ridiculously recklessly saved by the Father’s grace, the Son’s sacrifice, and the Spirit’s continuous love. No-one is all one thing or another we are all down to our toes and back full of both/and so let us model that today, allowing God to tint our vision towards joy and bend our hearts towards peace. You can be both a terrible gossip and learn to shut up. You can both be a judgmental harpy and learn that you are chief among sinners. You can be both a solider for the King and tongue-tied when people ask how Jesus has changed your life. Baby, if you don't feel loved you aren't paying attention. My Savior slayed sin, conquered death, and rose again because He recklessly redemptively redonkiculously loves you, no matter what. He's not going to leave you where He meets you, pat you on your head, and say "good job being you, never change!" My Christ will put you in the fire again and again to burn off the dross until you are refined and shiny. Your people love you and stick by you and call you out in love and cry with you and laugh at you and never let you go because you are not a mistake you are not an accident you are worth the effort the time the prayer the heartache the belly laugh the shared germs and the inside jokes. You have 24 hours to be fully whatever you need to be today: quiet, stubborn, silly, sad, joy-full, so you go do you and let today be a day of kairos moments unplanned by you but known to God because you are His today, His ambassador to the planet, representing heaven and you have grown so much in four years you have done so much and sometimes you forget so today let it be a celebration however quiet or loud needs must of your walk with Christ this side of heaven as you pray it out this Leap Year, this day of miracles.

Trust me, I'm plenty unlikable all on my own, you really can't talk that much worse about me than the reality is, dig? Quick list: short, fat, old, loud, usually tired, been known to throw stuff, plays Big Band way too loud, desk filled with chickens and books and endless cups of tea, all the tabs open ever, famous for over-analyzing movies and infamous for underanalyzing the importance of kissing my husband, chronic abuser of slang (BAE! RATCHET! BASIC!), cries at bunnies and golden slippers and all the things, and judges your grammar mercilessly. Pro side: Jesus loves me, weirdly good at making up lyrics, and often have candy. Look, I made my bed and chose my four (Jesus/family/bacon/naps) and if you don't like it I'm so not sorry because maybe your cuppa tea is better but mine comes in a brass-knuckle cup and does me ok - in myself I have no confidence, in my God I have nothing but. Put your trust in Jesus, build your house on the rock, get your water from His well, and sit by me for a hot minute while we rest in the midst of battle and together even when we are different we can do this thing because He who is in us is greater than the world, amen. Tl;dr I kinda suck, I know that and it worries me none percent because my eyes are fixed on Jesus not you.
