DANGANRONPA AUTUMN WEEK 2020
Day 5: Hot Drinks and Spice
Amasai
It's so late. I'm so sorry. I rushed this baby out too because I can't not participate in fall and winter stuff.
-------------------------------------
"Believe me, Rantaro. I assure you that this will be a very important trip." Korekiyo assured his friend. Rantaro and Korekiyo slowly made their way through the crowded mall. Even though the mall had just opened, crowds had piled inside in Hope's to be first in line for the start of the fall season sales.
Rantaro was thankful that he got some time to hang out with his best friend. Most of the time they were off traveling in different parts of the world and when they had time, they would always get together and catch up.
"Ah no worries Kork. I'm in no rush at all." Rantaro shrugged and looked around at all the different changing seasons sales that were posted in the store windows. A lot of the clothes were right up his alley, but he wasn't interested in trying anything on at the moment.
"I believe you will enjoy this trip as well."
Rantaro was used to Korekiyo being a bit of. mystery. That was one of the things that bonded them together. Both of them had been called an enigma by their peers plenty of times before.
Korekiyo soon stopped right in front of the Hot Topic store.
"You're taking me on an important quest … in hot topic?" Rantaro had to hold back a laugh. He should have known it would not be extremely serious being at the mall.
"You make it sound so trivial. They are having a sale on their jean's and I intend to finally replenish my stock."
"Hey whatever floats your boat. Let's go."
They made their way inside, thankful that it was still relatively empty inside.
Korikeyo immediately went to the right of the store and began sifting through pants while Rantaro eyed the different accessories. Not that he needed anymore, but they were always a want. Without looking, Rantaro turned his body quickly to go on the other side of the display, and instead bumped right into someone.
"Oh, I am so sorry. I didn't even loo-." Rantaro's apology cut short as his green eyes met amber ones. Rantaro thought his heart was going to bump out of his chest, much like the old cartoons. "Oh." A shorter male with blueish hued hair looked up at him, a lanyard hanging around his neck with a hot topic name tag on it. Shuichi.
"It's alright. Uhm. Hap- happens all the time." Shuichi stuttered slightly.
"You run into big goofs all the time?" Rantaro raised an eyebrow.
"No. I mean. Yes. But." Shuichi stopped himself. "The kiosk makes it hard to see around the corner. I run into people a lot because of it."
Rantaro chuckled and put an arm behind his neck nervously. "Yeah and it doesn't help that my limbs normally just… do whatever they want to. Just go around smacking into things a lot." He knew he was rambling but he just couldn't stop.
"As long as you don't get hurt in here." Shuichi attempted to tease him.
"Because you're on duty and dont wanna be responsible?"
"Exactly." Shuichi smiled wided as he laughed, his nose crinkling and making Rantaro swoon even harder.
"I'm gunna guess you opened today yeah?" Rantaro crossed his arms over his chest to keep from leaning on stuff.
"Yeah I couldn't even get my coffee this morning because of the amount of people just waiting outside the complex."
"Shit I'm sorry. What do you normally get?"
"Oh, uhm, I try to keep it simple with just a Pumpkin Spice Latte with an extra shot. I hate to cause a lot of bother. Just a fall staple basically."
"For sure. Normally I wait until the butterscotch lattes are available and then drink my weight in them weekly."
A short clearing of a throat came from beside Rantaro. Korekiyo had made his way back to the two of them, several jeans in his arms. "My apologies for interrupting. I just wanted to let you know that I have now finished."
"I can go ahead and get you guys checked out now then." Shuichi directed them to the counter.
Rantaro bit his lip slightly, trying not to pout outwardly. The check out process was a little too quick for his liking, his eyes not leaving Shuichi as Korekiyo paid for his stuff.
"Thank you guys for coming in!"
"Yeah you too!" Rantaro immediately turned away to keep the blush of embarrassment hidden. Before he knew it, he was outside of the store with Korikeyo trailing behind him.
"You seem a bit flustered." He stated.
"Yeah, haha. Sorry. Just uh." Rantaro tried to find the words but nothing would come out quite right. "He was just nice looking."
"Excellently executed."
"You wouldn't mind if we stopped for coffee before we left right?" Rantaro continued walking, trying not to make eye contact with his best friend.
"If you wish to buy your potential lover coffee, I will not stand in your way." Luckily Korikeyo's legs were as long as Rantaros and he could keep up very easily.
"Thanks. Sorry if that's weird. Just thought I'd do something nice."
"You know the modern courting ritual is very interesting. It seems that coffee is the way to most people's hearts. I will sit down in one of the booths and you can seek me out whenever you have given him his drink." With a small wave. Korekiyo walked into the food court and sat down.
Rantaro stood in line for a while until he was finally able to order for the both of them. He hoped Shuichi hadn't completely forgotten about him. A small bit of anxiety had his thoughts begin to race when he made his way up to the Hot Topic.
There were a few more people than before but luckily Shuichi was not occupied with anyone at the moment. He was busy restocking a shelf of Halloween items.
"Hey Shuichi." Rantaro called out to get his attention before holding out the cup of coffee.
Shuichi stared at him with wide eyes, not expecting the kind gesture. He was frozen still.
"Did I get it from the wrong store? Or did you already get one from another worker? I'm sorry."
"No!" He reached out and grabbed the cup of coffee. "You're actually a life-saver. I have to work until close tonight. Someone called in." He sighed at the warmth in his hands before taking a small sip.
"Well luckily you had me around then." Rantaro smiled and took a sip from his own. "So when exactly is closing?"
"We close at 9 but normally I don't get out until closer to 10 after everything is said and done."
"Oh, so probably too late to do anything."
"Do anything?" Shuichi tilted his head in confusion.
"Oh. Do anything like, hang out. I could come pick you up or something. Hopefully you would have had dinner before then but if not, Dennys is where its at."
Shuichi giggled at Rantaro's carefree outer attitude. "I'd really like that. But uhm. Only if you're sure you want to. You really dont have to."
"Believe me. I'd really like to get to know you. Here give me your number and I'll text you later tonight." Rantaro used his free hand to dig out his phone and hand it to Shuichi.
After Shuichi put his number in and handed it back, he looked back at the register. "I've got people to check out, but I really do appreciate this. It's honestly one of the best coffees I've had in a while."
Rantaro nodded and moved out of the way to let him pass by and get back to work. He looked down at his drink before taking a big shot of it. Maybe Korekiyo was right. Maybe the way to someone's heart really was a good cup of coffee.

LATE
Danganronpa Autumn Week 2020
Day 4- harvest and field/orchard
OUMAMI
Sorry this is late. Had a lot of person problems rise up and my brain said depression time. But I did want to get this out! It's a bit rushed though
------------------------------------------
"Hurry up!" Kokichi's childlike voice shouted. "I've been ready for an hour now!" He stomped hia foot down on the ground.
"Yeah? That's because you were up earlier than I was." Rantaro pulled out a chair from the dining room table and sat down to tie his boot.
"Why did we even have to wait this long into October to go!" Beside Rantaro, Kokichi leaned on the table with a sigh, close enough to where if he turned anymore, he would fall into Rantaro's lap.
"Because." Rantaro switched feet and leaned down. "Isn't it more fun to visit a pumpkin patch closer to Halloween? Your pumpkin won't rot before then. You don't want a sunken in pumpkin face do you?" He lifted his head to face Kokichi, a small crooked smile as he teased.
Kokichi immediately stood upright, his hands folding behind his head. "That's what you think. I'd welcome a rotting pumpkin. It will remind me of my dear Rantaro's beautifully rotting face."
Suddenly Rantaro's deep, rich laugh filled the room. "Yeah you're right. I'd be the scariest decoration on the porch wouldn't I?"
"Yes! But only because your seperate head would be on the front porch."
"Shut the fuck up." Rantaro got up and pushed the chair back into it's place. "Make sure you grab whatever you wanna take and let's go."
Kokichi turned and began to walk towards the front door. "I only need your wallet and my keys and I'm good." He giggled and looked back to see Rantaro shoving his arms through his jacket, an eyebrow raised as he pulled his keys out of his pocket.
"Very funny. No get to the car."
Rantaro may have been born into a well off family, but he liked to keep his belongings more rustic. That included his car. An older model made for off-roading, as he did in many of his adventures. They road for 40 minutes into the country and away from the city life they were used to. A halloween playlist blared from Kokichi's phone connected by an aux chord. The buildings turned into vast pastures with small farm houses and tall trees that only had half of their leaves still on them.
