Never be afraid to change your name. You may go through twenty, or two, or maybe you like your birth name. But never worry that you’re changing it too many times. You’re trying to figure yourself out, and there’s going to be some trial and error involved.

It’s Pride Month!
I want to wish a happy pride month to all of my lovely aces! I hope you’re able to accept and love yourself for who you are while celebrating this June. For my wonderful closeted aces, here’s a little list of how to celebrate pride without outing yourself. If anyone else has other ideas, please let me know and I’ll add to it!
Paint your nails - if you paint your nails, use the colours of your flag(s). You could do each finger a different colour, or you could make little patterns or use glitter and stencils.
Get artistic - paint on plain shirts, create some pride art and post it online, use patches and your own art to create pride jackets.
Jewelry - ace rings! Patterned bracelets! Dragon necklaces! Cake badges! Find something that you relate to your aceness and buy something of it!
Clothing - wear your flag(s’) colours. Purple shirt, black pants, grey beanie, white socks perhaps?
Listen to LGBT+ artists - musicians with LGBT+ themed music/are LGBT+ themselves.
Baking - bake some cupcakes with icing in the colours of your flag(s)!
Get creative - write some stories with amazing ace representation, create comics about being LGBT+, write poems about your experiences and feelings.
Create a jar of positivity - get a little jam jar or a piggy bank. Every day, write something about yourself that you’re proud of on a post-it note and put it in! This will help you celebrate yourself, and you’ll have some beautiful notes for yourself when you’re struggling or times are tough.
Join online communities - discord servers, forums, group chats! It’s a great way to meet people and celebrate without outing yourself to those around you!
These can also apply to other LGBT+ identities! Please comment or reblog if you have more ideas and I’ll add them!
Happy Pride, stay safe!

help a disabled trans man out
hello! i’m noah, i’m an 18-year-old (going on 19-year-old) disabled transgender man who is trying to save for top surgery because i’m really dysphoric and uncomfortable and am tired of having life pass me by because of dysphoria.
the big bummer is: top surgery is super fucking expensive, i’m disabled, and on limited income b/c of my disability and b/c i’d like to keep what insurance i do have.
so… who, what, when, where: i’m wanting to have top surgery with dr. charles garramone in fort lauderdale, florida around this time 2020.
the amount i’m fundraising ($7,000) will go towards: the hotel ($750-$1000), dr. garramone’s non refundable deposit ($1,000), and 70% of dr. garramone’s surgeon fee ($5,000).
my lovely friend @j-uwu-ish has also made a redbubble for their art and all proceeds they make will go directly to my top surgery fund so if you’d like to support me but would also like something out of it, their redbubble is linked below!

i think that theyres really a difference in how cis people use gender jokes and how trans people use them.
cis people make gender jokes like “haha I identify as a HELICOPTER” and it signifies that to them it’s ridiculous to believe that some people have different identities and navigate being nonbinary. it’s saying that they don’t respect us or they’re just ignorant.
when trans people make gender jokes like “my gender is hating high school teachers” it’s flipping the script, saying that they defiantly don't care about gender and don’t care what cis people think.

If you’re disabled:
Parents/caregivers saying things like “I wasted so much money on you” and “it takes so much money/effort to take care of you” and “be grateful I’m willing to give this much for you” are wrong.
Yes, it’s expensive (whether financially or physically or emotionally or what have you) to take care of a disabled person, but that is their responsibility. If they’re your parents, they signed up for the job as soon as they had a kid.
Disability is not under your control. It’s not your fault that it’s expensive.
No one should use that to guilt you or control you. If they do then they are wrong, and they are cruel.
Edit: this post has gotten popular, so I want to add: if your parents do this to you on a regular basis, that is parental abuse, whether you are disabled or not. Parents should never intentionally make their child feel guilty for needing help to survive.
Also, this isn’t just for kids. I am currently struggling with this as a disabled adult who is dependent on their parents because of abuse. Adults, especially disabled adults, are just as easily abused by parents as minors are. It all depends on the circumstances.

Dark times all around but there are still people out there who love you
Do not hurt yourself, do not hurt others, get help, talk to someone, anyone. Humanity has survived before and we can do it now if we all just support each other. My country and my people let me down and endangered my life but there’s nothing I or anyone else can do about that so let’s try to spread the love that is so clearly lacking.

It is Spring in the Northern Hemisphere! Even more good news is that the bee population has actually been climbing back up and they have been doing very well this year so far!
Which means you are more likely to see an increase of honeybee activity! Especially if you live near any open fields, orchards, or even just a lot of flowering plants!
When a new queen is born into a hive and becomes mature, she takes a lot of workers with her to find a new hive! But the queens are somewhat fat and not very strong fliers! So they stop and rest while scouts find a new spot for a hive! This is called swarming and looks something like this!
Tumblr media
This is NOT a hive! If you see this behavior in bees, rest assured that they will likely be gone within the next few days once they find a spot for their hive! They don’t want to be there any more than you want them to be!
Tumblr media
Sometimes they pick very inconvenient spots to swarm and understandably you want them gone as soon as possible! Luckily there is a humane way if removing them is your only option!
Call your local apiaries (beekeepers) and ask what options they have for humane swarm removal! Many pest control companies also have a humane option to transport a swarm to an apiary!
(About apiaries: Kept bees are actually very healthy and well taken care of and their contribution actually made a great impact in restoring the honeybee population!)
Remember to be good to our hard working little sisters! Don’t panic if you see a swarm, they will be gone before you know it!
And if I catch you hurting a swarm… bees will be the least of your problems!
