mingyu rolls his eyes at the younger’s comment about the cake and replies with, “i’m here because you wouldn’t stop whining to me over text about how tired you are so i decided to be nice and get you some coffee,” and ignores the stab of jealousy that shoots through him at the mention of his plans. it’s not like he’s in love with kitae so he shouldn’t be jealous but the thought of some other person touching the human didn’t sit right with the vampire for some reason. “and as for your plans, you didn’t think to invite me? how rude.”
“Well, that’s your own fault. I didn’t ask you to bring me the drink.” Kitae noted. It wasn’t hard for Kitae to read people, and he could tell there was some bit of jealousy from Mingyu. Turning to look at the vampire, the younger pouted playfully before speaking. “Awe, I would invite you, however, the guy I’m seeing isn’t into alphas. Sorry.”

a small grin remains on his lips as he answers, “he can be but he’s full of sass and has kicked my ass out a couple of times because of my own stupidity,” and looks over kitae’s shoulder briefly to see a flash of his brother’s boyfriend through the small glass window on the door and looks back at kitae sympathetically. “and don’t look now but i think they’ve gotten a bit carried away with their little make out session so i suggest not going near the back for a little while.”
“I’m not sure if I fully believe that.” Kitae mused as he continued looking over the books in front of him. Though, Thorn’s next words made him groan and roll his eyes. “I don’t get paid enough for this.” He muttered to himself before turning to look at the alpha once again. “What are you here for then? Picking up something?”

jealous is the key word in that sentence but he remains nonchalant as he replies with, “not as jealous as you were when that cute twenty-something girl flirted with me a couple days ago when we stopped at the diner,” and leans against the wall next to the registers so that he’d be out of the way of any straggling customers while he waited for the other to clock out. “and don’t you dare lie - i could smell that rotten apple scent from a mile away.”
“Jealous of her?” Kitae scoffed as he shook his head. “Okay, good to know you’re delusional. I was jealous that you got the last slice of my favorite type of cake. I told you it was my favorite too.” The human looked around to make sure there were no customers just wandering the store before he pulled out his phone. “Why are you here? I have plans tonight.”

a chuckle leaves his lips at the explanation the omega gave to him and replies, “don’t need to–i know he’s probably making out with his boyfriend in the back,” and places one hand on his hip as he combs his hand through his hair and cocks his head slightly. “and as weird as this is going to sound but i feel like you and my boyfriend would get along well. you both have similar personalities.”
The mention of what Rune was probably up to made Kitae roll his eyes. Of course, he knew the other was probably right, but he didn’t like to think about that. “As long as it’s just making out.” He muttered, stepping over to the nearest line of bookshelves to make sure things were organized right. “You’re right, it sounds really weird.” Kitae glanced back at Thorn before shaking his head. “Your boyfriend doesn’t seem anything like me. He’s quiet and nice from everything I’ve heard.”

The younger took the drink once it was offered, taking a sip of it before giving a small hum of approval. “By the way you’re calling me babe, I don’t think it’s me who has a problem.” Kitae raised a brow and looked the other over carefully. “What? Did you come in earlier and see me flirting with someone? Jealous much?”

“doesn’t seem like it’s okay,” thorn remarks with a small smile settling on his lips as he looks at the shorter male and lets out a soft sigh. despite being an alpha, thorn will always fight for the rights of anyone who is oppressed and won’t stop until there is equality for everyone. “i could let my older brother know and he will ban their asses for life. no one deserves to be called ‘second class’ because of their sub-gender.”
Looking over at Thorn, Kitae raised a brow at the other. “You think that little thing was over sub-gender?” The human let out a laugh as he shook his head. “Hardly. They tried to get mad because their fellow alpha buddy hooked up with me, and I didn’t stick around. So, of course they just said some stuff, and omega was included in it.” The younger chuckled to himself, shaking his head as he went to adjust something next to him. “Anyways, if you’re here to see your brother, I think he left to get something real quick.”