They pulled into a gated ranch and parked in the grass next to some other cars that also had to be visitors. On one side of the field there was a small one story house with a wrap around porch. Complete with rocking chairs and potted plants out front for the old vintage look. On the other side, a red barn with a green corn maze, the pumpkin patch, and a few other activities spread over the arces.
Kokichi jumped out of the car and brought both fist up to his chest, eyes wide with excitement. "Rantaro, it's so cool already!"
Rantaro hit the lock button on his keys. "Not many people out yet so I think we came at the right time."
"Come on let's go I wanna do the petting zoo first!' Kokichi bounced over to Rantaro and tugged on his sleeve as he was digging out cash from his pocket.
"Hell yeah I wanna see a goat."
"Of course you do. You sound just like one when you laugh." Kokichi teased.
"Man I wish. Do you know how funny that would be?" Rantaro was always quick to deflect. He put some money into a small honesty box the farm had set up as you entered the gate. This served as the admission fee.
Once inside, they filled their morning with activities. First the petting zoo where Kokichi was able to feed some of the small animals the farm had. Rantaro got the chance to have a staring contest with one of the goats and unfortunately lost.
Next, because of Kokichi's size, he was able to ride on one of the small pony's they had displayed.
"Damn I can't believe they've got a real unicorn. That's so magical." Rantaro pointed out as he looked at the iridescent horn they had attached to the pony's head.
"Stop! You're going to hurt his feelings!"
Thirdly, they came across the hay ride. Someone who lived on site got up on a horse and allowed other guests to ride in the trailer on the back that was filled with hay. It was a quick go around but being able to see just how big the pasture had been was amazing for them.
It was on that ride that Kokichi noticed a both for face painting.
"Please please please!" He begged Rantaro.
"Sure go ahead. Just stay still so they can make it look nice."
"Isnt the point to be scary for Halloween?"
"Not at a family friendly event its not." He nudged Kokichi. "Plus you're just going to get the clown makeup anyway."
Kokichi leaned back in disbelief. "Rantaro I'm hurt! I was thinking of other things to get. Its like you don't even know me at all!" He pouted.
"Alright you're right. Go ahead and get your face done and I'm going to grab some apple cider."
Kokichi's frown immediately turned back into his childlike expression as he went off to the booth.
It didn't take long for Rantaro to find the food stand and grab a cup of apple cider and make his way back to the face painting booth where Kokichi was finishing up.
"Hey looking good clown." He sipped on the cup.
"Oh shut up Rantaro." He mumbled, unable to move his face much.
Rantaro couldn't help but laugh. Finally Kokichi seemed to be subdued.
Makeover done and cider finished, they found themselves in the next to last activity, the corn maze.
"Have you ever seen Children of the Corn?" Kokichi asked.
"Nah, I don't think so. I don't remember."
"Good." A wide smile creeped across his face.
"Wait what are you smiling about?"
"Oh nothing! Maybe! You gotta find me and then maybe I'll tell you!" Kokichi slid through the corn stalks and out of sight.
A slight panic rose in Rantaro. What was Kokichi up to? Would he get lost? What if he didn't find him after this? He shook his head and started off in the direction Kokichi ran and began his search.
Everytime he would turn a corner, he swore he saw a checkered scarf run past but he couldn't be too sure. He would go off the path for a bit, pulling the stalks back and trying not the break the husks.
After a while he just stood in an open part of the maze, surrounded by the corn. Kokichi was a master at this and it left Rantaro having to look for small weak spots in Kokichi's plans.
Suddenly there was some rustling in the corn to the left of him. Bingo.  He cautiously walked over, trying not to make any noise to alert Kokichi of him noticing him. He slowly reached out his hands in between the stalks and quickly shoved them apart to reveal….a squirrel. Rantaro sighed. He really thought he had him.
Instead it was him that had been played. Soon a small force shoved into him, arms wrapped around him from the side with a he-yah!
"Got you Rantaro! You're super bad at this!" Kokichi looked up at him, his chin rested on Rantaro's arm.
Rantaro tried to hide the relief as he was finally reunited with Kokichi. "Damn. Cant believe you got me again. I knew you were working with the squirrels." He lifted a hand up and tussled the hair on Kokichi's head, causing him to let go and shake his head away from Rantaro's head.
"That's a secret I'll never tell!"
"Why am I not surprised?" He smiled. "Hey let's go pick out our pumpkins now okay? I think that was like the last thing."
"Okay!"
They made their way back towards the front to the large pumpkin patch. People were walking through taking pictures and holding up different sizes from small pie pumpkins, to large ones that were great for displays.
"Go ahead and pick one okay?"
"Ran-Ran can't we get three? One for each of us and then we can carve one together!"
"Oh totally we can do that. But that's it okay?"
Instead of answering, Kokichi zoomed into the patch and began picking different pumpkins up to examine them. He would turn them over and pat them to listen for the slap noise.
"You have to listen for the good noise to know if its worthy!" Kokochi said matter of factly as he lifted one up. "I chose this one!"
"Its way bigger than your head. Are you sure you want to put that much effort into carving it?"
"Yes! I have so many ideas!" Kokichi tucked it under his arm and began looking around for one they could both do.
Rantaro spent a bit more time until finally coming across one that had a nice flat surface for carving. "Alright. I found my boy. Did you find one for us both to do?"
Kokichi held out the pumpkin he chose for Rantaro to take so it would free his hands up. Rantaro shifted each pumpkin under his arm and held them in place as Kokichi kept looking around for the perfect pumpkin.
Finally Kokichi's foot kicked a pumpkin when he wasn't looking. He caught himself before he fell and looked down at it. "Aha!" He leaned down and picked it up. Perfectly oval to allow them both room on each side to work with. "I found it!"
"Sweet. Let's go get checked out then okay?"
They got through the line with ease and made their way back to the car. Rantaro also picked up a jar of homemade jam they had available at the register.
"Hey Ran Ran?" Kokichi asked as he buckled up.
"What's up?"
"Thank you for hanging out with me today and taking me out here. It really meant a lot."
Rantaro could tell Kokichi was having a hard time being vulnerable. "Hey, it's really no problem. I had a great time this morning. And you know it's not over yet. We still gotta carve em." He smiled and turned the key until the car started.
"Oohh! And can we bake the seeds and make roasted pumpkin seeds please!"
"Shit those are my favorite. Of course we can Kichi."

DANGANRONPA AUTUMN WEEK 2020
Oct 13th, Day 3: Cold Hands and Autumn
Souda x Sonia
Happy Birthday Sonia!
----------------------------
Just like every Saturday, Hajime, Komaeda, Souda, and Fuyuhiko were passing time hanging out in different places of their city. They enjoyed finding new cool places, exploring, and inevitably getting into trouble. This time, Komaeda had suggested they visit a shopping center up north of the city where more affluent people resided.
"I don't know man. I think we're going to stick out like a sore thumb." Hajime admitted with an unsure tone as he turned on his blinker and pulled into the parking lot.
"I don't know what you're talking about Hajime. Look at me. I have wealth and I don't look like anyone here." Komaeda, who sat in the back with Souda, smiled, eyes wide as he took in the architecture of each building. The windows to the shops had mannequins in designer clothing and beautiful fairy lights to catch attention.
"Yeah no shit. You'd look like this if you were dirt poor like us." Hiko looked back from the passenger seat and shot him a look.
"Aha! You're right. I just want to be comfortable. I'd look like trash no matter what I wore."
Even though the others were slightly annoyed at the place of hang out, it was Souda who looked the most uncomfortable. Places like this were only in his dreams. He had never even come close to wealth like this before he had met Komaeda. He kept his mouth shut and unbuckled as soon as Hajime found a parking spot. He was glad that everyone would take his scared look to be discomfort from driving because of his motion sickness. He started fiddling with his bare hands to keep them warm in the cold from outside.
"I swear if they think we are stealing just because of how we look I'm going to make sure they catch these fucking hands." Hiko slammed the door and shoved his hands in his pocket.
"Ah they won't. They'd probably be too scared to even talk to us!"
Hajime nudged Komaeda. "That's not at all reassuring. Now come on let's go."
