Kind of hilarious to me how poorly the title "Mob Psycho 100" localized to English-speaking areas. To someone whose first language is English, it scans as:

Mob (Yakuza, Mafia)

Psycho (violent person with "crazy" behaviors)

Thus: a particularly violent member of organized crime.

But in Japanese it scans as:

Mob (background characters in crowd scenes in manga or anime)

Psycho (short for psychic)

Thus: a psychic who looks/acts like someone you'd never pick out of a crowd scene in a comic.

Soft+Silly Omegaverse/Coffeeshop AU

Was thinking about NOT sharing this for fear of getting yelled out, but recently saw someone share theirs and it didn't appear to upset anyone?

It's pretty simple, def more romcom.

Xiao, after working too many hours, stops at his usual place but not during his usual time. Every morning before work he goes, but this is the first time after and it's much later than his usual leave time anyway. It's a different crew entirely, and he's politely ignoring how cute the one barista is because this is a coffee shop and not a bar.

Then some confused jerk doesn't seem to understand that, and tries flirting with Xiao. He's tired. This guy is wrong about a lot, and being polite doesn't work but before he can gather the energy to even be annoyed -

That cute barista has a broom and chases the jerk away. Xiao wants to ask if that's even allowed (the broom as a weapon against a customer that is), but instead thanks the cute barista whose nametag says, "Venti."

"They can be pretty annoying, huh? You okay?" Venti asks. Xiao is a bit confused. They...? "Alphas. But that's why we omegas stick together, right?"

Oh.

Oh no.

Venti definitely misread a few things. Xiao is an alpha. But before he can correct the other, the barista is back to talking. "Don't worry, we got a great system here. You're safe." Says the omega to the alpha. It's cute, it's endearing, and...

Another customer enters, Venti leaving to go assist them. Xiao once more stopped entirely from correcting the other. Well. It's not that important, right? This is just once.

Except it isn't. Xiao wants to see Venti again, and honestly? It's the best excuse he has in the beginning. And then Venti invites him to meet his friends. And then they're hanging out, but still every time he tries to tell Venti...

It's almost like he's not supposed to know.

Just a bunch of silly little things, and just playing with world building and how everything interacts. It's especially fun thinking of creative ways for Xiao to try and say something, because he doesn't want to court Venti under false pretenses.
