Be my guest. Entering without knocking? That's a must. But giving them more than two gifts a week? Hold your horses, buckaroo, do you want people to think you're some kind of weirdo? why i really cling to the phase "seperate they are incomplete" is because canonically, kghn's relationship centers around each other. you cannot put them seperately and expect the same growth, the same development from their characters. kghn both help each other grow and keep doing better for their promised goal. like they understand each other's hunger for volleyball, you see hinata wanted a partner, and kageyama is that partner to him, there are things he learned from him, like his hunger for volleyball was already there but other things like taking care of his health, and apply volleyball to his daily routine is not something he knew, he had to learn, and he did it from kageyama. reminds me of the panel where heitor and hinata were talking and heitor said that to him volleyball is like a job but to hinata it's more like a hobby, not in the sense of not being serious about it though, where hinata talks about tobio and how his habits, daily routine revolved around volleyball. These things are also the ones he learned from tobio too, to make it a part of his routine, to be strong enough to reach their promised goal. seperate they are incomplete, not in a way they are not their own people but in a way that they are each other's end goals. also, we know canonically they keep in touch even with the limitations of time and distance, like when they call internationally and actually make time for it, they think about each other when they are apart, that is why, seperate they are incomplete. That is the goal at the end, to beat EACH OTHER.

the reason why both hinata and kageyama saying the line "as long as i'm here, you're invincible" is so important to the showcase of their relationship is because coming from one another, it means different things. from kageyama to hinata, saying that is basically saying that no matter your physical shortcomings, your lack of technique, as long as i'm here i will back you up. and from hinata to kageyama, saying that is reassuring kageyama that he'll be there, in a time when kageyama was so afraid no one else could keep up with him, or was too demanding with his sets, as long as i'm here i won't let them fall. and the reason why this difference is so important is because this line reassures the other that they will fill the gap where the lack. they will complete one another. in a sense, in this way they are two halves of one whole, and that's not to say that kageyama is the only person who will ever set to hinata, or that hinata is the only person who can hit kageyama's spikes. it's saying that while you develop, while you take your time to grow and nurture what you lack (for hinata is surrounding awareness and technique, for kageyama it's tailoring a set to bring out the best in a spiker rather than what's best for a point), i will be here to pick up your pieces. i will fill in where you can't. as long as i'm here, you're invincible.