The shopping center had textured light poles that lined the sidewalk with signs of the district on each of them that also displayed other events going on. In the middle of the shops were a couple of tents that had large bulbs for lighting inside and out.
"Let's go in here. It seems a bit more modern? Maybe we can find some cool stuff in here." Komaeda held the door open for the rest of the boys and then followed them in after.
Inside they noticed many different perfume smells and pop music playing over the speakers. On the left side of the store featured more masculine clothing while the right had feminine. Accessories like jewelry, scarves, and shoes were in the middle.
The boys spent a few minutes just going through the racks and looking. Hajime had to keep slapping Komaeda's hands because he kept touching everything. Hiko kept his same grimace with his hands in his pockets.
Souda shifted uncomfortably and occasionally checked a price tag. He didnt know why he kept checking. They just made him feel worse and worse each time. "Hey guys, I think I'm gunna go and uh, check out some of the shoes."
"Yeah you need more. If you get any more holes in your heels I'm going to glue a flip flop on the bottom." Hiko shot at him.
"Hey!" Souda became defensive. So what if he was right. It doesn't give him the right. "They get well loved okay?" He huffed and walked away from the group towards the middle of the store. He tried his hardest to drown out the music and chattering of customers but it was becoming difficult.
He reached out and grabbed a pair of bright neon and pink sneakers and eyed them over. These looked like they would feel so much better than basically walking barefoot.
"Souda!" A light, familiar voice called out.
"M-miss Sonia?" His head jerked up and towards the girl that appeared out of nowhere.
"I did not expect to see you here today." She smiled. A genuine smile that squinted her eyes and warmed Souda's chest.
"Oh! Ah well. The guys are here and were just. You know. Hanging out." He put an arm behind his head nervously. "What about you? Are you here with anyone?"
She pulled her clutch purse up to her chest and shook her head. "Oh! No! I am here alone. I like to try and get Christmas shopping done a bit early to beat out the crowds."
"You're so generous Miss Sonia."
She blushed lightly. "Thank you. Oh! Those shoes would be perfect for you!"
He looked down at his other hand that still held the sneakers. "I! Oh! Yeah haha." He laughed nervously and shoved them back. "I was just looking around and stuff. Nothing major."
"Oh alright. Well I should let you get back to your boys! I look forward to seeing you back at school."
"Of course! Yeah I'll see you at school miss sonia!" He turned around and immediately began to chastise himself for his excited tone. She looked forward to seeing him!
He didn't have to walk too far before he almost ran into the other three boys.
"So are you going to go and keep her company?" Hajime broke the silence.
"Guys no. She's got business to take care of."
"Yeah, alone. No one wants that shit." Maybe Hiko was right. He wouldn't want to be alone.
"Souda. You should go and at least ask. What's the worst she can say? No?" Komaeda questioned.
"Yeah and then my dignity is lessened." He sighed, frustrated.
"Just do it asshole before I invite you with her myself."
Souda put his arms out to stop Hiko. "No no no! Fine. I'll do it. Okay? Just. I wanna leave after this and go to a different store okay?" He cautiously walked back over to the shoes but did not see her. Shit. He looked around nervous before seeing her checking out towards the front.
"Miss Sonia!"
This time it was her turn to be surprised. "Oh hello again Souda!" She switched the bags in her hands to be more comfortable. "I thought you had to go back and be with the boys?"
"Well. I just, uhm." He took a moment to muster a fake confidence. "I just wondered if you'd like to have some company while you shopped. A princess shouldn't be alone."
Sonia was shocked at the offer. "You know, I think I would really enjoy that actually."
Souda's brain did a double take. "Wait really?"
"Yes! I think it would be quite fun."
Souda turned back around and saw the boys suspiciously, and badly, hiding behind some racks watching. Of course they were spying. "Alright uhm. Why don't you lead the way Miss Sonia."
As soon as they walked out, the boys high fived themselves. Souda would just wait for a call from Hajime when they were done.
Souda and Sonia walked down a couple of shops before going into a candle store that did not have many people in it. They sniffed many different scents and giggled as they tried to see if the scents matched the names. They had not had interactions like this before.
They continued on like that for a few more stores and each time they went out into the cold, Souda would flex out his fingers and rub his hands together. He tried to be discreet about it, but as the sun lowered, so did the temperature.
"Souda? Are you cold?"
"What? Oh. I mean it is pretty cold out here."
Sonia tilted her head to the side and thought for a moment. "Give me your hands." She pushed her bags into her elbows and held out her palms.
Souda blushed brightly but complied. How could he not obey a princess? As soon as his hands touched her warm ones, he almost sighed. They felt amazing.
"Your hands are freezing! Did you not dress properly to be out here?"
"No. I guess I wasn't thinking." He laughed nervously through his lie.
"Allow me to warm them for you then." She adjusted his hands in hers to provide as much warmth as she could.
"Thank you Miss Sonia. I really do appreciate it."
They stayed like that for a moment, just so they could take in each other. Not too far from them, a small clock chimed signaling another hour had passed.
"Thank you for providing me with company this evening."
"For sure! It's my pleasure!"
She squeezed his hands and smiled.
The atmosphere broke as Souda's phone began to ring in his pocket. He quickly drew his hands back and pulled it out to see Hajime calling.
"Hey dude are you ready? Komaeda got hungry and you know we have to follow what he wants or we are all fucked. He says he will buy us all lunch."
"Uh yeah that sounds great!"
Sonia set her bags down on the bench next to them.
"Alright just come back to the car. We will be waiting."
Souda sighed and put his phone back into his pocket. "I gotta go for real this time. Sorry about that."
"No trouble at all! I understand. I must get back as well. I do not want anyone getting too worried."
Souda nodded and looked down at his feet.
In a split decision, Sonia wrapped her arms around him and hugged him tightly.
He couldn't help the small noise of surprise that escaped when he felt her arms. It took him a moment but he finally hugged her back.
"See you at school. For real this time! Make sure you get some gloves soon alright?" She repeated the words he previously stated and grabbed all her bags but one and started to walk off.
He watched her walk off, but not in any lewd sense. He simply needed a moment to process that she had actually spent some time with him. He finally pulled his eyes away to notice a bag that had been left.
"Miss Sonia!" He shouted. "You forgot a bag!"
She turned around with a bounce and laughed while shouting back. "No I didn't!"
Confused, Souda grabbed the sack and carefully looked inside of it. His eyes widened as he saw a shoe box. There's no way she would have done that for him, would she?
His question was answered as he lifted the box and saw the brightly colored sneakers that brought them together staring back at him.

DANGANRONPA AUTUMN WEEK 2020
DAY 2 : HOLIDAY AND TOGETHER
AU: Post Game Simulation V3
lmao i rushed this because i wanted to add so much so its messy and im sorry
It had been a couple of months since a small group of school kids with extraordinary talents had been forced to endure a traumatic life changing event. Slaughtering each other left and right and having to kick start survival senses just to make it through. Even if it was all virtual, the pain of dying and the pain of betrayal was all real for each of them. Although through the misery of a killing game, these kids found a bond between them all, having learned all of the best and worst parts of each other.
After they woke up, they had made an oath to always keep in touch and check in on each other no matter where their future paths may take them. So far, that vow had stood strong. As the seasons changed and the healing continued, they made time for each other.
The air outside grew colder and colder until dew from the day began to frost as the sun disappeared in the horizon. Kaede Akamatsu and Shuichi Saihara walked down a long asphalt paved driveway towards a large white home that reminded the both of them of a mansion from movies. Complete with carved pillars and a green garden outside with flowers that popped against the white and cream of the structure. The grass around the property looked like it was just as green as golf fields.
Kaede held a tub of cookies in her mittened hands while Shuichi carefully walked a pitcher of apple cider he had homemade with Kaede not too long before their departure.
“I knew Kirumi was well off with her talent but jeez!” Kaede’s bright voice cut through the cold.
“I’m not r-really surprised.” Shuichi responded, shivering and stuttering.
Kirumi Tojo had decided that they should meet up for the holidays and have themselves a “Friendsgiving.” She informed everyone that she would be making the main dishes but if anyone had anything else they specifically wanted, she would welcome the aid.
“I’m so excited to see everyone! They’re all getting a big hug whether they like it or not!” Kaede always spoke with such determination and confidence and luckily that same attitude had slowly begun to rub off on Shuichi.
“I’m s-sure they’d l-love that.” Shuichi turned to look at her and smile before glancing back towards the front door.
As they had gotten closer, they noticed a fall wreath hanging on the front door. Yellows, browns, and oranges littered the leaves and flowers that circled it. As they stepped on to the small stairs that lead to the porch, they saw a couple of the flower picks had fallen off; hot glue bubbles still on the ends. Shuichi determined that this must be a homemade wreath.
Kirumi would not have let her creations fall apart like that. So they wondered just who would have taken part in the decorations.
Kaede reached out her hand and softly knocked on the wooden door. It only took a moment before an excited Angie swung the door open.
“Ah! Atua told me that it was you two!” She tilted her head from side to side.
“Don’t listen to her. She looked outside the window and noticed Kaede walking up!” Tenko shouted behind her. In her hands was a banner with many fall colors.
“Nyehh…” A small voice beside Tenko mumbled. “Tenko, I can’t put that above the window. I’m too short. I have to save my magic for dinner.”
“Don’t worry Himiko! I will get it and all you have to do is hold the end and look pretty!” Tenko grabbed Himiko’s hand and pulled her off towards a grand window facing the front of the house.
Angie bounced on the soles of her feet before moving out of the way to let Shuichi and Kaede through. “Now we are just waiting on Gonta! I hope he did not get lost! Atua would be very upset if he did not make it in time for the turkey!”
“Oh I’m sure he will get here! We just have to be patient.” Kaede nodded and then walked further into the house to find the dining room. Shuichi shut the front door behind him and trailed after her.
As they passed through the living room, more and more familiar faces appeared. On the large sectional sat Tsumugi, Hoshi, and Korekiyo. The three of them were facing towards the TV that was mounted on top of the fireplace in the middle of the wall. Korekiyo, sat criss cross on an arm rest of the sofa, kept his attention on a small book that he had brought with him. Tsumugi and Hoshi sat on the cushions, their attention on the TV that had the Netflix menu on it.
“Tsumugi. It’s Thanksgiving. Can we not use my account to watch your trashy cartoons please?” Hoshi’s calm deep voice questioned her. He leaned back and adjusted the candy cigarette in his mouth, something he always kept to curb his previous addiction.
“Not all of it is trashy! I can find some very sweet slice of life animes! Like Ouran! Or Fruits Basket!”
“I don’t care what’s in the basket. I just don’t want it in my watch history.” Hoshi pulled his beanie over his eyes and sighed.
Shuichi had to bite his lip so that he didn’t outwardly laugh at the quick witted response. Kaede didn’t want to get involved in that argument and moved forward into the hallway.
“You little fucker!” A shrill voice stopped them in their tracks.
“Get your short ass back here!”
A small figure zoomed out of a room and into the hallway. Of course Kokichi had gotten himself into trouble already.
“It’s your fault your hair is so long! Maybe you should cut it or something? I hear being bald is totally in right now!” Kokichi giggled and raised a finger to his lips, a signature move as he teased.
Iruma followed into the hallway, holding strands of her hair. “You better open your tiny little mouth and get to eating this shit out. I am not about to let it dry and ruin my beautiful blonde hair!”
“Don’t you know how to use a hairbrush? Or do you not know hygiene either?”
“That’s it. Say you’re fucking prayers!” Iruma lunged forward but a hand covered with rings wrapped around her forearm.
“Iruma. It’s just jello. It won’t ruin anything.” Rantaro came into view. He let go of her and folded his arms across his chest. “And Kokichi. This is a special time. Don’t waste food by throwing it at people. We’re literally trying to celebrate being thankful.”
Kokichi sighed loudly and slumped his shoulders. “Fine.” He drug the word out in annoyance. “I’ll just go steal the remote from the weeb or something then.” He turned on his heel and pushed past Shuichi and Kaede down into the living room.
“Hey guys. Sorry about that.” Rantaro’s previous firm attitude fell and the normal carefree one appeared. “Guess I gotta keep a better eye on him while we are here.” He put a hand behind his neck and looked down at their hands. “Oh yeah Kirumi is in the dining room now looking to place the food. So go right ahead.” He moved out of the way and followed Kokichi’s path.
Iruma had been messing with the strands of hair, trying to pick the food out. “He’s lucky that Rantaro was here to protect him. Again. One day I’m gunna beat the shit out of that little twink.”
“Ah I think he’s just, just trying to g-get a rise out of you.” Shuichi offered.
“I don’t want that kind of rise for me!” Iruma smarted off, making Shuichi shut his mouth quickly.
“Okay!” Kaede interrupted. “We’re going to go set these down then!” She wanted to cut it off before it got anymore vulgar. Shuichi nodded and the two of them started towards the kitchen.
“I’d close my eyes before walking through there.” Iruma warned.
“Why? Is the food cooking in there just that appetizing? Will we want to eat it the minute we see it?” Kaede’s eyes widened with joy.
Iruma blushed brightly. “Uh. No!” She struggled to find words. “Worse! Actually just go see for yourself. Embarrass him more while you’re at it!” She let out a boisterous laugh before turning her heel to another room down the hallway that had to be a bathroom.
Shuichi and Kaede exchanged looks before walking into the kitchen, slightly afraid of what they might find. What they didn’t expect was the see Kaito and Maki in the middle of the room. Kaito leaning on a cabinet with something in his hand in front of Maki, keeping her in place.
“How many times do I have to tell you? Wrong holiday.”
“Isn’t it close enough though?” Kaito’s voice pleaded. “Come on. It’s tradition.”
“Yes. For Christmas.” Maki sounded like she was way past done with the conversation.
“So you admit that you’ll kiss me under the mistletoe at Christmas.” Kaito smirked and looked down at her with his “famous smolder.”
“I am not admitting anything. I am stating a fact Kaito.” Maki’s face flushed and she reached up to play with the hair that had fallen in front of her shoulders.
That’s why Iruma had mentioned embarrassing someone. Kaito had mistletoe and had been trying to get Maki under it.
“Sidekick help me out.” Shuichi didn’t think Kaito had noticed him.
“I uh, uhm. Well.” Shuichi stumbled on his words.
“See? He agrees with me!” Kaito said matter of factly.
“He just stuttered like always.” Maki glared.
“Yeah and I can understand his language!” Kaito leaned back offended. “Don’t hurt his feelings like that!”
“Why don’t you get him under that first then.” Maki challenged.
“I will! Get over here sidekick!” Kaito stomped his foot down and motioned for Shuichi to come forward.
Shuichi panicked slightly and shook his head. “Actually Kaito uh, actually I n-need to take this to Kirumi. You just, uhm, just keep trying.” He struggled to appease the taller male in front of him. He ducked his head nervously and turned into the grandiose dining room, Kaede giggling behind him.
The room had a yellow mood lighting with a large table in the middle. A white lace table runner down the middle with some plates already sat at the chairs. At the end of the table they found that they had finally met their goal. Kirumi and Kiibo stood down at the end. In Kiibo’s hands were two sets of plates that Kirumi would reach for as she set the table.
“Oh hello Kaede. Shuichi. It’s so wonderful to see you.” Kirumi’s pleasant tone was a nice change from the chaos they had just previously endured.
“Kirumi is letting me learn how to properly set tables!” Kiibo seemed genuinely excited to be able to help out.
“That’s wonderful Kiibo!” Kaede looked for a place to set her tin of cookies and gestured for Shuichi to do the same with the pitcher.
“We just have a couple of plates left to set and then everyone can come and eat.” Kirumi gently placed some utensils down into a designed napkin.
“I do not believe Gonta has arrived yet. I am hoping he will be here soon.” Kiibo pointed out and frowned in concern.
“Gonta will make it in time. It’s part of being a gentleman.” Kirumi pointed out and placed her hands in front of her on her skirt. Kiibo took the last set of plates and placed them on the placemat along with the proper utensils.
“I think we are ready now.” Kiibo nodded.
“Alright. Well why don’t the three of you pick your seats while I go and inform the others.” Kirumi seemed to glide as she exited the dining room.
It wasn’t long before the empty spaces were filled with bodies chattering with each other. Kirumi was back and forth putting the main courses on the table. Angie sprung into the dining room with a large figure behind her.
“Look everyone! Gonta made it! Atua helped guide him to us! How divine!” She collapsed her hands together before sitting down next to Himiko. Everyone lifted their heads and greeted him with delight.
“Gonta very sorry everyone! Gonta not sure what to bring as gift but finally found amazing thing!” Gonta held up a wrapped present and smiled wide.
“Gonta why did you bring a gift?” Kokichi questioned.
“Well Gonta just do what Miss Kirumi tell him. It Friendsgiving. So Gonta bring something to give friends!”
Kokichi began to laugh loudly. “Gonta you are so gullible! It’s a play on Thanksgiving! It doesn't mean giving to friends!”
“Oh!” Gonta’s face fell. “Gonta so sorry everyone! Just wanted to do the gentlemanly thing.”
“You did.” Kirumi walked back in for the final time and took the gift from Gonta. “I will go ahead and open it. Alright?” She peeled the wrapping paper away to reveal a diorama of different beetle types. Something used for educational purposes in the classroom. “This is wonderful, Gonta. I am sure we will learn a lot from this. Go ahead and have a seat.”
Gonta nodded before sitting down next to Kokichi and unfolding a napkin to put in his lap.
With such varying personalities, the chances of them all being friends under normal circumstances was low. However, they were all grateful for the friendships they had gained and found within each other. Kirumi cut into the turkey and served a piece to each person. Everyone  was just happy to forget about their lives for a while. Despite everything that happened, this holiday was panning out to be one of the best ones they’ve had.

DANGANRONPA AUTUMN WEEK 2020
Day 1: October 11th: Leaves & Forest
KOMAHINA - LEAVES
On a cool October afternoon, most people would be outside enjoying the carefree atmosphere that autumn brought. With Fall Break came many opportunities that the hot summer lacked. Clouds littered the sky causing the sun to hide away and the leaves to fall continuously, leaving bare branches in their place. The leaves now met with the browning grass and the wind offered a quiet melody as it chilled the already cold temperature outside. It was truly a serene atmosphere mother nature had created. However, not everyone was enjoying it.
Out front of Hope's Peak academy stood two young boys, both with rakes in their hands, trying lazily to rid the front lawns of the fallen leaves.
Every few seconds there would be a scraping of metal against dirt or the soft plop of sticks and leaves as piles were created.
One of the boys seemed to zone out into the mindless work and began to dump his piles wherever he saw an accumulation.
"Stop throwing your shit on to mine!" A young man squeaked out, obviously frustrated.
"Hajime. Really? Now why would someone like me try to sabotage you." A breathy voice replied. "Like I'd even know how."
"Shut your mouth Nagito. This is all your fault. If you hadn't opened your big mouth we wouldn't be stuck raking leaves while everyone else is hanging out together!"
"It's not my fault. Blame my luck." He trailed off and shuffled a few stray leaves into the pile closest to him. "I thought you would like charitable work. Wouldn't it make you feel something inside of that talentless body?" Nagito let out a laugh that would have people wondering if he ever got enough oxygen into his lungs.
Hajime was used to this kind of behavior from Nagito. Now those normally harsh words didn't cause much of an uproar within him. They were now just part of Nagito's "teasing".
"No. You were asked to rake leaves for volunteer work and they thought you shouldn't be alone. It was you who suggested I be the one to help you in the first place." Hajime dug the rake prongs into leaves to create a crunching sound. "Thus resulting in it being your fault for me being here."
Nagito pushed his rake into the ground and leaned on the wooden base. "And what else would you possibly be doing right now besides this? Reading? Playing video games? Watching tv?" His tone was somewhat mocking at this point. He tilted his head back slightly to feign being above him. "All of those being alone I would presume? What hope could you possibly find in being alone on such a nice day? While all your friends are off with each oth-"
Nagito's rant was soon cut off by a handful of leaves being thrown in his face, bits of debris catching and sticking into his frizzled hair.
Hajime stoos in front of him and stared at him, having grown tired and not wanting him to go any further with his insults. His hands filled with yet another scoop of leaves, ready to shut him up again.
Nagito's mouth was slack open, in shock at what had just happened. "Haji-."
Cut off again by another lump by leaves.
Hajime raised his eyebrows as a warning for Nagito to quit talking. Much like a parent would their child. Sometimes Hajime felt like this dynamic could almost become permanent the more he learned of Nagito's behavior.
Nagito's breathing picked up and Hajime thought he may have gone a little far as he tried to read the facial expressions he was showing, but the heavy breathing quickly turned into his famous chest heavy laugh.
Out of nowhere, Nagito bent down and grabbed two handfuls of leaves and chucked them at Hajime, covering the boy, and watched the debris fall off his shoulders.
There was a tense silence as the laugh had dissipated into the air. They both watched each other intently to see who would make the first move and grab another chunk of leaves. It was now like a stand-off. Hajime's eyes darted back and forth between the pile beside him and Nagito. He wasn't going to let him win this time. Nagito always pushed his buttons just to come out on top, but not this time.
Hajime bent down quickly, hands in a scooping position, and expected Nagito to be reaching down as well. However in his perefrile, he didn't see Nagito's frame mirroring his. Instead the form was coming forward, hands out in front of him.
"Ahhh!"
He only had time for a surprised scream as Nagito's hands connected with his shoulders and pushed him backwards into a pile of leaves. A soft sound as he landed and shot leaves into the air.
Nagito busted out laughing again, screeching at some points as he inhaled sharply for any hair he could muster. He could hardly contain himself as his laughter had him double over into the leaves with Hajime. Hajime huffed, pushing air upwards to ride his nose of debris, but as soon as he saw the wide genuine grin beside him, the grimace he had been wearing turned into a defeated smile.
Nagito might be a pain in the ass, but there were times like these that had Hajime feel quite relieved to have found a friendship with him.
"See Hajime? Didn't you want to spend time with your friends for the break? Just like I hoped, you're having a good time!" Nagito wrapped his arms around himself and sighed in relief.
"Yeah, well." Hajime paused to try and pick his words carefully. He didn't want to start right back over at square one by giving him a complex. "Let's just hurry this up so we can catch up with the others okay?"

AMASAI WEEK 2020 - STARS/LATE
I had to contribute at least once to this beautiful week. Work currently has me loaded because of everything going on so I could only so a short rushed one shot. I'm hoping to do more on my day off!
Hope you guys enjoy!
******************************************
It was a miracle that anyone would be able to fall asleep under these circumstances. Being kidnapped and thrown into a group of strangers all being told to murder each other seemed like a nightmare to begin with. Shuichi Saihara was done pinching himself and finally decided to come to terms with this being his reality for the time being.
So far everyone seemed friendly enough. No one jumped out at him as someone who would actually fall for any of the antics the creepy bears would pull. However, there still lay a burning feeling in his chest that screamed that he should not throw trust around so easily. Kaede Akamatsu was the only one so far that started to burrow under the wall he had built up. Still, he tried his hardest not to lean on her too much.
It had only been a couple of days, but it currently felt like a couple of weeks. Shuichi made his way out of the dorms down to what seemed like a courtyard gazebo outside with wisteria that hung above some benches. Shuichi rolled up the sleeves to his white button up and reached up to let his finger tips graze the flowers. Artificial or not, the light that came from the moon and stars above lit up beautifully and allowed him to see every vibrant hue of purple in the petals.
"Beautiful night, yeah?" A voice spoke low behind him. Shuichi had been so distracted examining the flowers that he jumped at the sudden noise.
"Woah there, didn't mean to scare ya." Rantaro Amami. How Shuichi didn't hear the tall man approaching from behind him, he didn't know.
Shuichi blushed brightly and hoped the rays of the moon offset the color and instead heightened his pale complexion. He really didn't want Rantaro to make fun of him.
"Y-yeah. I don't think I've ever seen stars this bright. Or the moon this close f-for that matter." Shuichi responded. He let the hand caressing the flower fall to his side.
"Really? You should see them from this cool reserve in New Zealand. The sky is so clear you can even see the Aurora Australis." Rantaro chuckled and shoved his hands into his pocket before walking closer to Shuichi.
"I don't actually do m-much traveling to be honest." Shuichi admitted. "And I've lived more in the city all my l-life. The lights drown it out."
"You've gotta take time and see stuff outside of your bubble Shuichi." Rantaro stated matter-of-factly. "You have so much untapped potential you know."
Shuichi was taken aback by how firm Rantaro was being. He acted like he knew Shuichi just from a few prior conversations. "I, uhm. Uh." Shuichi stammered out random noises trying to put together a response.
Rantaro's eyes softened and he reached out to touch Shuichi's arm. It was a very slow and gentle motion, as if to not scare him. "Sorry. It's just the big brother in me. I try to read people and accommodate. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't."
Shuichi felt warmth from the hand that touched him. He looked down at the tanned skin littered with freckles and how it looked in contrast to his own complexion. "No you're f-fine. You're right regardless."
Rantaro pulled his hand away much to Shuichi's dismay and stepped on to the bench and sat on the back portion of it, his eyes fixed on the sky.
"You know, when we get out of here, I'd be honored to have you join me. Maybe we'll be lucky and be able to pinpoint different galaxies." Rantaro clasped his hands together and pressed his index fingers to his lips as he concentrated.
Shuichi eyed Rantaro up and down. This was another instance where he wasn't sure if he should trust what someone else was saying. He could just be saying that right now in the heat of the moment.
"You really don't h-have to. I understand completely." Shuichi crossed his arms and retracted into himself. He really wasn't used to anyone taking much interest in him. He didn't stick out enough to have anyone consider him a friend.
"I promise." Rantaro murmured against his fingers.
"W-what?" Shuichi could just chalk that up to Rantaro being muffled.
Rantaro let his hands fall slowly down and lay limply on his elbows. "I said I promise," He reached out his hand towards Shuichi expectantly.
It took him a moment, but Shuichi finally accepted the offer and slowly let the palm of his hand connect with Rantaro's before being embraced in the other’s grip.
"And when I promise something, I make damn sure it happens." Rantaro was not looking at the stars anymore. Shuichi's amber eyes were melting under Rantaro's olive gaze. Something about this moment seemed more real than anything he had encountered since being here.
"I-I believe you." Shuichi whispered out.
It was not clear if they would have different weather patterns in their little cages world, but soon a breeze washed over them from nowhere. Rantaro's loose curls blew and bounced and Shuichi's heart began to beat in tandem with each bounce.
"That means a lot Shuichi." Rantaro's thumb brushed across Shuichi's knuckles before subtly beginning to tug on his hand. Shuichi caught on and moved forward to get closer to him.
Shuichi stood in front of Rantaro, his knees opening to allow Shuichi to fit in between them. Even sitting on the top of the bench ledge. Rantaro still had a couple of inches on Shuichi.
It was silent between them; nothing was said in response. Rantaro leaned forward slowly and Shuichi felt a magnetic sense moving him forward as well until they met in the middle. Their lips melded together as if it were such a natural thing for them.
This wasn't like Shuichi. He had only ever kissed one person before. Maybe it was the situation that caused more impulsive decisions but he did not regret it in this moment. He didn't keep track of how long they stayed like that, but he could feel the reluctance that Rantaro had as he pulled away.
"It's getting late Shuichi." He whispered into their little bubble they created. "We should probably get back inside before anyone sees us and thinks we are conspiring against them." Rantaro grinned and Shuichi couldn't help but laugh at his goofy tone.
"Yeah, you're r-right." Shuichi took a step out from between his legs and allowed Rantaro to jump down to his feet.
"Go ahead and head back okay? I'll be right behind."
"I d-dont want to leave you here on your own-"
Rantaro waved his hand towards Shuichi. "Hey don't sweat it. I was out here for a reason too you know."
Shuichi nodded. "Alright. Good night Rantaro. And thank you."
"For?" Rantaro tilted his head slightly.
"Just, speaking with me." Shuichi bit his lip and turned away so that Rantaro couldn't see his face. The sooner he got away from there, the quicker he could move past feeling embarrassed.
Rantaro just smiled and watched the boy quickly walk back to the dormitory. He wasn't expecting anything like that to happen. As soon as Shuichi disappeared into the building, he turned back and looked up at the moon.
Rantaro's mind began to race with different anxiety inducing thoughts. Something he had sought some outside time to escape. He had just promised Shuichi something he couldn't control.
It felt right and he was going to do everything in his power to make it happen. He was going to do whatever he had to do to make sure the others could get out. So Shuichi could get out and finally enjoy actual stars. Unfortunately, deep inside, he knew that soon it would be too late for him.

SPOILERS FOR CHAPTER 1. I JUST REALLY WANTED TO GET THIS OFF MY CHEST BECAUSE I AM A FILTHY KINNIE
*********************************************
"Kokichi I said don't follow me."
"But Ran Ran please!"
Kokichi whined at the taller male in front of him. His hands were balled into fist in front of him and his face was squished into a pout. Rantaro sighed and frowned. He had told Kokichi over and over again that he wanted to go about things on his own for a little while and he certainly kept his plan a secret much to Kokichi's displeasure. One of his main reasons being he didn't want Kokichi to get hurt if something were to happen.
"But I can keep watch! Hell I could sneak into places because you're too tall! I can lock pick! You need my expertise." Kokichi stated matter of factly and m shoved his fist onto his hips.
Rantaro's green eyes locked on to the purple eyes in front of him, a soft smile replacing the frown. He could feel his chest tightening at having to keep Kokichi at a distance. He knew things like this would mess with his head and push any ounce of trust he had gained through their small amount of time together out of the window. Kokichi wouldn't get close to anyone so carelessly. The fact that Rantaro was able to dip his finger tips past the cracks in the walls Kokichi had up was both a blessing and a curse.
From day one, Kokochi seemed to latch on to Rantaro. Something about each other acted as a magnet to the other. Neither of them were quite sure what it was but they didn't find it pivotal to question. Kokichi didn't know what personal space was but Rantaro didn't mind. He would knock and come into Rantaro's room as soon as it was open the tinest bit and before Rantaro could properly invite him in.
He also noticed pretty early on that Rantaro had some information none of the others did. Kokichi hung around him and called it "keeping and eye on him" in case he was the mastermind since he was so suspicious. Rantaro knew that was not quite the truth the first time Kokichi let down a wall and fell asleep in his bed.
From then on Kokichi would make his way into Rantaro's bedroom each night. Sometimes he would leave in the middle of the night. Other times they were so caught up in laughing at each others antics that neither of them noticed when they would both doze off. Kokichi got to see the goofy side of Rantaro. Like when he would bump into something in his room and knock it over and respond with "Sorry. I've just got a fat ass." Or, "Who fucked the legend? Who fucked the legend Danny Devito?" After a random thought process. It was refreshing to know he was just as silly and could keep up with Kokichi's antics.
The two had become inseparable, but not to anyone around them. They kept their stuff private to not attract any unwanted attention or questions. It was safer for the both of them to work together in secrecy. Kokichi would still throw jokes at him across the table at breakfast or make flirty remarks but in a way that made everyone think he was completely faking it.
"I'll tell you what," Rantaro reached out and held Kokichi's shoulder gently. "If you let me go do this on my own and I get us out of here, I promise I will have you by my side when we escape. Okay? I won't just forget about you and move out when were out." He squeezed his grip only slightly to affirm his own statement.
Kokichi deadpanned and never took his eyes off of Rantaro's as he processed the words. He wanted to believe him. He really did, but something didn't seem right. "No." His voice was monotone.
"What do you mean no?" Rantaro raised an eyebrow.
Rantaro's confidence really was something to admire. Kokichi knew that Rantaro had something up those billowing sleeves of his. Something no one else here had.
"Just kidding!" Kokichi flashed a cheeky grin. "Fine. I'll let you do whatever you need to. Just please don't get yourself hurt okay? I don't wanna have to clean up your mess!" Kokichi poked Rantaro in the chest and stuck his tongue out.
A smile returned to Rantaro's face. He knew full well that Kokichi was just lying to keep his emotions about it safe.
"You need to stay out of the way and I'm serious. For your sake, just stay inside your room or something. I promise that I will be back okay?" He pulled Kokichi into a hug and held him there, an arm around his shoulders and the other hand behind Kokichi's head. It took a moment, but Kokichi finally wrapped his arms around Rantaro's waist and buried his face into his chest. They stayed like that for a couple of minutes to just be with each other, both of them uncertain of the outcome of Rantaro's plan.
Rantaro leaned down and kissed the top of Kokichi's fluffy hair before pulling back, a little reluctantly.
"I've gotta go now okay? Time is running out and I really need to this for everyone." The aura had changed back to a serious tone now and Kokichi knew that meant business.
"Okay. I love you Ran Ran." Kokichi pulled back and turned away, not wanting to watch Rantaro leave from his room.
There was no joke or lie at the end which was unusual for Kokichi.
"I love you too Kichi."
Time seemed to go by so slow as Kokichi tried to busy himself in his room. Sheets of paper surrounded him on the bed as he tried desperately to distract himself. He tried napping but no one could sleep at a time like this.
Suddenly the monitor turned on. Kokichi's heart leaped and he wondered if he would see Rantaro's face appear. Maybe he had defeated Monokuma in a cool ninja fight and had taken over the system.
The loud music that began blaring almost made him jump out of bed. He rushed over to the monitor and jumped up and down trying to even reach it, hoping there was a volume button but it was no use. He covered his ears and went for the door, reaching out for the handle but Rantaros voice from earlier stopped him. In one hour everything would be over. "Dont follow me
I promise I'll be back."
Kokichi's hand hovered over the knob, trembling slightly. His stomach churned as he struggled to decide whether he should trust him or not. He didn't realize tears had welled into his eyes until one began to drop down his cheek. The thought of dying scared him. If Rantaro failed and they all died, Kokichi would be here alone for it. His whole body shook and he let out a sob. So much for being strong through it all.
He jerked his hand back and groaned in frustration. The music surrounding him made it hard to think. As sudden as the music started, it shut off just as abruptly.
Kokichi looked up at the monitor with wide terror filled eyes. What was going to happen now? Would it be sudden or would they have to endure it slowly?
What he didn't expect was to be shaken out of his thoughts but the unwelcomed voice of Monokuma.
"A body has been discovered! Please, make your way to the library to begin investigation!"
Throwing all his previous thoughts out, Kokichi swung his door open and ran as fast as he legs would go, catching up with Iruma, Hoshi, Korekiyo, Kirumi, and Kiibo.
The sight before him once he reached the back of library made his vision begin to grow blurry. The sound of his heart strings snapping into loose strings in his chest blocked out the sounds of those around him.
There laid Rantaro, dead, in a puddle of his own blood.
No. No no no no no.
"This is a lie right?" Tears were falling down his cheeks as he spoke and his lip quivered as he tried to keep a sob in. "My dearest Rantaro is dea- I mean was killed?" His voice squeaked and he cried out.
"Oh shut up would you? It's not like you even cared." Tenko shot at him.
Kokichi immediately stopped, save for a few sniffles as he tried to collect himself. No one here would believe him anyway. They all thought he was a heartless monster and he knew it. The looks he was recieving told it all. "Nishishi! You caught me! Thank goodness this thing isn't boring anymore!" He threw his hands behind his head and grinned wide enough to make his eyes squint closed. His abdomen burned as he gulped and felt his emotions plummet to the bottom of his stomach.
It felt like a slap in the face when no one took the first blood perk. Why would someone do something like that to someone like Rantaro. He didn't even do anything wrong. Kokichi wanted to scream and lash out at everyone surrounding Monokuma when they were faced with actually having to have a trial.
While the others were fixated on arguing with Monokuma, Kokichi snuck over to Rantaro's body. One last look at the boy had actually began to rebuild his thoughts on humanity. He squatted down quietly and let his finger tips brush against Rantaro's still warm cheek on his way to his collar. He clasped his fingers around a chain and yanked it off with ease. He kept a good hold on it with his index finger as he let it droop down his forearm into his sleeve to hide it.
"Well if you'll excuse me!" He suddenly shouted. "I have to do some investigating by myself. I don't need anyone with me to figure this out. Good luck everyone!"
"Oh no you don't. You can't get out of this that easily." Kaito stormed towards him but Kaede stopped him.
"Let him go. We will catch up with him later." Kaede kept her arm out to keep him in place.
Kaito huffed and glared at Kokichi but Kokichi didn't care. He just walked slowly out of the library and made his way back to his room without taking another look behind.
As Kokichi walked, he took the necklace out of his sleeve and examined it. This was the only thing he had left of him. No one would take this away from him. He slipped the necklace up under his checkered scarf and clasped it behind his neck. It was perfectly hidden from everyone else but he would know it was there.
As soon as Kokichi walked into his dorm and shut the door, he hoped that either they were sound proof or the others were still down in the library. A scream pierced the room as Kokichi broke down.
He jumped on to the bed and began hitting his pillows as he sobbed, getting out everything he could.
"You promised! You promised!"
He repeated to himself over and over. He cried until he began gagging at how hard he was crying and how scratchy his throat was becoming. Nothing felt real anymore. Rantaro was gone and now he was alone. Kokichi wished it was him instead. What he wouldn't give to be in Rantaro's place now.
"You asshole!" His voice was giving out and he was beginning to feel nauseous.
"It should have been me." The confession came out a whisper as fatigue came over his body. Everything began to settle into a numbness as he curled up on to the bed. With the last bit of energy he could muster, he reached up and held the pendant in the palm of his hand.
Kokichi wouldn't let Rantaro's death be for nothing. It was not fair for someone with his heart to be taken out of the world like that. No matter what it took, Kokichi would make sure they got out of there. That was Rantaro's plan, his wish, and Kokichi would follow through with it. Even if it meant they all saw him in a bad light until the end. He would learn to be alone again.

PART THREE PREGAME AMASAI
*************************
Saihara had been so distracted after everything that once his time was up, he almost forgot to get his game back from Akamatsu. He had watched Amami walked out of the aisle before he leaned back against the book shelf and closed his eyes. What the fuck just happened? Why would Amami even acknowledge him in that sense? Saihara took a moment to collect himself before he attempted to leave. He walked back towards his table and grabbed his bag before exiting the library.
Through everything, he felt like he was on cloud nine. He almost wanted to ask Akamatsu to slap him across the face just to make sure he wasn't dreaming. She would end up being way too happy about that request though.
Luckily he didn't have to go far. Akamatsu had been sitting outside of the door on the ground playing on his console.
"Oh, I d-didnt expect to see you h-here." Saihara figured he would have to go and hunt her down.
"Eh. Didn't want to go far. Too busy." She kept her sentences short, obviously in an intense part of the level.
"I appreciate it."
"I didn't do it for you. I just wanted to spend more time playing and less time fighting people off from talking to me. Fuck!" She growled at the screen and tilted her head back. "Fine. Take the stupid thing back. I'm gunna smash it if I keep trying it."
Saihara reached out and took the console without saying anything.
"You seem like you're in another dimension." She stated as she stood up and flattened out her skirt.
"Oh. Uhm. N-no." He couldn't just tell her what happened. She would not believe him and think he just had a wet dream during detention, resulting in her making fun of him even more. "I'm just, uh, ready t-to get home and get someth-thing to eat."
"Yeah." She didn't enjoying going back to her place either. Saihara never pryed too much into her personal life, but knew most nights she didn't go home until well after 11 or 12 when her parents were asleep. She would bounce between friends and hanging out just to pass time. He wondered where she would be going tonight.
They made their way outside, the sun in it's early stages of setting because of the changing season. Saihara didn't live too far from the school making it very easy to walk to and from. Akamatsu normally walked with him until they reached a stop sign at the end of the street before she would break off and head off on her own.
"I-ill see you tomorrow alright?" Saihara waved at her as she shoved headphones into her ears. She nodded at him and quickly turned on her heel.
Saihara dug his keys out of his pocket and made his way up his front porch steps to the door. Once he entered, he knew immediately that his uncle was probably at his office doing some work on a case and he would be alone to fend for himself. This would include making a small rice side or microwave dinner and enjoying some YouTube theories that people had over the last season and predictions for the new season of Danganronpa, right after a shower of course. He could not stay in his clothes for much longer.
He knew he should probably eat better but microwaved food was so much quicker than actually putting in effort to cook. Finally cleaned and cuddled up in his pajamas, Saihara sat down on the couch facing the television in the living room. He plugged up his laptop to the HDMI cord and displayed his YouTube page on the screen.
He thought about shooting a text to Ouma and seeing how he was doing. After seeing him with Amami, he wondered if he could get any info or reasoning why. Did Ouma know what Amami had done? If they were together, would he be mad at him for doing that to Saihara? Did Amami tell Ouma he was spying? He didn't want to make anything worse for Ouma that's for sure but he had so many questions that were overwhelming him.
Saihara sighed and took his phone off the table and sent the text anyway. He at least wanted to strike up conversation again. Ouma was one of the cutest boys he has ever seen. His hair so puffy and soft that he wanted to just pet it, and if you got him laughing then you would become addicted to the sound. Saihara did have a bit of a crush on him when they had first met, but his timid personality clashed with Saihara's inept one. Now he was settling for a simple friendship.
Saihara: *Hey Ouma! What are you up to?* He set the phone down and began to eat on one of the sides from his dinner and pressed play on a video.
Soon a notification on his phone went off.
Ouma: *Hey,, I'm just doing homework. You..?*
Ouma was even timid in his messages.
Saihara: *I'm eating dinner finally and trying to relax.*
Ouma: *oh, yeah I saw you had to stay after. That super sucks.*
Fuck so he did see Saihara there at least?
Saihara: *Oh yeah! You came in sometime during that huh?? There was someone else with you, I think?* He had to play it cool. Maybe he could make it seem like he didn't even know him.
Ouma: *Oh, uhm, yeah.*
Saihara huffed. That was all Ouma was going to say?
Saihara: *That's cool!* He really wanted to press further but wasn't exactly sure what to say. *Is he a friend of yours? Boyfriend? ;) Name??*
It took a lot longer for him to respond this time. Saihara wondered if he had scared him away. He really just, didn't know how to talk to people most of the time. He would become annoying or exhausting and people would eventually cast him away. Social cues just were not his specialty, but he really was trying to work on it.
While he waited, Saihara reached down on the ground for his messenger bag and lifted the flap to look for his notebook. It wasn't right there in the front. He could have sworn he had just stuck it in. He checked behind the other things he had but there was no trace of the notebook. Saihara's eyes widened and he suddenly felt his chest tightening. Fuck.
He knew the sound of his phone had gone off but it sounded so muffled, much like he was underwater. His vision also started to become blurry. Did he leave it at the library? Did it somehow fall out? Someone was going to take it and his life would be over. He found himself gasping for air, the room feeling like it had been closing in on him and he was losing oxygen.
Shakily he reached back into his bag once more, not for his missing notebook, but another compartment that held a small bottle. He flipped the lid off taking a small pill out and took it with a swig of his drink. He kept these on him for moments like this. Moments when he was loosing himself in an attack and needed help to calm it down. He was supposed to be taking them regularly but he opted to only take them during panic attacks.
His mind was running 80 mph as he imagined scenarios of someone picking up his notebook and spreading everything through the school. He grabbed a couch pillow and shoved his face into it, trying to regulate his breathing and keep himself from passing out.
It felt like years to him, but finally he felt himself begin to relax. He could still feel a sense of fear, but his breathing had gone down and his body felt weak. The downside of this was the feeling afterwards, like almost a delay in his reactions. It certainly calmed him down, but it didn't fully take away the feeling that got him there. It was just easier to handle now.
The pillow fell lazily to the ground with a thump and Saihara looked over to his phone. Maybe he would look and distract himself from everything. As he pressed his on button, the screen lit up and it took a second for his vision to adjust to focusing on it. He clicked on the text message Ouma had sent a while ago.
Ouma: *saihara, we both know you know who he is..*
Ouma wasn't wrong. He really didn't think about it when he had sent his reply earlier. He probably looked like a big dumbass. What was he even supposed to say now? A lot of time had passed so he assumed Ouma thought he had ignored him after being called out. Shit another great attempt at a friendship.
Saihara: *Sorry, I know. I was just trying to keep up conversation and not sound too stalkery.*
He put his phone down on to his laptop and looked over at the food he hadn't finished eating. At this point his appetite was shot so it was going to end up as lunch for the next day. Saihara pulled himself up on to wobbly legs and took the bowl to the fridge. Another ding came from his phone, and then another as he finally got back over to the couch.
Ouma had replied.
Ouma: *You're fine,, no worries. Its good that you didnt freak out about it... hehe*
One thing did bother him about the responses. Ouma never addressed the boyfriend part of his question. Saihara wondered if maybe that was intentional. Maybe Ouma didn't want anyone to know or maybe he thought Saihara would throw a fit if he knew, which wasn't the case at all.
But another number had also contacted him.
*Saihara.*
That was, weird. Saihara stared at the message trying to figure out what the best response should be. This mystery number was just another thing on top of his already overwhelmed plate.
Saihara: *Maybe?* That was the stupidest response but nothing else seemed like it would be vague enough to match the vibe.
*Are you missing something?*
Saihara's eyes widened. This had to be the person who stole his notebook.
Saihara: *What gives you the right to dig into my stuff?*
He'd be lying if he said he was anything less than livid. Who had the balls to dig into others belongings? In all actuality, he could think of a few. Momota came to mind. He wouldn't think twice about taking whatever he wanted and having more of a reason to ridicule him. Saihara hoped to whatever deity out there that it wasn't him.
*Says the person who likes to eavesdrop on conversations he isn't a part of.*
Saihara re-read the message at least ten times in his head. No, no way. It couldn't be him. How would he have even gotten his phone number? He didn't have it written down in the notebook anywhere. Maybe someone had been watching them?
Before he knew it, Saihara had pressed the call button at the top of the text messages, determined to get to the bottom of it.
The phone rang three times before it was answered.
"Yeah?"
There was no mistaking that voice. Even over the phone it made him melt like butter.
"Amami?" His voice came out breathy, with a small squeak as he struggled to fit pieces together.
"Mhmm." Amami answered with more of a confirming noise than anything.
"You, you have m-my notebook?"
"You really like Danganronpa don't you?"
Well that answered it. Saihara stayed quiet at that. The answer was completely obvious. Then it hit him. All of the pages that had been dedicated to Amami, were now in his hands.
"Did you, uhm, uh, re-read all o-of it?" Saihara began to bite on his finger nails trying desperately to stay grounded.
"Eh, not yet. You kind've interrupted me." How was Amami so chill about this. He acted so nonchalant about what he had done, about the reactions he was recieving from Saihara.
"Listen, uhm, c-can I just hav-ve it back, please?"
"Sure. I'll give it back to you tomorrow. If you don't get yourself stuck back in the library again."
Saihara pulled his finger out of his mouth and huffed loud enough to he heard against the reviever.
"H-how did you ev-ven get my n-number?" He may have sounded a bit more agitated than he intended to show.
"That's for me to know. Got it?" His smooth, relaxed voice now had a firm sound to it.
"O-okay." Saihara responded immediately. It was time for him to accept his fate at this point.
"I'm not going to share it with anyone." Amami reassured him, almost like he could hear what Saihara was thinking. "I'm not the type of person to do that."
"B-but you're th-the type to s-steal out of pe-peoples bags?"
There was a moment of silence between the two.
"I-im sorry. I d-didnt mean to, to snap." Saihara apologized. "I was j-just, uh, freaking out earlier."
Amami had made another noise in response to the confession. "I'm not surprised. Look, I'll give it to you tomorrow. No one else will see it. Meet me at the store across the street in the morning okay?"
"Okay. Uhm. I just, I advise you b-before you read more. It's uh, s-some of it m-may have you in it."
"Do you not want me to read that then?"
That caught him off guard. Did Amami really care enough to skip the pages doodled in hearts about him? Or would he lie and read them anyway?
"If you really don't want me to then I won't. I haven't gotten far. Just a couple of excecution you have planned out."
Saihara thought for a moment. Amami had touched him in the library today. What if he was actually eager to read what was in there? Maybe Amami could handle it, if he felt the same way. His heart skipped a beat at the thought of Amami feeling the same way about him.
Deep down, it was also thrilling to have him read those fantasies.
"Y-you can."
"Are you sure?"
"Yes I-I don't mind. Just, d-dont hate me for some of the s-stuff in there."
"Want me to tell you when I have or keep it to myself?"
This all seemed to point towards Amami actually caring about his feelings in all of this. It reassured Saihara that perhaps things wouldn't be so bad. Maybe the outcome would be much like the movies where one person would read the love letters and fall in love with the sender.
"Please tell me. I'll b-be worried sick if I just, just don't know anything."
"Will do then. I'll text you." And with that Amami hung up.
Saihara let out a shaky breath and saved the number into his phone. Amami's name, with quite a few hearts following. He couldn't help it. This is not at all how he thought he and Amami would start talking, but he still relished in seeing that name in his contacts and felt like he was in a dream state. That night he was going to eagerly wait with his phone volume turned up.
